Chapter 188

Even when Zhou Qiyue scolded him, he didn't hear it.

He returned home, shouted Wen Ling's name on the first floor; Wen Ling didn't answer, Hehe and Huhuh weren't there either, so Zhou Yinhe went upstairs and found Wen Ling in the dressing room.

She was picking out clothes, wearing only a towel around her; hearing the sound she turned, and when she saw Zhou Yinhe she curled her lips and smiled.

"I thought you could hang out with Zhou Zhaoning-jie for a while, but I didn't expect you'd be back so soon."

Zhou Yinhe's eyes dimmed slightly, and he said in a hoarse voice, "Are you going out?"

Wen Ling shook her head, turned and continued picking clothes, took out a light-colored long dress, and asked Zhou Yinhe for his opinion.

Zhou Yinhe grunted, "Where to?"

"Jiang Jibai and them called me, asking us to go out and play tonight." Wen Ling curled her lips, tossed the clothes onto the nearby sofa, walked to Zhou Yinhe's side, tiptoed, and draped her arms over his shoulders, her eyes full of allure.

She blew air into Zhou Yinhe's ear, speaking softly: "They know you're hard to pin down, so they just called me. You say, is your habit of clinging to me known all over Sijiucheng?"

Zhou Yinhe couldn't help but grab her waist, pulling her toward him with some force, and the two pressed tightly together.

"And then what? Is that not good?"

He said while lowering his head to kiss her fair skin outside the towel; Wen Ling giggled but didn't dodge.

"Good, this way everyone knows the Fifth Young Master of the Zhou Family is taken."

Zhou Yinhe's actions became increasingly excessive; his kiss landed on her chin, clearly intending to keep her at home tonight and not let her go out.

Wen Ling, pressed close to him, easily sensed his oddness, then tried to push him away, urgently saying, "Don't kiss anymore, we still have to go out tonight."

"Not going out."

"No way, you promised, so you have to go; you can't always think of being with me and ignore those friends."

Wen Ling leaned back to dodge him; Zhou Yinhe sighed and had to give up, his helpless expression amused Wen Ling.

"Don't throw a tantrum; you used to play with them every day, now letting you go out with them is like being told to do something bad." Wen Ling scratched his chin, coaxing, "You're not allowed to be unhappy, hear me?"

Zhou Yinhe lowered his head and bit her lip, slowly saying, "I know."

He leaned by the door waiting for her, staring at her as she changed clothes, unblinking.

Wen Ling didn't avoid him either; they'd been together so long, they'd done all sorts of shameless things—changing clothes is nothing, she didn't mind being seen.

After changing, Wen Ling linked arms with Zhou Yinhe and went downstairs, waiting downstairs for Zhou Yinhe to open the cans for the two half-grown cats.

The steward stood aside and asked, "Young master, miss, aren't you dining at home tonight?"

Wen Ling said, "Um, just make meals according to my grandfather's and maternal grandfather's appetites, pay extra attention to my grandfather, don't let him eat too much oily, sugary stuff, and don't let him drink tea."

Qin Lao and Wen Lao had been staying at Chen Yue Fu for quite a few days; the steward already knew the dietary habits of the two elders thoroughly, including Wen Lao's usual taboos, and he nodded with a smile.

Zhou Yinhe went to wash his hands, then came back and took Wen Ling's hand as they headed out.

Drinking is inevitable at night, so the chauffeur came to pick them up; after getting in the car, Wen Ling asked, "Feeding those two cats their canned food—why do you always do it yourself?"

"If I don't feed them, they'll eventually have no place for me in their hearts." Zhou Yinhe had no doubt that if he weren't attentive, those two would have already forgotten him.

Wen Ling knew the temperaments of her two cats: the older one can love whoever Wen Ling loves, but its favorite is still Wen Ling; the younger one, logically, besides the older brother, should next be Zhou Yinhe who takes care of him daily, but it doesn't know whether it's due to the older brother's influence or something else—it actually acts more affectionate toward Wen Ling than toward Zhou Yinhe.

In other words, Zhou Yinhe serves as a qualified, even outstanding, litter‑scooper for those two cats every day, yet he hasn't won their favor.

The more Zhou Yinhe thought about it, the more resentment built up inside him; he grabbed Wen Ling's hand and brought it to his mouth, biting a bite.

Wen Ling winced, pulled her hand back, looked at the tooth marks on it, and snapped angrily, "Are you a dog?"

"I'm a Dragon." Zhou Yinhe gave an innocent smile, "You don't know that?"

"Who told you about zodiac signs? I'm talking about you as a person!" Wen Ling, fuming, wanted to rub the back of her hand against him to smear the leftover saliva onto him.

Zhou Yinhe, quick-eyed and quick-handed, caught her hand and pleaded pitifully, "You despise me!"

Wen Ling readily nodded, admitting it.

"But..." Zhou Yinhe leaned closer to her, his voice low enough for Wen Ling to hear but not the chauffeur.

He said, "When we kiss, why don't you despise me?"

Wen Ling's cheeks flushed; she slapped his chest and gritted her teeth, "You jerk."

Zhou Yinhe loved seeing her angry but unable to do anything about it; he responded to her words noncommittally, "Yeah, I am."

Wen Ling didn't want to deal with him, struggled free of his hand, sat properly, and all the way to Nys she treated Zhou Yinhe as if he were invisible—not speaking to him, nor listening to him.

"Ay." Zhou Yinhe caught up to her, hugged her from behind, and said, "Why are you so fiery? It's just a bite."

Wen Ling gave him a sideways glance, "Then let me bite you back."

"Sure, go ahead." Zhou Yinhe extended his hand to her; Wen Ling felt a flicker of triumph in her eyes, lowered her head, and bit him hard without hesitation.

Zhou Yinhe has been delicate since childhood; he couldn't bear this pain, yelped, and tears were about to well up.

Now the roles reversed; Zhou Yinhe cradled his hand and accused, "I didn't bite you that hard, yet you want to break my skin! How can you be so ruthless—don't you love me anymore?"

"..." Wen Ling opened her mouth, still feeling a bit guilty.

Zhou Yinhe wouldn't let up, continuing his complaint: "Every time you bully me like this; even if I bite you first, how can you bite me so hard?"

Wen Ling: "..." Are you being reasonable, dear?

"I..." Wen Ling wanted to explain but didn't know how; now she was like a toddler who just learned to speak, not knowing what to say to him.

Zhao Ningyan, Zhou Zhaoning, and Zhou Qiyue had just arrived; as soon as they got out of the car they saw the two standing at the bar's entrance, the atmosphere still off.

"What's going on?" Zhou Zhaoning, sharp-eyed, noticed his brother's eyes slightly red and asked, "Why are you still crying?"

Wen Ling awkwardly explained, "I bit him once, and made him cry."

Zhao Ningyan couldn't hold back a puff of laughter, but fearing that Zhou Zhaoning, who dotes on his brother, would settle scores with him, she hastily covered her mouth and turned her face away, not wanting to see the scene.

Zhou Qiyue showed no mercy: "Xiao Wu, is it really necessary? Falling in love makes you even more delicate."

Zhou Zhaoning poked her, indicating she should mind her own business.

Wen Ling saw Zhou Yinhe looking even more unhappy, and hurriedly told Zhou Qiyue, "It's because I bit him too hard."
