Chapter 10: Chapter Ten: Preplanned Escape
The woman didn't understand her, Axi hurriedly explained, "If you eat roasted meat, you won't feel uncomfortable."
A Tu's mother, after listening, bowed to her again, looking very devout; after the bow she chattered some words Axi couldn't understand, and Nan Qinghuan felt a bit troubled—although she could see the illness and knew how to cure it, it required Herbal Medicine to heal.
She needed Herbal Medicine—white atractylodes, perilla, and poria—to brew the remedy, but she didn't know whether these herbs were available here.
"Axi, we need Herbal Medicine to make the soup."
Axi stood up and scratched her head, "Herb…"
Suddenly she had an idea, "Qinghuan, not far from here the Divine Mountain has a meadow; Sister A Yue always goes there to gather herbs."
Hearing that, she understood, "Take me there to see."
The so‑called Divine Mountain was a karst hill, towering like a sea of stone, layer upon layer.
Quickly, she found those herbs in a vast meadow, then instructed the child's A Mu to brew the medicine as she described; after the child drank it, the effect was remarkable, and the diarrhea stopped soon.
A Tu's mother, seeing the child recovered, kept thanking her and tried to give them some fruit they hadn't dared to eat, but Nan Qinghuan declined and gently warned, "From now on, don't eat raw food; cook it first, understand?"
A Tu's mother didn't understand— they always ate raw food; how could cooked food be eaten? Axi, however, grasped it quickly, "Qinghuan, is it like roasted beast heart?"
Nan Qinghuan nodded, "Smart girl, Axi, you should get the matter done."
Hearing that, Axi felt a bit uneasy, "Qinghuan…"
The moon rose to the treetops, and a grand mating fire ceremony was being held in the forest; the Ying Tribe held this event twice a year, and many wild people found partners they liked, preparing for future generations.
They beat stones and danced beside the Bonfire, primitive and wild.
An older man finally secured a mate, waving his hands and feet in joy; his comical demeanor made the Ying laugh heartily.
He sat in the tree, watching the tribe below revel, and recalled Qinghuan in the Cave, missing her beauty and the wonderful feelings she gave him.
"Ying…"
Suddenly, the lively scene was shattered by A Yue, who shouted Ying's name loudly; she wore a thin Beast Skin and Beast Skirt, and the two round bulges on her chest made the wild people drool, her hair loose, adorned with a Flower garland.
Under the tribe's gaze, she walked to the tree where Ying sat, lifted her head to look up at him; this man was her god.
"Ying, I am willing to be your female, to bear a litter of offspring for you."
Seeing this, A Mu also stepped forward, "Ying, A Yue this female is good."
"Clan Leader, please accept the Shamaness?"
The tribe all spoke to A Yue, giving her more confidence; she had been waiting for this day for a very long time.
A flash of displeasure crossed Ying's eyes, then he leapt down; A Yue, seeing him descend, thought he would accept her, and respectfully removed her Flower garland to give to Ying, "Ying"
Ying reached out, tearing her garland apart, coldly refusing, "I already have a female; she is Qinghuan. Don't mention her again, return to the Cave."
A Yue saw her garland ripped onto the ground, stomped in anger yet remained defiant, "Why? That female is so petite and frail; she cannot bear you healthy offspring. You should choose me—I am both a witch and a Shaman Healer; only we are the most suitable pair."
