Chapter 56: Setting Off for Home
Traffic in the center of Hangzhou City is not exactly good; the subway has yet to open, and the cars on the road are like scattered stars, so numerous they are overwhelming.
After stopping and starting along the way, half an hour later, the destination finally came into view.
In the station parking lot, Shen Yan grabbed Hao Anqi just as she was about to get out of the car and said softly, "We're about to be apart for a week, aren't you going to show some affection?"
Hao Anqi wasn't shy; she scanned the situation outside the car window, then leaned in and kissed Shen Yan on the cheek. Just as she was about to pull away, Shen Yan caught her head and tilted his own to capture those delicate, warm red lips.
"Mmph!" Caught off guard, Hao Anqi let out a soft moan, then immediately closed her eyes to cooperate.
Hao Anqi braced her right foot on the ground and knelt on the passenger seat with her left knee. Before long, she felt her waist aching terribly and patted Shen Yan on the shoulder. Shen Yan, just getting carried away, didn't intend to end it so soon, so he reached out to recline the seat, signaling for her to sit over.
Hao Anqi hesitated and said, "It's not good here, someone will see us."
"The car tint is custom-made; you can't see inside from the outside. Besides, we're just kissing, not doing anything else. Come on, sit over."
This sentence gave Hao Anqi sufficient reason. The two were in the heat of a passionate romance, and she didn't mind being intimate with her boyfriend, so she climbed over the center console and sat sideways on Shen Yan's lap.
Shen Yan wrapped his right arm around Hao Anqi's willow-thin waist, used his left hand to turn her cheek, and kissed her again.
Only now did Shen Yan realize that the thirty-plus years he had lived before were essentially wasted; he hadn't even touched a woman, and the taste of it was truly intoxicating.
As the passionate kiss deepened, Shen Yan began to feel unsatisfied with just that. His left hand moved downward, touching Hao Anqi's smooth, delicate calf, then traced along the hem of her skirt, gradually stroking upward.
However, just as he touched her thigh, his hand was tightly pressed down by hers. Hao Anqi's cheeks were flushed, and she said breathlessly, "Don't mess around."
Shen Yan looked straight into her eyes and said softly, "I'm just touching your leg, I won't do anything else."
After saying this, he leaned forward again to block that cherry-red mouth.
Before long, Shen Yan felt the pressure from the hand on his left hand growing weaker, and his palm began to contract, kneading that delicate, rounded, soft flesh.
"Mmph!" Hao Anqi's breathing became increasingly rapid, her eyes blurred, and her mind went blank.
Not knowing how much time had passed, Shen Yan knew he couldn't go on like this. He released Hao Anqi and checked the time: 12:30, twenty minutes until departure.
"Let's go, I'll walk you up," Shen Yan said, stroking Hao Anqi's hair.
Hao Anqi calmed her emotions, gave Shen Yan's shoulder a hard pat, and pouted, "I thought you were quite honest, I didn't expect you to be such a big pervert."
Shen Yan kissed Hao Anqi on the cheek again and said shamelessly, "I'm only a pervert to you." Hao Anqi gave a light hum, but her heart couldn't stop feeling sweet.
The two got out of the driver's side together, pulling their luggage, and walked toward the waiting hall hand-in-hand, attracting a large number of gazes wherever they passed. The implication was self-evident, as if to say, "Wow! This guy is so handsome!" "Wow! This girl is so beautiful."
The two just looked at each other and smiled.
Before parting, Hao Anqi urged, "You have to remember to miss me and call me."
Shen Yan nodded with a smile, "Go on, send me a message when you get home."
Hao Anqi hugged Shen Yan one last time, reluctant to let go, before turning to walk into the security checkpoint.
Watching her graceful figure disappear around the corner, Shen Yan curled his lips upward, thinking to himself: this is what life is all about!
The spring breeze is triumphant, the horse's hooves are swift; in one day, I have seen all the flowers of Chang'an.
That is likely the state of mind he was in.
Hangzhou University, Dongdamen.
Although the National Day holiday only officially began tomorrow, the students were already unable to contain themselves, each pulling their luggage along the narrow paths. The warm sun hung high in the sky, casting down strands of golden light that filtered through the leaves, leaving mottled shadows beneath the students.
At this moment, a crisp cell phone ringtone sounded inside the BMW. Shen Yan looked up and saw Wu Yue'er and Yu Youwei standing prettily under a large tree at the school gate, one carrying a handbag and the other pulling a suitcase.
"Over here!"
Shen Yan pressed the window button and waved at the two of them.
???
Wu Yue'er and Yu Youwei were completely bewildered, staring blankly at Shen Yan in the driver's seat.
What's going on?
Seeing that the two didn't move, Shen Yan shouted again, "Hurry up, you two, parking isn't allowed here."
"Oh, oh!" The two woke up as if from a dream, walked over in a daze, and put their luggage in the trunk. Yu Youwei opened the passenger door directly, sat down, and asked, "Shen Yan, where did this car come from?"
After starting the car, Shen Yan said he bought it.
"You bought it? Where did you get the money?" Yu Youwei's eyes widened to the size of copper bells.
Wu Yue'er hadn't even warmed her seat yet when she jumped up and hit the roof of the car, wincing in pain. However, she ignored it, stared straight at Shen Yan, and said in shock, "Damn! Old Shen, are you for real?"
For certain reasons, Wu Yue'er recognized this BMW 3 Series; it had to cost at least 300,000 to get on the road.
"No need to lie to you? I bought a scratch-off a while ago and won two million. The money was just sitting there, so I figured I'd buy a car."
Shen Yan explained nonchalantly.
The two women's reactions were exactly the same as Hao Anqi's, their eyes full of disbelief that Shen Yan could actually encounter such a one-in-a-million probability.
My goodness!
As if remembering something, Yu Youwei said, "Was it that day on the sports field when I went to find you to buy tickets? You were smiling like a total idiot back then."
"You decided to buy a car back then."
Shen Yan nodded, surprised that she had noticed such a small detail.
"Wow! Shen Yan, you... this luck... two million, wow." Yu Youwei was incomparably excited, as if she were the one who had won the prize.
The two women chattered away, asking a bunch of questions, wanting to know more details about the scratch-off. Shen Yan gave vague responses, brushed them off with a few words, and started changing the subject.
At this time, Wu Yue'er asked again, "Old Shen, is your driving reliable? Do you have a license? You aren't going to drive us into a mountain ditch, are you?"
Shen Yan grinned and said no, his driving was steady, and he wouldn't joke around with his own life.
After observing for a while, Wu Yue'er finally felt at ease. Shen Yan's driving was indeed as steady as an old dog, and he handled the steering wheel with such smooth ease that he was clearly an experienced driver.
Taking advantage of waiting at a red light, Shen Yan connected the Bluetooth and began playing his favorite song, "It's Not Because I'm Lonely That I Miss You."
Meeting in the sea of people, gathering and parting beyond the reunion~
The window sill where I wake, waiting for the moonlight to spill down~
The familiar melody made the two women hum along unconsciously. If Yu Youwei's singing voice was like a clear spring in a mountain stream, soft and moist, then Wu Yue'er's singing sounded like a duck being strangled by the throat, which was quite painful to hear.
Sure enough, no one is perfect. Heaven gave her an angelic face and a devilish figure, but in the realm of music, she was a child lost on a journey, unable to find her way.
"Stop, stop, stop, Old Wu, we're all on the same side, don't shoot." Shen Yan decisively called for a halt.
