Chapter 103: Special Treatment Only for You

~9 min read 1,650 words

Liu Yunmi continued: "Also, there's the awarding for these twenty students."

"Awarding?" Xia Chao Yi slumped in his chair, tone casual, "What does the principal want to do this year?"

Every year at the start of term, award winners would just go up, collect their award, and leave; the students were used to it. Seeing the teacher rarely mention this, he finally asked.

"Who knows? I heard the board members gave a heads-up, wanting things more formal. Liu Yunmi didn't hide it from them."

"Anyway, just try not to be late, young masters and misses; as for where to sit, whether you want to listen, as long as you don't make too much of a fuss, come however you like!"

That remark hit the nail on the head for everyone.

Every year at the opening ceremony, the front-row VIP seats are the Student Council members' spots!

And most of the Student Council are from Class A; ninety-nine percent of Class A members join the Student Council.

In short, that area is basically their Class A's exclusive seats!

They sat in the front row, and the row right behind, which belonged to Class A, ended up empty.

Some people would sit casually, leaving over half the seats empty, which made the front-row seats stand out even more.

Most of the class either sat there with heads down chatting with neighbors, or simply took out their phones to handle private matters; teachers who saw it pretended not to notice.

Mu Youyu also got used to the atmosphere here.

As Liu Yunmi's words fell, a light laugh came from the back of the classroom; a student looked up and said, "As long as we don't make too much of a fuss, that's fine?"

Liu Yunmi smiled, nodded, then seemed to recall something and added: "But the principal especially emphasized this year that with many freshmen, we need to set an example for the juniors; young masters and misses, if you restrain yourselves a bit more, it would be even better!"

Xia Chao Yi propped his chin and replied: "Don't worry, Little Liu Sis, we get it! Appearances proper, inside we slack off—our main thing is to nail formalities!"

Liu Yunmi, accustomed, said: "That's not wrong; just keep up the surface decorum—I know our Class A is the most well-behaved."

"Absolutely!"

Just as the words fell, the classroom door was gently pushed open.

Jiang Liangjin walked in holding a stack of documents, his black uniform accentuating his sharp shoulders, a Student Council badge pinned on his front, his wine-red bangs slightly drooping over his forehead, his expression indifferent.

He didn't speak, merely lifted his gaze, his eyes sweeping over Mu Youyu's direction.

Mu Youyu smiled at him.

"Brother Jin!" Xia Chao Yi immediately sat up straight, "Little Liu Sis said the opening ceremony requires decorum; as Student Council President, you need to set the example."

"Decorum?"

"Fine."

Jiang Liangjin approached, handed the documents to Gu Xingnan, his voice clear: "A Nan, A Ci, come with me; all Student Council members will go to the auditorium in ten minutes to check the procedure; the rest can go twenty minutes later."

Liu Yunmi smiled, nodded, picked up her lesson plan, and led the way out of the classroom.

The students in the classroom also rose one by one and headed out; as Xia Chao Yi passed by Jiang Liangjin's side, he winked and said, "Brother Jin, you're holding up the scene!"

He then followed Yu Ci out together.

Bai Yun waved at Mu Youyu, "Bye, little Yu! I'm heading out first, see you on stage~"

"Bye."

Mo Song knew she hadn't joined the Student Council, said a word to her, then left.

In Class A, at the moment of sitting down, only Mu Youyu remained.

And Jiang Liangjin kept standing by the door with empty hands.

Mu Youyu blinked: "...?"

Jiang Liangjin looked at her like that, his normally cold expression softening a few degrees; he lowered his voice, with a hint of coaxing: "You really won't join our Student Council?"

All students in Class A, from the Student Council President down to each department member.

Mu Youyu stood up, walked to his side, and spoke candidly: "It's too troublesome—having to attend a bunch of meetings and manage a bunch of trivial matters."

She simply doesn't have the leisure for that.

Jiang Liangjin raised an eyebrow: "No problem, you don't have to handle anything. I'll give you the title of Vice President in name only; you don't need to attend meetings regularly—just show up at events like the opening ceremony awarding, and that's enough. How about that?"

She then reluctantly agreed and followed Jiang Liangjin out.

The two walked side by side along the corridor of a teaching building; Mu Youyu's eyes flickered, she turned her head to look at the person beside her: "A Jin, being an honorary Vice President—won't that be too perfunctory?"

She meant perfunctory toward superiors, perfunctory toward others.

Jiang Liangjin didn't stop his steps: "Not perfunctory—wherever you stand, you are the face of the Student Council."

Hearing that, Mu Youyu's eyes filled with a smile: "You just know how to say pleasant things."

The two walked to the front of the corridor.

She then said: "President Jiang, this is openly practicing special treatment."

Jiang Liangjin's steps paused slightly; as he turned, he just managed to encircle her between the corridor railing and himself, his wine-red hair catching the light from outside the corridor, he looked down at her, tone matter-of-fact: "Special treatment is only for you."

After the principal's declaration.

Jiang Liangjin, speaking as a Student Council representative, became somewhat more known before the entire school's first-year freshmen.

Second- and third-years said they were used to it.

Afterward, it was just some miscellaneous remarks from the freshman representatives.

The Class A students in the front row no longer had the lazy, scattered look from last semester's opening; they were very earnest.

Mu Youyu sat beside Bai Yun, half-asleep.

Until it was the turn of the top twenty from the second-year department to go on stage.

Bai Yun chuckled softly beside her, nudging her with an elbow: "Little Yu, wake up—it's our turn to go on stage! Get the award, then catch some sleep; don't let your Jiang Chairman see you looking so listless."

She roused herself, using Bai Yun's push to sit upright, then followed the crowd ahead slowly toward the side of the stage.

The lights in the auditorium were blindingly bright.

The freshmen's murmurs drifted over, mostly curious about this group from Class A.

"'I heard Class A is all about good family background and good grades—is that true?' a freshman asked curiously."

"Really really! I asked before I came—every year's top twenty are in Class A! Especially Senior Year Class A, there are a bunch of handsome guys and pretty girls; all four of the Five Campus Belles are here, and the three Campus Hunks are here too!" the girl beside said.

"Ahhhh, Young Master Jiang is so handsome! He's the sole heir of the Jiang Family, Student Council President, and his grades still rank first in the year! I heard he even got a recommended admission for winning first place in the physics competition!"

"Family background, looks, and grades—he's got them all, a life winner!"

"Holy shit, the girl next to Young Master Jiang is gorgeous!"

Jiang Liangjin, who had been on the podium, saw Mu Youyu approach, smiled, turned and slowed his steps, coincidentally standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with her at the side of the stage, waiting.

"Heavens, they look like a perfect match!"

"That's right, Mu Campus Belle and Young Master Jiang are the top vote‑getters on our campus network!"

"They're childhood sweethearts… one is a Miss of the Mu Family, the other is the young master of the Jiang Family—I don't know who to envy!"

"Waaah, I envy Mu Campus Belle—Young Master Jiang, Young Master Yu, Young Master Gu childhood sweethearts, or Young Miss Xi!"

Mu Youyu leaned close to Jiang Liangjin beside her and whispered, "What are you still planning to do later?"

Jiang Liangjin lightly touched her hand hanging at her side with his fingertip, his voice lowered to a whisper: "No need, after getting the award I'll take you back to class; I'll have A Nan and A Ci watch over the rest of the proceedings."

"Good!" Mu Youyu's eyes lit up, her drowsiness instantly halved, her voice full of excitement.

This time on stage, the prize money had already been deposited into their cards.

Now it's just a formality.

Holding honor plaques bearing their names and rankings, they pose for a few group photos with the photographer to let the school promote and motivate the freshmen.

However, Lanlin Gaozhong, as a key private high school, mostly admits either the rich or the noble; their future paths are basically set—either study hard to get into a prestigious university or already have a recommended admission, or spend three years here then go abroad to study or inherit the family business.

Afterwards they become leaders in their respective industries, with only others working for them; aside from a few specially admitted students exempt from tuition, who would lack a few ten thousand?

The photographer raised his camera and shouted, "Everyone, look at the lens!"

Mu Youyu had just pulled out a standard faint smile at the corner of her mouth when her arm was lightly bumped by the person beside her.

Jiang Liangjin deliberately stepped half a step closer to Mu Youyu, his warm arm lightly brushing against hers, as if reminding her to lift her head and look at the lens.

As she tilted her head, she happened to meet Jiang Liangjin's smiling gaze; his eyes, framed by wine‑red stray hairs, held a hint of triumphant indulgence.

Her deliberately straightened face collapsed after just two seconds, and the corner of her mouth secretly rose.
