Chapter 131: Xixi or Haha?

~7 min read 1,334 words

Zhou Yinhe looked bewildered, continuing to ask: "Do you like sleeping on the left side? I thought you liked the spot by the window."

"You know, you really like to squeeze people when you sleep."

"Not only do you like to squeeze people, you're also clingy."

Zhou Yinhe couldn't possibly know; when he was little, he used to sleep alone very early, and when he wasn't with Wen Ling, he was always by himself.

He scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Wen Ling chuckled, continued washing up, and reminded him: "Don't forget, later we need to go buy some things for Hehe to take out."

Zhou Yinhe nodded, walked to her side and lowered his head to wash up.

Wen Ling brushed her teeth while looking at him in the mirror, curling the corners of her mouth; this was the daily life she had dreamed of.

Zhou Yinhe gazed back at her, his narrow black eyes fixed on her deeply; seeing her smile, the corners of his eyes lifted and he smiled too.

"Yesterday, when we left Feng Qi Yuan, the bag the auntie gave me was a custom-made piece by a top designer."

"That designer is hard to book; it takes quite a bit of effort."

Zhou Yinhe nodded again, mumbling with his toothbrush: "Her taste is still not bad."

"Are you talking about this?" Wen Ling turned to face him and poked his swollen cheek.

"Besides bags, what else does the auntie like? Jewelry?"

Zhou Yinhe grunted, "She's pretty well-stocked."

Wen Ling rolled her eyes, walked out of the bathroom, picked up her phone, and opened the internationally famous jewelry designer she had known before.

The other party replied quickly; Wen Ling sent her requirements and style, they responded with an okay emoji, then disappeared.

After finishing washing up, Zhou Yinhe came out, saw her eagerly sending messages on her phone, didn't disturb her, went into the dressing room alone, changed clothes, then sat on the sofa waiting for her.

Although he didn't urge her verbally, his occasional glances were urging her.

Wen Ling had no choice but to get up and continue washing up, meanwhile doing her makeup and changing clothes.

She doesn't have many clothes at Chen Yue Fu; most were bought later, mainly because she didn't want to move back and forth, so staying at both places wouldn't be delayed.

After she finished tidying up, Zhou Yinhe had already played two rounds of a game; seeing her come out, he quietly let out a breath, which Wen Ling caught him doing.

"Have you been waiting impatiently for me?"

Zhou Yinhe hurriedly shook his head, took her hand, "How could that be?"

"That's for the best." Wen Ling gave a soft hum and went downstairs with him.

Hehe lay sprawled on the sofa; hearing the two go downstairs, it didn't move, basking in the air-conditioned sunlight streaming through the glass wall, sleeping blissfully.

Wen Ling gazed at the harsh sunlight outside the glass wall, frowned, and began to have second thoughts.

"Why not just have them deliver it?" Wen Ling took out her phone, found the saved contact, and handed it to Zhou Yinhe.

Zhou Yinhe glanced down, chuckled lightly, "Then didn't you just put on makeup for nothing?"

Wen Ling bit her lip, feeling very torn.

"After we finish buying things for Hehe, I'll take you to tour my company, okay?"

Wen Ling's heart stirred; she had never been to Zhou Yinhe's company, mainly because since they reconciled, he himself hasn't gone there much.

"I guess that's okay." Wen Ling said those three words very reluctantly.

Zhou Yinhe could clearly sense her curiosity about his company; he lowered his head and gave her a meaningful look, but Wen Ling smacked him hard on the back, and he obediently withdrew his gaze.

The two first strolled around the pet shop, buying a bunch of supplies for Hehe, but when they were about to leave, Wen Ling couldn't move her feet.

After paying, Zhou Yinhe walked up to her and gave her a puzzled look.

"What's wrong?"

Wen Ling pointed at the cat in the cage, eyes shining with excitement, "It's the same breed as Hehe."

Zhou Yinhe followed her finger and looked; indeed, it was a very beautiful and majestic Maine Coon.

This pet shop can be said to be the most high-end in all of Sijiucheng; the cats' appearance is naturally top-notch, and the prices are certainly easy on the eyes.

The store clerk saw the high-value customers who had just spent lavishly on pet supplies lingering by the cat cage, approached with a chuckle, saw both of them looking at the Maine Coon inside, and enthusiastically recommended: "This is just the offspring of last year's championship cat that our boss brought back from M Country; because its appearance is exceptionally striking, the boss paid a huge sum to bring it back, but due to the price it hasn't sold, and the boss is planning to keep it for himself."

Wen Ling liked it more the more she looked, and asked: "Is this a little boy or a little girl?"

Upon hearing that, plus the fact that the supplies they'd just bought were not cheap, the clerk realized this delicate, doll-like customer must especially love cats, and smiled: "It's a little boy."

Hearing that, Wen Ling felt a bit regretful; she had originally wanted to bring a female companion for Hehe back home, but then thought, bringing a little brother wouldn't be bad either.

Seeing her interest, Zhou Yinhe glanced sideways at the clerk and said lightly: "Swipe the card, we'll take it home directly, and also send a set of supplies to the address I just left; another set, I'll leave an address, and send it to this place."

Wen Ling looked at him in surprise; Zhou Yinhe curled his lips: "We'll bring it home, but it's still small; when we go out, we'll leave it with my parents to look after, and when we return we'll pick it up again."

"Or, let it bond with Hehe first, then send them both to your parents' place? We'll head out." Wen Ling was afraid that if the two got acquainted tonight and then were separated, they'd fight when reunited.

Zhou Yinhe nodded: "Sure, then we'll prepare an extra set."

Wen Ling squinted her eyes, smiling happily, opened the cage, and hugged the fluffy ball to her chest, imitating a cat's meow to tease it.

The clerk, hearing Zhou Yinhe's few words, realized they'd just generated two months' worth of revenue for the store; grinning ear to ear, he took the card and rushed to swipe it, promising: "We'll get ready right away and arrange for someone to deliver it to your door shortly."

She took out a pet carrier, placed the cat inside, making it easy for the two to carry.

Zhou Yinhe gave a faint hum; the two, with the cat, walked out of the shop, got into the car, and Wen Ling, no longer interested in going to his company, urged him to hurry back to Chen Yue Fu.

"Changing hearts so quickly—won't Hehe feel bad?" He instinctively spoke up for Hehe.

Wen Ling gave a soft hum, repeatedly turning to look at the cat in the carrier.

"Should we call it Xixi or Haha?" She couldn't decide.

Zhou Yinhe: "……"

"Do we have to pick a name of this type? It's fine to call it Hehe normally, but if we call it Xixi or Haha, it feels a bit silly."

"Pick one; both go well with Hehe." Wen Ling looked at him.

"……" Zhou Yinhe coughed, pursed his lips, said: "Why not, when we get back, let's try calling it and see which it likes."

"It's not that he doesn't want to choose; it's mainly that he knows Wen Ling too well—if he picks a name and the cat gets mocked for having a silly name, Wen Ling will definitely blame him."

That works too.
