Chapter 470: My proudest student
Mu Youyu sat in her seat for a while, her fingers stroked over the desk surface.
She and Jiang Liangjin had used this desk for several months, a small sticker was stuck on the surface, and she had never torn it off.
It was a sticker Lin Ning had slapped on when she came to play last time, a cartoon cat with squinting eyes.
Jiang Liangjin had somehow come up behind her, followed her gaze, and understood clearly, "Do you want to tear it off and take it with you?"
The sense of ritual that should be there cannot be lacking.
"It's not sticky anymore after tearing it off." Mu Youyu chuckled a bit, "All right, let's go."
The two walked out of the classroom side by side.
In the hallway they bumped into Zhou Laoshi coming toward them, he was holding a stack of materials, seeing the two, he stopped his steps, "You haven't left yet?"
"Come to get something." Mu Youyu smiled sweetly.
"Oh oh, getting something……" Zhou Laoshi's gaze lingered on their faces for a moment, as if he wanted to say something, but it finally became just one sentence, "Rest well, don't be nervous."
Jiang Liangjin: "I know."
"Got it, thank you, Zhou Laoshi." Mu Youyu smiled, pulling Jiang Liangjin past him.
After walking a few steps, she heard from behind Zhou Laoshi's especially gentle tone: "Come on, no matter how you do on the exam, you are my most proud students; this year's top scorer will be you hahahahaha!"
The empty hallway echoed with laughter, even in daytime it felt a bit eerie.
Mu Youyu didn't look back, just raised her hand and waved lightly, quickening her steps.
As they came out of the school gate, Jiang Liangjin curled her lips, "Going back?"
Mu Youyu thought briefly, "Let's go stroll a bit."
Not far from the school there is a dessert shop that has been open for almost a year; the music played inside is basically pure instrumental, unlike the noisy clamor of other places.
The two pushed the door and entered; behind the counter stood a young man in his early twenties, with nothing to do, obviously the manager.
Mu Youyu sat at a tidied spot; Jiang Liangjin went to the counter to order, and soon a server brought back several cakes and two cups of fruit tea.
Mu Youyu picked up that cup of fruit tea, took a sip, her gaze wandered aimlessly around the shop, finally landing on the male student opposite.
The shop had few people; the booths along the wall were mostly empty, only a student in uniform sat in the middle row.
His side face was turned toward them; his uniform was the style of a nearby junior high, the collar loose and sagging, revealing a thin neck.
On the table lay an open math exercise book, half a page filled, and from a distance the handwriting looked neat.
Mu Youyu realized something, pulled out the straw, repositioned, and took a photo.
Jiang Liangjin's hand that had just reached out quickly retracted.
Halfway through the dessert, the young manager behind the counter spoke: "Shang Shang, do you still want this cup? If not, I'll take it away."
The male student she had just been looking at suddenly lifted his head, the motion too hasty, his knee knocked the tabletop, making a dull thud.
He bared his teeth, but didn't have time to feel the pain, quickly turned around, shaking his head and waving his hands toward the manager, his expression exaggerated as if making some secret signal.
Mu Youyu's attention was drawn by his series of actions, her hand paused.
The male student turned around; she could see his face clearly—delicate features, well-formed, a fresh clean look that was striking, his brows and eyes slender.
However, his lips were pressed tightly together, as if restraining something.
The manager was amused by his tense, enemy-facing demeanor, "What are you nervous about? There's no one else."
