Chapter 102: The Campus Belle Is the Eldest Daughter of the Mu Family

~8 min read 1,419 words

In the blink of an eye, it was early September, the start of the school term.

At the entrance of Lan Lin Gaozhong, the morning rush hour crowd flowed.

Mu Youyu, carrying her newly replaced empty backpack, had just told Mu Xi she didn't need to be escorted inside, then stepped out of the car.

Before she even reached the school gate, she felt several scorching gazes land on her.

She looked up and saw students in twos and threes at the gate stop walking, their phone cameras pointed directly at her.

She could still hear a few deliberately lowered but clear voices discussing her.

"It's Mu Campus Belle! The rumored eldest daughter of the Mu Family!"

"I didn't believe it when they said she rode in Xi's car, but seeing her today standing with Xi really does give off a sibling vibe!"

"No wonder she can wear the robe personally embroidered by Teacher Yan and wear the crown auctioned off by the M Guo royal family—her background must be incredibly strong..."

"Look, the necklace on her neck really is the same as Xi's!"

The students instinctively looked over, seeing the person under discussion wearing a short-sleeve shirt, light brown hair half-tied up, revealing the blue-white diamond necklace identical to Mu Xi's around her neck.

"Ahhhhh, it's truly a match made in heaven with Young Master Jiang!"

Mu Youyu adjusted the straps of her milky-white backpack, lowering her head to open the class group chat on her phone to check the campus map.

After all, the teaching buildings of Lan Lin Gaozhong change every year; she needed to locate the Building Two for sophomores first.

Just then, a girl's voice called from behind: "Mu, Mu classmate?"

She instinctively turned her head, seeing several students.

The leading girl's cheeks were flushed, she still clutched an envelope that looked high-end, and handed it over, saying, "Could you please give this to Mu Xi...?"

Hearing the girl's words, Mu Youyu raised an eyebrow slightly, her tone flat: "My older brother is next door at Nan Feng; if you want to give it to him, go there yourself."

The girl hesitated, "But I gave it to him and he didn't accept it..."

Before she could finish, a soft voice came from outside the crowd: "Make way."

It was Bai Yun.

Though they hadn't seen each other for nearly three months, she had become noticeably paler, her face a bit thinner, wearing a simple short-sleeve.

She squeezed in, grabbed Mu Youyu's wrist, and frowned at the surrounding crowd, "Don't block the way, class is about to start."

Upon seeing Bai Yun, the surrounding girls' expressions changed.

Everyone at Lan Lin knows the Bai Family's eldest daughter looks gentle but is actually not easy to provoke.

After exchanging glances, no one dared say more, they obediently stepped back, making a path.

Mu Youyu, being pulled by her, couldn't help but smile, "Little Yun, long time no see! How was your summer?"

"Not bad! Little You, I've missed you so much~" Bai Yun shook her arm, her tone sweet and clingy.

As she spoke, she pulled Mu Youyu inside, "Right, right, Little You is now a school big shot! The whole school is talking about you!"

Mu Youyu let her lead, "Really? What are they talking about me?"

"Yes! Everything!"

Bai Yun glanced toward the school gate, didn't see a familiar figure, and curiously asked, "Where's Young Master Jiang?"

Shouldn't they have come together?

"He went to the student council." Mu Youyu said casually.

They had originally planned to come to school together.

But on the first day of school, Jiang Liangjin, as student council president, definitely had some things to arrange, so he went early.

He didn't call Mu Youyu.

Bai Yun gave an OK hand gesture, indicating she understood.

Mu Youyu smiled, "Which classroom is our class in Building Two?"

She had learned that at Lan Lin Gaozhong, the teaching building students live in changes every year.

Freshmen are in Building One, sophomores in Building Two, seniors in Building Three.

Bai Yun had checked the class group, so she replied, "Class A is still in the original second-floor spot... Little You, come on, I'll take you there!"

As the two just entered Class A of sophomore year, the classroom chatter halted for a beat, dozens of eyes sweeping over in unison.

Xia Chaoyi was the first to raise his hand, his tone exaggerated: "Big Sis You! You finally came!"

Mo Song handed Mu Youyu a bottle of warm milk, whispering, "I bought it."

"Thanks, Song Song." Mu Youyu glanced at Mo Song.

Over the two-month summer break, her hair had grown a bit, she wasn't wearing glasses, and her complexion was more rosy.

Her summer seemed to have gone well.

Mo Song's eyes sparkled, "Big Sis You, you don't know—today just opened, and other classes have sent a bunch of people specifically to our class, wanting to meet you!"

She learned this from overhearing part of the students' conversation at the door.

Mu Youyu took the milk she gave, feeling the warm cup wall in her hand, she couldn't help but smile, "Are they all this curious?"

"How could they not be?" A clear voice interjected.

Leng Yueyou was standing before the mirror tying her hair, hearing this she came over, "Think about it—Mu Family's eldest daughter, Xi's little sister, one of the three school hunks' childhood friend, able to wear the robe personally made by Teacher Yan, any single identity would make people envy you to death, you've got them all!"

Just as she was saying this, homeroom teacher Liu Yunmi walked in holding her lesson plans, seeing the classroom atmosphere, she smiled and joked, "Looks like the young masters and misses have all arrived quite completely."

Her tone was casual, as if chatting about family matters, with no trace of seriousness.

After all, at Lan Lin Gaozhong, the students who can get into Class A have family backgrounds laid out like this, and their grades and character are good; in the teachers' eyes they are practically delicious treats.

Usually teaching lessons, the Class A students don't need supervision and just naturally rank in the top forty of the grade; each teacher can even collect bonuses for free, teachers assigned to this class are so happy they want to set off fireworks!

The students immediately chimed in.

"That's right! Class A's reputation has always been great! Our cohort is even better than before!"

"Absolutely, absolutely!"

"We are good babies."

Liu Yunmi put down the lesson plan, clapped her hands, "Alright, young masters and misses, don't stand anymore, please find a seat and sit down!"

Xia Chaoyi pointed behind, "Jin Ge, sit here!"

Mu Youyu looked in the direction he pointed; Bai Yun had already sat down in front of the seat to the right of that spot.

She then walked over and sat down behind Bai Yun.

To her right sat Mo Song, and next to Mo Song was Leng Yueyou.

Mu Youyu was drinking a sip of hot milk.

Just then, Gu Xingnan and Yu Ci nodded at Liu Yunmi on stage, entered through the classroom door, and walked straight to behind Mu Youyu.

As Yu Ci passed her, he smiled, "Youbao, long time no see!"

Mu Youyu glanced at the arrivals and narrowed her eyes, "A Ci, A Nan, long time no see!"

Gu Xingnan dropped his bag onto the table, "Long time no see!"

Liu Yunmi watched Gu Xingnan set down his bag, hearing the soft rustle, and instead of frowning, she smiled and waved her hand, "Gu Xingnan, Yu Ci, you just came from the student council? Hurry up and sit; we just happen to need to bring up the opening ceremony."

"Let's bring it up, let's bring it up!" Yu Ci sat down happily.

Liu Yunmi, seeing this, nodded with relief and said: "This year's opening ceremony follows the old routine: at 9:30 a. m. in the auditorium, the procedure you probably know—principal's address, student council representative's speech, plus a few words from the freshman representative."

Liu Yunmi cleared her throat, picked up the roster on the table, and said: "After that, we'll talk about last semester's final grades—our Class A swept the top twenty of the grade!"

"According to school rules, these twenty can each receive a scholarship; the funds have already been deposited into the cards you filled out at enrollment—remember to check when you get back."

Mu Youyu raised her eyebrows; she had indeed received it.
