Chapter 151: Female A male O?

~7 min read 1,373 words

I'm not a woman, nor am I after your looks; you don't need to guard Wen Ling's chastity in front of me—hurry up and change!

Zhou Yinhe steadied his breath, which kept rising and falling from anger, gritted his teeth, and said, "Fine, you wait."

Zhou Yinhe also couldn't be bothered to stay reserved in front of his brother, and changed clothes as quickly as possible.

Wen Ling stood by the window watching the two brothers leave, and exchanged a glance with Shang Zhiyu, who sat on the bed smiling gently.

"He's bullying Xiao Wu now; later Xiao Wu won't even know how to retaliate." Shang Zhiyu shook his head. "Xiao Wu isn't that easy to bully."

Wen Ling laughed at her words, sat opposite Shang Zhiyu, and the two began researching a birthday gift for Ning Qing.

She only found out today that Ning Qing's birthday is still a month away; Wen Ling wanted to custom‑make a set of twenty‑four solar term bags, each designed according to the solar term.

After hearing that, Shang Zhiyu was a bit dazed, because she hadn't expected Wen Ling to be so thoughtful.

Wen Ling lowered her gaze to her phone, tapping the screen, still discussing the bag design with that world‑famous designer from M Country.

When Shang Zhiyu went back to her room for a nap, she didn't know that, besides preparing a birthday gift for Ning Qing, Wen Ling had also asked the designer to prepare gifts for Zhou Yinhe's two sisters, for Shang Zhiyu herself, and for Zhou Yinhe's second aunt.

After she finished chatting, nearly two hours had passed without her noticing.

Wen Ling stretched, walked to the balcony and glanced down, just in time to see those ladies leaving together.

She thought it over and decided not to go downstairs to disturb them; Ning Qing had already been worn out from receiving them, and if she went down, it would only affect Ning Qing's rest.

Zhou Yinhe wasn't there; in fact she couldn't sleep, but she had been napping all this while and her biological clock was set, so she lay down, playing on her phone to invite sleep, only then realizing that Zhou Yinhe had sent her a message while she and the designer were enthusiastically discussing the design.

It was a look of grievance.

Wen Ling replied with a head‑pat gesture, and the moment Zhou Yinhe received the message he called her.

"You're so heartless—just now you shoved me onto my brother."

He started spouting nonsense again, asking what 'pushing me onto his brother' even meant.

Zhou Yinhe let out a soft hum, his coquettish intent too obvious; Wen Ling was amused by him, and if Zhou Yinhe were in front of her she would surely give him a good kiss.

To soothe his childish heart, Wen Ling softly coaxed, "How about I come pick you up after work tonight, and you can take me for a tour of your company?"

At that moment Zhou Yinhe was in his office, swaying in his chair and glancing at the time shown on his computer.

When Zhou Yanqiu dropped him off at the company, he'd said Zhou Yinhe had to stay until six p. m.; it was still before three, and Zhou Yinhe let out a deep sigh.

"Okay, come pick me up at five."

He's just like a kindergartener who's spent the day at school; hearing his parents say they'll come get him tonight, he's been looking forward to it since he arrived.

Although Zhou Yinhe is really lazy these days, once he's at the company his attitude must be proper—and it is.

The secretaries kept bringing in documents for him to sign, and many calls came in from bosses of partner companies; since they'd finally managed to catch the bosses in the office, they feared the bosses would disappear again after leaving today, so the secretaries wished they could handle all of next year's work right now.

Zhou Yinhe initially signed documents and checked emails normally, but later he discovered that new emails filled his computer screen while the documents piled up before him like a mountain.

When Secretary Chen Yu walked in, he immediately locked eyes with the cold‑faced Zhou Yinhe.

Chen Yu quickly looked away, realizing Zhou Yinhe's attitude probably meant he already knew the secretaries were doing this on purpose.

Zhou Yinhe didn't speak; Chen Yu quietly explained, "General Manager Zhou, it's your older brother who told us to do this."

He knew it! Zhou Yinhe laughed in anger.

He grabbed his phone and sent Zhou Yanqiu a message: 【"Zhou Yanqiu, are you immature or not?"】

Zhou Yanqiu lightly replied: 【"No respect, watch me tell Dad on you."】

Zhou Yinhe replied with a smile emoji, then locked his phone and tossed it onto the desk, staring at Chen Yu for a few seconds.

Why would Chen Yu listen to Zhou Yanqiu? Because during the period when Zhou Yinhe was slacking off, Zhou Yanqiu would occasionally come to the company to help him handle documents that others weren't qualified to handle.

There was no way around it—Zhou Yinhe couldn't let the secretaries take all the pending documents, so he sighed wearily, picked up a pen, and began signing.

At this point he became more determined than ever to merge the company into the family group.

He started off busy, time flew by, and soon it was five o'clock.

Wen Ling didn't have the driver drive her; if the driver had, how could it count as her going to pick up Zhou Yinhe?

As she neared the company, while waiting at a red light she caught sight, out of the corner of her eye, of the flower shop where she'd bought red roses before.

That bunch of roses she'd finally tossed onto a bench; she didn't know what happened to it afterward, so Wen Ling pressed her lips, turned around, and went back to the flower shop to buy another bunch of red roses.

She thought, "If Zhou Yinhe pulls any more nonsense this time, buying flowers will never happen again in his lifetime."

Because she was waiting for the florist to wrap the bouquet, her arrival at Zhou Yinhe's company was already 5:30.

Wen Ling got out of the car, and as soon as she stepped through the company doors she saw Zhou Yinhe sitting in the lounge area on the first floor.

Zhou Yinhe was about to complain that she was late, but the words died in his throat when he saw the red roses in her arms.

"How...?" he stammered, opening his mouth. Wen Ling smiled, pressed her lips, and handed him the flowers, asking softly, "Baobao, do you like them? This time I'm resending the flowers that didn't reach your hand last time."

Zhou Yinhe took them, recalling the bunch Wen Ling had tossed onto the bench, which he had later carried back to his office, where it had been carefully tended for nearly a month before being removed.

"Do you like them?"

He lowered his head and said nothing, so Wen Ling leaned in to get a closer look.

Seeing Zhou Yinhe's eyes slightly reddened, Wen Ling felt uneasy as well.

"I don't mind at all—why are you feeling wronged?" Wen Ling stood on tiptoe to pat his head, her fingers soft and gentle, and softly comforted, "No more feeling wronged."

Zhou Yinhe exhaled and stubbornly denied, "I'm not feeling wronged."

He lowered his gaze to the red roses; in truth he didn't really like them, but because they were from Wen Ling he cherished them all the more.

The two entered the elevator together; the two receptionists at the front desk and the security guard in the lobby couldn't help laughing once the doors closed.

It's the first time I've seen the boss so adorable.

"Yeah, and the boss's girlfriend looks like she dotes on him—you think they might be that female A male O thing?"

The two receptionists, who were often online, exchanged a glance and burst out laughing again with a "pfft".

As for that female A male O business, Zhou Yinhe had no idea; he took Wen Ling's hand and strode into his office, not even bothering to introduce her.
