Chapter 507: Bipolar Polaris (Second update, please subscribe!)

~7 min read 1,201 words

There are two colors of magnetic energy: blue and green.

Miss Polaris, that is Lorna, her magnetic energy manifests as green, the same as the true color of her hair.

When she tried to control the silver long-blade, her ability had already dropped.

Incidentally, when Clarice threw the glass bottle at John, she also dropped abilities: teleportation and super strength.

With the same ability, Lorna was far inferior to her father; she couldn't control the Earth's magnetic field, couldn't release a magnetic field, and her flight was shaky—it was only good for a laugh.

Even with metal, she could only control small, light objects; moving a stadium or flying a bridge was simply impossible.

As for comparing with Su Quan...

Su Quan not only had her ability, but on top of that, he had stacked three 'Magneto' abilities. How could she compare?

It is no exaggeration to say that when it comes to the ability to control magnetic fields, Su Quan is second to none!

Lorna was shown up by Su Quan's operation of using her own green magnetic energy against her, and she was completely stunned.

The look of astonishment in their eye contact gradually turned sharp. She spoke with a cold, chilling tone: "What is your relationship with him!"

By "him," she meant Magneto, right?

Su Quan shook his head: "No relationship."

Lorna frowned: "Do you know who I'm talking about?"

Su Quan shrugged noncommittally. For you, who else could it be? It must be Magneto.

Come to think of it, Magneto really isn't a qualified father.

Not to mention the Quicksilver of the new timeline; Magneto doesn't even know he's his son, or even that he has a son.

The Miss Polaris before him, with her complex emotions, is even more miserable; she inherited Magneto's ability and knows he is her father, but she has never even seen his face.

At least Quicksilver has dealt with Magneto.

Among Magneto's children, the only one who felt fatherly love was Sister Nina, the one born during the period when Magneto was living under an assumed name in 【X-Men: Apocalypse】.

She possessed the talent to communicate with animals and could mentally control them.

Compared to the "eldest sister" Scarlet Witch and the "second sister" Polaris, Sister Nina had the lowest fame, the least screen time, the weakest strength, and died the earliest.

She hadn't even reached adulthood before she died.

"Everyone, trouble is coming."

John listened to the movement outside and reminded them with a grave expression.

Lorna glanced at Su Quan and turned to run to the window to look outside.

Several police cars were parked outside, and armed police were using the cars for cover; they had clearly locked onto this place.

"At least ten cars, west side, south side, we're about to be surrounded."

John leaned against the wall. As he spoke, the headlights of the police cars outside shone in.

"This is the Atlanta Police Department. We know the fugitives are in the building. Come out now, or we will open fire."

The police outside used a loudspeaker to state their identity and purpose, beginning to urge surrender.

"Window!"

"There is a suspect at the window!"

A police officer spotted Lorna standing in front of the window with her hands raised high.

Lorna looked directly at the police outside, waved her hands downward, and clenched her fists tightly.

Magnetic shock.

In an instant, the lights went out, sparks flew, and all the electronic equipment in the police cars was ruined. The workshop plunged into darkness again.

"Fire!"

Following the shout, bullets shattered the glass and flew in through the window.

Gunfire was deafening, dust flew.

Su Quan held the panicked Clarice and hid behind a wall, watching Lorna stand fearlessly in front of the window, controlling the police officers and throwing them into the police cars.

"Lorna!" John shouted.

"I'm fine, go find a way out," Lorna replied, reflecting several incoming bullets back.

"Bang bang bang—bang bang bang—"

The gunfire weakened slightly, but it was all concentrated on Lorna's side.

Lorna couldn't block the swarm of bullets with her hands alone and gradually became overwhelmed, hiding back behind the wall and no longer fighting head-on.

"Lorna, let's go."

"Run!"

John shouted.

Lorna followed John, unwilling to give up. Su Quan patted Clarice and followed as well.

"Bang!"

John pushed open the locked iron door with force. Outside the door was an alley, and their car was parked there.

"Quick, this way."

John pulled Su Quan and Clarice toward the car, helped them open the back door, and then went around to the driver's seat, preparing to drive.

Lorna, who was covering the rear, hadn't gotten into the car yet; she was controlling a police officer and slamming him repeatedly into a trash can nearby.

"Bang—bang—bang—"

Lorna waved her arms one by one; the violence made her look somewhat ferocious, somewhat manic.

Right, she suffered from bipolar disorder, a common mental disorder characterized by both manic and depressive episodes.

Typical symptoms include manic episodes, manifested as a flushed face, bright eyes, increased heart rate, high self-esteem, and violent tendencies, etc.

Four years ago, she participated in a protest against the 'Purifiers,' but the protest escalated into a violent incident.

After being arrested, she wasn't sent to prison but transferred to a psychiatric hospital because the judge who passed the sentence also had a sister with bipolar disorder!

However, what this judge didn't know was that in the violent incident that the protest evolved into, more than a dozen anti-mutant protesters 'accidentally' fell off an overpass; otherwise, even with bipolar disorder, she would have been sent to a maximum-security prison.

Incidentally, a female lawyer named Evangeline found her in the psychiatric hospital. After being discharged, she joined the mutant underground organization and, together with Thunderbird—that is, John—helped mutants in need.

Originally, the person who formed the mutant underground organization should have included a mutant codenamed Eclipse, but many years ago, Eclipse was taken by Su Quan to the Void and became a contestant in the Void Brawl Arena.

And this female lawyer named Evangeline was also extraordinary; she was also a mutant with the ability to turn into a dragon. She helped the X-Men pass messages and chose Lorna as one of the leaders of the mutant underground organization.

Additionally, John was also recruited by her.

"Lorna, come back, come back quickly!"

"We have to retreat!"

John stuck his head out of the car window and shouted anxiously at Lorna, who was advancing instead of retreating.

Lorna turned a deaf ear.

"Stop!"

A large group of police officers chased after her.

A taser hit Lorna, and the police swarmed up, pinning Lorna, who was baring her teeth and wanting to resist, to the ground.

"Tsk... is she always this brave?" Su Quan in the car grinned and asked.

John didn't answer, just slammed his foot on the accelerator, and the car shot out instantly.

Save her?

With so many police, how could they save her?

First, send Su Quan and Clarice back to the base, then find a way to rescue Lorna.

At this moment, he had to stay calm!
