Chapter 1498: Encountered planted spies

The next morning,

I woke up late. After getting out of bed, I started doing my morning routine. The routine lasted for one hour.

Then I went to the bathroom to take a shower. I spent 20 minutes in the bath. After walking out, I changed into fresh clothes.

The clothes were common warrior clothes. It was not the uniform of Star University.

I didn’t use any mask to cover my face because the whole idea was to lure out the planted spies. The mission was to find them.

The problem with the planted spies was that they were part of the Territory. Most of them had already been wiped out by Dean Jerome.

There were still lurking forces here. I gained some clarity in my thoughts. Then I took a deep breath before opening the door and walking out.

I looked outside and saw the bright daylight. The skies were blue. The sound of birds chirping could be heard. Then I observed the place for a few minutes.

Then I walked downstairs and reached the first floor.

There were customers coming and going. I turned towards the staff behind the help desk. They looked at me as well, so I nodded to them.

I exited the inn. I decided to have some food. I came to the main street. My gaze swept across the place. There were businesses running across the street.

I saw one of the good restaurants. There was a considerable crowd inside. Then I walked towards the shop. I went inside and found an empty table.

Then I sat down and waited for the staff to come. When the staff came, I ordered a few foods. The staff left to get the food ready.

At the same time, I began to hear the conversations in the shop. I perked up my ears to listen to the conversation.

I wanted to know what the people were talking about.

"The crimes are increasing day by day. The administration is not paying attention to that."

"Most of the robberies are done by the powerful Warriors."

"We have to be careful."

"Ah, it’s the job of the officials to do their job."

The warriors were talking to each other. They were not the only ones who were talking. There were warriors at other tables discussing the same thing.

I was surprised. I didn’t expect the crime rates to be this high. I continued to listen to more conversations.

I was here to find the planted spies, so I was expecting someone to speak about Star University.

Suddenly, I heard my name at one of the tables.

Five middle-aged people with burly builds were seated around a circular table.

"That brat Zack Lockwood has left Star University."

"The higher-ups have left the city to look for his whereabouts."

"If they find him, then they will get huge rewards."

"Damn, if we could get some of that wealth, it would be great."

The warriors started discussing it. On the other hand, I was listening to their conversations. I had to confirm whether they were planted spies or not.

They had yet to discuss the foreign creature. I decided to follow these people. Why did their higher-ups want to capture me?

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes.

Soon, the staff brought my food. He placed it on the table. Then I began to enjoy the food. At the same time, I kept an eye on those people.

10 minutes later,

The five warriors stood up and were about to leave the shop. Seeing that, I stopped eating. Then I immediately paid the bill before leaving the shop.

The five people had already left the shop earlier. My gaze swept across the street. I immediately used my perception. My mental power covered the surrounding area in a circle.

Then I saw the five warriors behind the street. The next second, I entered the next alley to reach the wide road behind.

When I got there, I encountered the five warriors. I ran right into them.

The five middle-aged people were taken aback. They were all Gold and Purple Mark Warriors.

"Hey, young man. Where are your eyes?"

"Hey, his face seems to be familiar."

"Who are you, young man?"

The middle-aged men asked back-to-back questions.

Hearing that, I decided to play along.

"I have got a mission from the foreign creatures. They have told us to leave the city. Our identities were exposed," I said to them.

Gasp!

The faces of the five people changed drastically. They looked at the young man. They found the young man was terrified as well.

Suddenly, one of the five warriors got flustered.

"If it’s true, then we have to leave the city. If the people in Star University find out, then they will destroy the whole family behind us," he said in a grim tone.

"You stupid!"

The second warrior said.

"We don’t know whether he is speaking the truth or not," he added.

The three remaining warriors looked toward the young man.

"Tell me, who are you?" a Purple Mark Warrior asked.

Hearing that, I remained silent. But I was excited. I was finding it hard to control the excitement.

Swoosh!

Then I darted out from the spot. In a flash, I appeared before the Purple Mark Warrior.

The burly middle-aged man was stunned at first. Then he sneered. He saw the strength of the young man. He was only a Gold Mark Warrior.

Boom!

The other warriors had the same thought as well. Once they captured him, then they would interrogate everything from him.

Boom!

The burly man punched forward.

I evaded the punch. A purple-colored lightning covered my fist. The next second, I rocketed my fist forward.

In the blink of an eye, a powerful fist landed on the chest of the Purple Mark Warrior.

Boom!

The next second, the Purple Mark Warrior felt like a huge mountain slammed into his chest.

He was sent flying away. His body went in a parabolic arc before crashing into the ground.

The faces of the other warriors changed drastically. I didn’t give them a chance either. I quickly appeared next to them and struck them using my fist.

Boom!

In a few minutes, the four warriors crashed onto the ground.
