Chapter 471: College Entrance Exam
What, nobody else…
Shang You's gaze swept over Mu Youyu and Jiang Liangjin, then quickly withdrew; he shrank back into his chair, wishing he could hide himself in a crack in the wall.
Heavens, if I'd known I wouldn't have come here.
He lowered his volume, speaking at a volume the shop manager could hear, said something; the shop manager chuckled, didn't pursue it, and left with the tray heading back to the kitchen.
Mu Youyu caught a few leaked words and felt something was off.
The voice sounded a bit familiar.
Jiang Liangjin was lowering his head to photograph their small dessert when, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed her dazed expression and lightly raised his brow, asking, "What's wrong?"
Mu Youyu narrowed her eyes and lowered her voice: "I just feel that person's voice is a bit familiar."
Jiang Liangjin glanced over, saw the person's side profile, then looked away, asking, "Where is it familiar? I don't know him."
Just the voice.
The guy behind, unsure if he had heard, tensed up further, shoulders hunched, his whole body like a cat with its fur puffed.
Shang You secretly reassured himself over and over: they had only met once, and that was when he was fully armed; now his face and that of "Ai'ai" were separated by a galaxy—even fiery eyes and golden pupils couldn't possibly recognize them.
... But what if?
His mind began frantically recalling Mu Youyu's details.
The senior brother's sister, or rather the sister of the child prodigy Mu Xin—she must be smart, with an excellent memory.
It seemed he suddenly realized what Mu Youyu had said, and his expression froze.
No way, how could this person still tell his voice? Damn!
The more he thought, the more panicked he became; Shang You snapped his tablet shut, stacked the books and held them to his chest, ready to make a quick getaway.
He stood up, his motion too hurried, and the chair scraped the floor with an unpleasant noise.
Mu Youyu despised such noise, and instinctively glanced over.
Shang You was already striding forward with the books in his arms, lowering his voice to tell the shop manager, "I'm leaving now; I'll come again next time."
Mu Youyu felt the voice even more familiar.
The shop manager didn't press further: "Alright, take care on the road!"
Shang You practically jogged out the door, pushing it open and kicking up a gust; he almost tripped on the doorframe but didn't care.
Seeing the gossiping person leave, Mu Youyu scooped a spoonful of dessert, stopped paying attention to that side, and turned to chat with Jiang Liangjin about post-exam plans.
"Where do you want to go play after the exam?" Jiang Liangjin scooped a spoonful of another bowl's small cake and gently brought it to her lips.
Mu Youyu naturally opened her mouth and ate, saying, "First, I'll sleep for a few days."
Jiang Liangjin took back his fork, placed it on the plate's edge, unhurried, and asked, "And then?"
"Then after celebrating Brother Huaiyu's birthday, we'll go to Y Guo to visit my maternal grandfather; my maternal grandmother said she's also going there, so I can accompany Niannian for a stroll."
"Wow." Jiang Liangjin gave an encouraging interjection, "And then what?"
"Next, we'll come back to C Shi to prepare for college." Mu Youyu raised her chin and added, "Perfect."
"You've thought of everything really thoroughly."
Yesterday we were leisurely chatting about where to go after the exam; today, as soon as we opened our eyes, it was the day of the college entrance exam.
At dawn, the whole household was on standby.
Mu Grandfather and Grandmother personally oversaw breakfast; the servant, frightened, arranged the platters more meticulously than ever.
Mu Nian's car had long been parked at the entrance, continuously honking the key fob; even after Mu Grandfather glared at him a few times, he didn't stop, while Yan Yuejiu stood to the side with an amused expression.
Mu Xi stood at the stairway entrance, waiting to be the first to greet his sister.
Mu Xin stood at his side, inevitably feeling regret that he couldn't take the college entrance exam in the same year as his sister.
Jiang Liangjin had arrived early, wearing a clean shirt, holding his own documents in one hand, with the other hand ready to hold hers at any moment.
