Chapter 251: Extra Chapter: The Life of the Despised Zhou Little Dog

~7 min read 1,387 words

After Zhou Yu'an was born, Zhou Yinhe and Wen Ling basically never again had a perfect two-person world.

Every time Zhou Yinhe was about to do something, Zhou Yu'an would yell and cry, each time letting him vent his frustration.

But he could do nothing about Zhou Yu'an, who was cherished by his parents, older brothers, and sisters.

Wen Ling hung up the nanny's call, smiled and pushed him aside, got up and went downstairs to the nursery, where the nanny was holding and soothing the red-faced, crying Zhou Yu'an, but it was just thunder without rain, looking like fake crying no matter how you looked at it.

But upon seeing Wen Ling, Zhou Yu'an's crying paused, and when he cried again, his tears fell like a broken string.

Wen Ling felt heartbroken, took her from the nanny's arms, and softly coaxed her.

Since becoming a mother, Wen Ling has been full of gentle maternal radiance, which shines not only on Zhou Yu'an but even on Zhou Yinhe.

Sometimes when Wen Ling and Zhou Yu'an stayed together for a while, then went to be alone with Zhou Yinhe, the maternal radiance had not yet faded, shining solidly on Zhou Yinhe.

Especially at that time, when Zhou Yinhe and Zhou Yu'an were fighting over food.

Wen Ling would often pat Zhou Yinhe's head, and sometimes hum a tune she used to soothe Zhou Yu'an, making Zhou Yinhe angry and bully her even more.

At this moment, Wen Ling was holding and soothing Zhou Yu'an when Zhou Yinhe walked in with his hair messed up from his scratching, saw Zhou Yu'an constantly rubbing against Wen Ling's front, he chuckled lightly, arms crossed, watching the scene from the side.

The nanny softly said, "Madam, the young lady must be hungry."

Wen Ling was taken aback; the nanny timely walked out of the nursery, giving her space.

Wen Ling lowered her gaze at Zhou Yu'an in her arms, who kept tugging at her clothes, hesitated a moment, then undid her clothing.

Zhou Yu'an got what she wanted, but soon after let out a wail and cried again; the food was gone, thanks to that bastard Zhou Yinhe.

Seeing Zhou Yu'an cry so pitifully, Zhou Yinhe couldn't help laughing, leisurely walked over to her, stroked her little face, then turned and left the nursery to go prepare formula for Zhou Yu'an.

After finally waiting for Zhou Yu'an to fall asleep, with the nanny watching over her, Wen Ling and Zhou Yinhe then returned to the upstairs room.

As soon as they entered the room, Wen Ling kicked Zhou Yinhe, angrily saying, "Next time you do this, I'll sleep with Yu'an."

Zhou Yinhe, thick-skinned, stepped forward and hugged Wen Ling, his hand not staying honest, resting on the spot he had been working on before leaving the room, and softly said, "You've been treating me like a child, coaxing me; can't I even snatch a bite to eat from Yu'an?"

Angered, Wen Ling hit him once.

The next day, the family of three, together with the nanny, headed to Feng Qi Yuan, because Ning Qing had called, saying Zhou Shuanglin had mentioned little Yu'an several times, surely missing his precious granddaughter, and asked them to bring Yu'an to stay at Feng Qi Yuan for a few days.

Wen Ling had no objection either way; besides, it was almost Spring Festival, and they would eventually move there anyway, only Zhou Yinhe was not too keen.

"Can't we let Yu'an stay at his parents' for a few days and we go back to our own home?"

"... How can you be a father like that?" Wen Ling laughed angrily, twisted his arm, and made Zhou Yu'an, who was clinging to her, giggle.

Seeing his daughter laugh happily, Zhou Yinhe gritted his teeth: "How can you joke about your own father like that? Does getting hit make you this happy?"

Zhou Yu'an didn't know whether he understood or not, but Wen Ling gave him a white-eyed look: "You're ready to abandon her, yet you won't let her tease you?"

Zhou Yinhe couldn't win against the two of them, gave a soft hum, and, fearing Zhou Yu'an would tire Wen Ling, forcibly took Zhou Yu'an from her arms.

Seeing Zhou Yu'an about to cry, Zhou Yinhe quickly covered her mouth with his hand, softly saying, "If you cry, later you won't be allowed to play with Hehe and Hengheng."

Whether or not she understood, Zhou Yu'an was well-behaved the whole way and didn't ask Wen Ling for a hug.

Upon arriving at Feng Qi Yuan, from afar they saw the car coming; Ning Qing and Zhou Shuanglin were waiting at the door, especially Zhou Shuanglin, who appeared calm on the surface but had been wringing her hands an unknown number of times.

Ning Qing saw it all, secretly smiled, and did not expose her face-conscious husband.

But when Zhou Yinhe got out of the car holding Zhou Yu'an, she immediately took him and placed him into the longing arms of Zhou Shuanglin, who had been eagerly awaiting this.

Zhou Shuanglin held Zhou Yu'an, not even giving her son a glance, gave Wen Ling a warm nod, then turned and entered the villa.

Ning Qing couldn't hold back, let out a puff of laughter, took Wen Ling's hand and walked inside, leaving Zhou Yinhe, the neglected son who hadn't been favored for who knows how long.

As soon as they entered, they saw Zhou Yu'an stretching out her little hands, insisting on finding Hehe and Hengheng.

Since Zhou Yu'an grew a bit older, the family of three returned together to Chen Yue Fu, while Hehe and Hengheng stayed happily at Feng Qi Yuan and never followed them, since they often came back.

Zhou Shuanglin doted on her granddaughter, holding Zhou Yu'an as they squatted by the cat's nest; Ning Qing took Wen Ling's hand and sat on the sofa, pressing a cup of hot tea into her palm.

"The weather is cold; first drink something to warm your body."

Wen Ling obediently nodded, lifted the tea, and took two sips.

Ning Qing lightly laughed: "This time we're back, let's stay a few more days; it just so happens your older brother and sister-in-law are returning from overseas the day after tomorrow, and then I'll call back your second brother and sisters, so we can all gather and be even livelier."

Zhou Yinhe leaned against the sofa, gave a soft hum: "The older brother and sister-in-law are quite leisurely."

Since Zhou Yu'an was born, the burdens on Zhou Yanqiu and Shang Zhiyu have lightened considerably; now that there's a little one to first appease the parents, they're not in a hurry, and taking advantage of still having no children, they began traveling the world.

Wen Ling frowned slightly, then kicked Zhou Yinhe in the leg, whoever let him speak without restraint.

"Don't mind him." Ning Qing glared at Zhou Yinhe, pulled Wen Ling aside for a private chat, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law laughed happily, directly ignoring Zhou Yinhe.

No one paid attention to him, so Zhou Yinhe had no choice but to seek out his own father and daughter, but they were only busy playing with Hehe and Hengheng, ignoring him as well; angry, Zhou Yinhe stood with hands on hips in the center of the living room for a long time, particularly conspicuous, yet also an eyesore.

At least Zhou Shuanglin thought so.

"If you're really idle, go to work; stop being a wooden post here."

After waking up, Zhou Yinhe didn't even have time to open his own company before chasing after Wen Ling; now Zhou Shuanglin has firmly assigned him a position, he doesn't need to go to work often, but he still has to report in.

The condition for not going to work is that he must take care of Zhou Yu'an, but now Zhou Yu'an has someone looking after her here, so Zhou Yinhe doesn't need to be an eyesore in this place.

Zhou Yinhe's chest heaved with anger; he glanced at Zhou Yu'an, whom he had tossed behind his back, then at Wen Ling, and decided to still cling to Wen Ling.

Regardless of Ning Qing watching nearby, Zhou Yinhe sat beside Wen Ling and simply lay down, resting his head on her lap.
