Chapter 10: Chapter Nine: The Nine Grades of Dao Bodies, and the Immortal Body

But in his sensing, it was blurred and unclear; he could only faintly perceive that faint trace of Black Tortoise divine intent.

"Hmm, it also involves the true spirit of the Black Tortoise?"

"Is it connected to that old fellow?"

His heart was filled with questions and wariness. The true spirit of the Black Tortoise was no easy existence to provoke—could some powerful force be meddling from behind?

His demonic will flowed, and a wisp of intent merged back into that Space-Time Gate.

At the same time, following His will, a Returning Void demonic shadow revived from the earth, knelt prostrate on the ground, and worshipped this existence.

The broken Space-Time Gate fell directly before this Returning Void demonic shadow.

"Nian Qi, head to the void and monitor the Yuanling Realm."

In Chen Daoxuan's perception, this World Origin possessed an almost creation-like power.

Whether it was raising cultivation realm, extending lifespan, strengthening the foundation of cultivation, or enhancing comprehension of the Great Dao.

But in a single thought, Chen Daoxuan guided the World Origin remaining within his body into his Shui Xing Dao Ti.

Among Dao Bodies, the weaker ones—like Chen Daoxuan's Shui Xing Dao Ti—contain only a trace of dao origin.

They are merely the most basic of Dao Bodies.

This basic Dao Body, even with a suitable inheritance, can only aid in condensing Law Imprints, make it easier to condense a Primordial Spirit, and break through the bottleneck of the Soul Egress stage.

But that is as far as it goes.

As for Heaven and Earth Dao Bodies, the stronger ones can contain the dao origin of one, or even several, nearly complete Great Daos, providing boundless assistance before the Combined Body Stage.

Even certain Dao Bodies have boundless wondrous uses at the Combined Body Stage, and even at the Crossing Tribulation Stage.

It is precisely because of this enormous gap.

That in the Great Universe, Dao Bodies are subdivided into nine grades.

Above the basic Dao Body, there are eight further grades: Heaven, Earth, Mystic, Huang, Universe, Flood, Wild, and Huang.

Among these eight grades, the Heaven grade is the strongest, and the Huang grade the weakest.

As for the Immortal Body above the Dao Body, it contains at minimum the dao origin of an entire Great Dao—and a Great Dao without any flaw or contamination.

Theoretically, it is a constitution that guarantees one will become an immortal.

Before achieving immortality, aside from various tribulations, there are no bottlenecks in cultivation realm whatsoever.

Time flowed on, and in the blink of an eye, a full year had passed.

As the demon-corrupted World Origin was purified one portion after another, the speed of purification showed a snowballing trend.

Three months ago, it had taken nine months to purify one twentieth.

But in these three months, one tenth of the demon-corrupted World Origin had been purified.

Just then, as another wisp of World Origin was absorbed by his Dao Body.

Chen Daoxuan suddenly sensed that his Shui Xing Dao Ti, nurtured by the one ten-thousandth of World Origin left behind, had now grown to a limit and was about to undergo a sublimation and metamorphosis.

In the unseen realm, Chen Daoxuan knew he had two choices.

The first was to continue strengthening the dao origin of the Dao of Water, reinforcing the Shui Xing Dao Ti.

The second was, on the foundation of the Dao of Water, to choose to derive the dao origin of other Great Daos, becoming a composite Dao Body containing more than one Great Dao.

To derive other Great Dao Laws on the foundation of that single thread of Great Dao contained within the Shui Xing Dao Ti.

"Five Elements, Yin-Yang, Chaos…"

Three kinds of Great Dao choices.

It was just that Chen Daoxuan knew, in some unfathomable way, that with the World Origin of the Yuanling Realm—

The Five Elements Great Dao Origin was the easiest to derive and elevate, Yin-Yang Great Dao was next, ten times harder.

And the Chaos Great Dao Origin was a hundred times harder than Yin-Yang Great Dao.

In other words, a thousand times harder than deriving the Five Elements Great Dao Origin.

In response, in a single thought, Chen Daoxuan chose the Five Elements Great Dao direction—the one most compatible with him, and the one easiest to elevate through the Yuanling Realm's World Origin.

Metal generates Water, Water generates Wood, Wood generates Fire, Fire generates Earth.

The Dao Body undergoing sublimation resonated with it. Within the original Shui Xing Dao Ti, amid the circulation of boundless Dao Rhymes, in the span of a single breath, a wisp of Wood Great Dao Origin surfaced.

Then, within Three Breaths, on the foundation of Wood Great Dao, another wisp of Fire Great Dao Origin surfaced.

After Nine Breaths, yet another wisp of Earth Great Dao Origin was born.

Only then did this Dao Body sublimation come to an end.

Chen Daoxuan clearly perceived that his sensitivity to the Wood, Fire, and Earth Great Daos had also reached a level equivalent to that of Water Great Dao.

But the four Great Daos—Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth—merging within his body faintly showed signs of instability.

In response, Chen Daoxuan merely circulated the Black Tortoise True Scripture to forcibly suppress it, paying no heed to the hidden dangers within.

He then continued to preside over the Heavenly Heart Mark, and together with the Heavenly Heart Consciousness, purify the World Origin and obtain World Origin.

To nurture and elevate the Dao Body.

Outside Chen Daoxuan's Zhen Chuan Ling Feng.

Four True Disciples wearing the law-enforcement robes of the Shanhai Immortal Sect's Enforcement Hall and holding official posts, together with one ordinary True Disciple—five people in all—descended from the sky.

The leader among them produced a scroll of dharma decree and directly issued a Dharma True Word that spread across ten thousand li.

"True Disciple Chen Daoxuan, by decree of Elder Tongxuan, you are ordered to report to the Enforcement Hall within ten years."

The Dharma True Word echoed inside and outside the Zhen Chuan Ling Feng.
