Chapter 249: Grand Finale (Part 1)

~8 min read 1,421 words

Zhou Yinhe hugged Wen Ling, coquettishly saying, "Baobao, we're home."

Wen Ling, supporting him alone, was already finding it difficult; she gave a perfunctory "mm" twice, trudging outwards with difficulty.

Finally getting into the car, after Wen Ling greeted the four people, she told the driver to hurry home.

Zhou Yinhe leaned against Wen Ling, restless, rubbing and groping here and there, unable to contain his excitement.

"We're getting married, Baobao, you're going to marry me, hehe."

"I finally got what I wished for, Baobao, I'm so happy."

Wen Ling lowered her gaze to look at him, amusedly asking, "Then you don't have to keep pulling someone to chat all night, do you?"

Zhou Yinhe, however, didn't take the bait, continuing his drunken talk, leaving Wen Ling helpless yet soft-hearted.

After returning home, Hehe and Heng heng came running over, but Zhou Yinhe no longer had the mind to attend to them; Wen Ling could only support Zhou Yinhe with one hand while coaxing the two with the other.

Throwing Zhou Yinhe back onto the bed, Wen Ling took a deep breath, pinching her waist as she looked at Zhou Yinhe.

There's nothing to be done; just bear it for the one you like.

But she never expected Zhou Yinhe to be this clingy.

Wen Ling originally wanted Zhou Yinhe to sleep in the bedroom by himself; she had just broken out in a sweat, planning to take a bath and then sleep in the guest room, because the alcohol smell on Zhou Yinhe was too strong, she feared it would also make her faint.

Who would have thought that as soon as she entered the bathroom and turned on the water, Zhou Yinhe staggered in, ignoring Wen Ling standing under the spray, and lunged straight at her.

"Why didn't you stay with me, taking a shower secretly?"

Wen Ling helplessly raised her hand to cover her chest, preventing Zhou Yinhe from messing around and touching randomly, "Can you just go lie down honestly?"

"No, you wash me." Zhou Yinhe said, then went to strip off his own clothes.

"You're drunk, you can't take a shower." Wen Ling tried to persuade him, but Zhou Yinhe couldn't listen to her anymore and lunged straight at her.

Wen Ling, on one hand, had to guard against him fainting, and on the other hand, had to endure his excessive movements.

As she walked out of the bathroom, Wen Ling was utterly exhausted in body and mind.

Meanwhile, Zhou Yinhe, still carrying the lingering ease and alcohol buzz from his recent revelry, quickly fell asleep.

Wen Ling knelt on one knee beside him, gritting her teeth, wishing she could bite him to death; if it weren't for the imminent wedding, she would definitely bite his face and disfigure him!

The next morning, Zhou Yinhe woke up early; due to his hangover and having just taken a shower, he felt somewhat unwell.

He got up, suppressing his cough, hurriedly left the bedroom, went to the second-floor balcony and coughed hard a few times; his head also felt heavy, and his nose now felt a bit stuffy.

When Wen Ling woke up, he had already put on a mask and kept a distance of three meters from her.

"What's wrong with you?"

Zhou Yinhe muttered, "I've caught a slight cold; don't get too close, lest you catch it—I'll go to the hospital later."

Wen Ling frowned and stepped forward, wanting to touch him, but Zhou Yinhe reflexively stepped back to avoid her.

She felt a bit guilty, but Zhou Yinhe didn't mind, only saying, "Don't catch it; I'll get over my cold quickly."

"I'll accompany you to the hospital." Wen Ling thought of him going to the hospital alone, and her heart ached.

Zhou Yinhe lifted his phone and shook it, saying, "I have someone with me, don't worry; rest well at home, I'll have them come over later to disinfect this place—I won't come keep you company until I'm better."

Wen Ling bit her lip and softly said, "It's my fault for not taking good care of you last night."

"It's my own problem—I drank too much and even kept you up all night." Zhou Yinhe felt even more guilty than Wen Ling.

Watching Zhou Yinhe get into the car and drive off, Wen Ling felt a bit annoyed with herself, but then she received a call from Ning Qing.

"Ah Ling, Xiao Wu told me you feel guilty because he caught a cold," Ning Qing said in a light tone, chuckling as she soothed, "It's fine, don't take it to heart; he also told me it's not his own fault, right? Having drunk that much and still needing you to look after him—that's just him being immature."

Wen Ling crouched beside Hehe and Heng heng, watching them eat, and said in a sullen tone, "It's my fault for not taking good care of him; with the wedding just around the corner, I've let him catch a cold and suffer."

Upon hearing that, Ning Qing hurriedly said, "You're not allowed to think that way; in our family, girls never look after boys—from your grandparents down to your older brother and his wife, no girls have ever looked after boys."

Wen Ling's mood improved a little, but she still worried about Zhou Yinhe.

Ning Qing seemed to know what she was thinking, "Rest assured, Congyu is keeping her company."

Wen Ling finally relaxed a bit.

Fortunately, Zhou Yinhe recovered two days before the wedding; otherwise, Wen Ling and he would have been devastated.

They didn't have the custom of not seeing each other before the wedding, so they were lovey-dovey right up to the eve of the wedding.

Later, when recalling the events of the wedding day, Wen Ling's memories were somewhat confused and blurry; from the start to later returning to the bridal chamber, her mind held only what happened in the bridal chamber.

The bridal chamber was decorated in a somewhat traditional style, having adopted Wen Lao's opinion; although Wen Lao had lived all his life in M Country, his heart remained that of a Hua Guo person.

Everything was a sea of red; Wen Ling felt somewhat helpless, sitting on the bed's edge, she eased the ache in her feet from wearing high heels all day.

Seeing this, Zhou Yinhe went to fetch hot water, knelt beside Wen Ling's legs, and attended to her as she washed her feet.

"They want us to go downstairs to play; do you want to go?"

Wen Ling felt torn; she wanted to go, but she also felt very tired.

Sensing her mood, Zhou Yinhe smiled softly and said, "It's fine; if you don't want to go, we'll play together after you've rested."

He lowered his gaze, massaging the soles of Wen Ling's feet, and sighed, "Actually, I don't want to go either; I'm just afraid something might happen—thankfully we already have our marriage license, but I'm still scared."

Wen Ling swayed her ankle and said softly, "Then let's not go; let's properly enjoy our bridal night."

Zhou Yinhe laughed and nodded.

He lowered his head to kiss Wen Ling; his eyes were moist, and tears fell with his kiss and movements onto her body.

Wen Ling's cheeks were flushed; she raised her hand to cup Zhou Yinhe's face and said in a hoarse voice, "Don't cry; tomorrow your eyes will swell, and if Mom and Dad see that, they'll think I bullied you."

She spoke haltingly; Zhou Yinhe's voice was hoarse yet clear as he bit her earlobe and whispered, "It won't be like that; they'll only be happy for me."

The light was dim, only a single yellow wall lamp remained, but it was enough for Zhou Yinhe to see Wen Ling's face clearly.

"Wife, quickly say you love me."

Wen Ling bit her lip, raised her hand and slapped him, "I love you, I love you."

"You have to call me husband, wife; if you don't call me husband, how will I know who you love in your heart?"

His mischievousness grew stronger, so Wen Ling had no choice but to comply, repeatedly calling him "husband."

He said something in Wen Ling's ear, Wen Ling widened her eyes and quickly shook her head, biting her lip and said: "Don't."

"It's not necessarily going to happen all at once..."

Wen Ling didn't have time to stop him, Zhou Yinhe had already followed his own intention, Wen Ling lowered her head and bit his neck and shoulder.
