Chapter 190

~8 min read 1,402 words

Now, touching him is wrong; not touching him is even more of a letdown to himself.

He felt torn inside, finally made up his mind to act on Wen Ling, but Wen Ling had already lain on his stomach and fallen asleep.

……

Ancestor, he really is his ancestor.

Zhou Yinhe went limp for a while, really unable to hold back; he gritted his teeth and flipped Wen Ling over, regardless of whether she was still asleep, directly achieving his aim.

Wen Ling was dazedly woken up by the tossing; at this point the drunkenness had faded a bit, at least she could tell what situation she was in.

She raised her hand to push Zhou Yinhe, but Zhou Yinhe used some force to press her down on both sides.

"You provoked me and still want to just leave it like that? No way."

Zhou Yinhe gritted his teeth, used some brutal force; hearing Wen Ling's incessant pleas did not satisfy his heart, which was burning like fire at this moment.

Afterward, Wen Ling, already dazed from drink and unable to open her eyes, now simply fell into a deep sleep.

Zhou Yinhe held her and went to take a shower, meanwhile stripping off the bedsheets, casually changing into a fresh set, then held Wen Ling as they fell asleep.

The next day after waking, Wen Ling simply couldn't get out of bed; even eating, Zhou Yinhe brought food to her bedside and fed her.

Every time Wen Ling wanted to scold and accuse him, Zhou Yinhe would raise his hand and show her the spot she had bitten the day before; seeing Wen Ling feeling somewhat guilty, she swallowed her words, and he satisfiedly curled his lips.

After eating, Wen Ling could no longer bear it; just as she was about to retort, Zhou Yinhe had already pulled up the video of her midnight mischief and showed it to her—it was footage he had taken of the crime.

Wen Ling widened her eyes at the frame-by-frame playback on the phone; she wanted to look away but couldn't, as Zhou Yinhe's thumb and forefinger pinched her chin, preventing her from looking away, forcing her to watch to the end.

After the video finished, Wen Ling was furious from embarrassment and also felt somewhat guilty; the two emotions intertwined, leaving her unsure what to say.

Zhou Yinhe, feeling rather smug, carried the food tray away, humming a happy little tune, his whole body radiating satisfaction and pleasure, forming a contrast with Wen Ling.

Knowing Wen Ling would be bored stuck in bed, Zhou Yinhe went upstairs with the game controller, tucking one cat under his arm and having another perch on his shoulder, bringing them both back to the room.

Hearing Zhou Yinhe's thoughtful explanation, Wen Ling smiled: "Thank you?"

"You're welcome, Baobao, as long as you're happy." Zhou Yinhe, taking her tone at face value, laughed while wiping Hehe and Hmph's paws, then shoved them into Wen Ling's arms before going to adjust the game.

"We're going to Guishan tomorrow; you've bullied me so badly, how am I supposed to have fun there?"

"No problem, I'll carry you the whole way." Zhou Yinhe didn't turn back, squatting at the foot of the bed, continuing to plug in the controller.

Wen Ling said: "If I let you carry me, what will I say when my grandfather and maternal grandfather ask?"

She added: "I'm not as thick-skinned as you."

Zhou Yinhe finally turned his head, saw Wen Ling pouting with an unhappy expression, and smiled: "Just say you sprained your ankle? Or that your knee hurts a bit? Either works—pick whichever excuse you like."

"None of them are good!"

Wen Ling shoved Hmph toward Zhou Yinhe's direction, saying: "Go, hit him, scratch him, scratch his face raw, let me see how thick-skinned he is."

Hmph wasn't that stupid; it could tell they were joking, and even if they were serious, it wouldn't go.

Wen Ling let out a soft hum, and Hehe licked her fingers, as if coaxing her not to be angry.

After Qin Lao and Wen Lao returned from outside, Wen Ling's legs weren't as sore; she and Zhou Yinhe went downstairs together, and when she saw Qin Yuyang trailing behind Qin Lao, she froze for a moment.

"This little brat, he got into a fight at school; your uncle and your brother said he's not allowed to go to school. I was thinking, aren't we going to Guishan? I thought I'd bring him along, to check out the impoverished area while also donating some money to them."

Wen Ling didn't mind bringing Qin Yuyang along; it's just the fighting thing…

She straightened her face, stood before Qin Yuyang, lowered her gaze and quietly looked at his somewhat guilty face.

"Why did you fight?"

This was just a perfunctory question; after all, he's my cousin, asking was just a show of concern. Seeing he didn't answer, Wen Ling lazily withdrew her gaze and went with Qin Lao, Wen Lao, and Zhou Yinhe to the garden to have tea and chat.

Qin Yuyang stood where he was, watching them leave, pursed his lips, lowered his head and saw the two cats crouched not far away, watching him.

He thought he was fairly familiar with Hehe, after all Hehe had stayed at the Qin Family for several days, but he didn't expect that as soon as he approached Hehe, Hehe turned and walked away, climbing to the top of the two-meter-high cat tower, leisurely licking its fur, completely ignoring Qin Yuyang.

Hmph remained crouched in place; just as Qin Yuyang reached out to pet it, it gave a fierce snort, startling him so he dared not reach out again.

He held his hands behind his back, hesitantly walked into the yard, saw the four sitting not far away laughing and chatting, and pressed his lips, feeling wronged.

His smartwatch rang; he lifted his wrist to glance—it was his sister-in-law, likely calling to scold him.

He didn't dare to answer, but the four not far away all turned their gaze on him, his cheeks flushed, yet he still answered.

As soon as he answered, the other side's tirade came through, every word saying he was clueless, foolish, and so on; compared to the Qin Family father and son, this young lady's temper could be who knows how many times more volatile.

The children's smartwatch was loud; Wen Ling propped her chin, pricked up her ears to listen to Qin Yuyang being scolded, fingers covering her mouth that couldn't close, and whispered to Zhou Yinhe: "Shutong is so fierce, my brother's having a rough time."

Zhou Yinhe glanced at her and said: "Are you feeling sorry for your brother, or do you think it's impressive and want to learn?"

"Of course I want to learn… I feel sorry for my brother." Wen Ling curved her lips and smiled at Zhou Yinhe, quickly changed the subject, and asked Qin Lao: "Grandpa, have Qin Yuyang's things been packed?"

"They're packed."

Zhou Yinhe said to the two elders: "This time we're going, we might as well take a private jet—it's more comfortable and not troublesome."

Wen Lao nodded: "Actually, it's troublesome for you; since we came to Sijiucheng, everything has been you keeping busy."

Zhou Yinhe modestly shook his head; Wen Ling raised her hand and furtively flicked the back of his hand, shooting him a look with three words—'Really good at pretending.'

Zhou Yinhe replied with four words—'Thanks for the praise.'

Wen Ling rolled her eyes, withdrew her gaze, and continued listening to Qin Yuyang being scolded.

No one knew how long the scolding lasted; Liushutong finally let Qin Yuyang off, gave a final reminder, then hung up.

"Follow Grandpa; you'd better behave. When the time comes, I'll call Wen Ling—if I hear her say you're clueless, I'll rush straight to Guishan to find you."

Qin Yuyang approached them with tears welling up; Qin Lao didn't want to bother with him, but Wen Lao called him over to his side.

"Yuyang, how can a big man still be crying? What did your sister-in-law say about you?"

Qin Yuyang felt a bit embarrassed, but after all, at this age, the more people care about him, the more he wants to cry; he sobbed: "She, she said if I, if I don't behave, she'll come to Guishan and beat me."
