Chapter 80: Just a Dream
The only way now is to wait for Senior Brother Zhong Yun to return to the country.
Lu Xiwán hadn't finished speaking when she felt a wave of dizziness, then the world spun, and she completely lost consciousness.
When she woke up again, she was already in a hospital, and Lu Xiwán opened her eyes to see Fu Sijue sitting at her bedside.
His eyes were clouded with a deep bluish‑black, and he leaned against the bedside to rest.
Lu Xiwán propped herself up to get up, and Fu Sijue opened his eyes alertly.
"I just want to go to the restroom; you can go back," Lu Xiwán said, looking at Fu Sijue with an awkward explanation.
Fu Sijue walked silently to her side and said, "The doctor said you need to rest during this period."
Lu Xiwán gave Fu Sijue a strange look and said, "But, I mean, I need to go to the restroom…"
Fu Sijue only then reacted, letting out two light coughs, and a hint of redness spread across his face.
"I'll wait for you outside."
Lu Xiwán whispered, "My legs are fine; if anything happens, I'll call you directly."
Fu Sijue nodded in agreement and sat down impatiently.
His hurried steps revealed his inner panic, and Lu Xiwán couldn't help but laugh out loud.
She hadn't realized before how thin Fu Sijue's skin was.
"Mommy, you really scared me, sob sob…" When Lu Xiwán came out again, she saw Xi Xi and Fu Yao sitting beside Fu Sijue.
The little crybaby was unusually hard to soothe.
Lu Xiwán, half laughing half crying, hugged Xi Xi and said, "Nothing's happened yet, right? Stop crying, okay? Mommy promises this won't happen again."
After a back‑and‑forth that finally stopped Xi Xi's tears, she turned her head and saw Fu Sijue propping his chin, looking at her.
"How long have I been sleeping?" Lu Xiwán frowned slightly; she had clearly been awake for half a day, yet her mind was still foggy.
Fu Sijue: "Just two days. The doctor said it's overexertion; just rest properly."
Lu Xiwán pressed her hand to her forehead and stared at the ceiling.
When did her body become this weak? Just this little thing made her overexerted?
The phone on the bedside table rang suddenly; Lu Xiwán answered and heard the man's questioning on the other end.
"I've been at the airport for so long; why haven't you come?"
Senior Brother Zhong Yun's voice carried obvious displeasure, and Lu Xiwán, startled, quickly checked the calendar.
"Aren't there still a few days left? Senior Brother, did you get the date wrong?" Lu Xiwán blurted out, pouting as she complained.
Senior Brother Zhong Yun was silent for a long time before speaking, "Xi Wan, check the message record yourself!"
He had sent a message to Lu Xiwán the day before yesterday, and just now had called several times.
After Lu Xiwán read the message record, her whole face twisted into a bitter gourd.
"Senior Brother, I said I was unconscious for two days and I'm still in the hospital; do you believe it?"
Senior Brother Zhong Yun fell silent again.
"Is it that damn capitalist exploiting you?" he asked through clenched teeth, and Lu Xiwán even suspected he might eat Fu Sijue the next second.
Lu Xiwán awkwardly touched her nose; actually, this seemed really not Fu Sijue's fault.
"I can't explain it in a sentence or two; I'll find someone to pick you up now…"
"Send me the location, and I'll be there right now!"
After saying that, Senior Brother Zhong Yun hung up, and the ward fell into silence.
Yao Yao looked at Lu Xiwán expectantly, not understanding why.
"Is Uncle Zhong Yun coming?"
Fu Sijue twisted his eyebrows subtly.
From that, Xi Xi seemed to really like this Zhong Yun.
Lu Xiwán plopped onto the hospital bed, peeled a banana, and said, "Yeah, he should be on the way now."
She was also quite happy that he could come.
Yao Yao's illness could now be treated.
"Yao Yao, why are you staying silent?" Lu Xiwán smiled brightly at Yao Yao, feeling Fu Sijue's gaze casually shift the topic.
"Mommy, how did you get sick? I think it might be related to me…" Yao Yao said quietly, sounding confused.
He couldn't recall what was going on, yet constantly felt an illusion that it was connected to him.
"Mommy got sick because there have been too many things lately; it has nothing to do with Yao Yao, it was just a nightmare you had."
