Chapter 201: Car Hijacking (Please Request Monthly Tickets!)

~6 min read 1,131 words

Silence.

After Luo Rui's shout, the platform remained utterly silent, as if no one were aboard the train.

Seeing no response, Luo Rui lost patience—he would never wait for the enemy's main force to return—and decisively waved to his teammates.

"Brothers, prepare to surround the train!"

Hearing Luo Rui's order, a large man immediately climbed onto the machine gun turret, pulled back the bolt, and aimed directly at the train before firing.

Dōng dōng dōng dōng dōng!

The heavy machine gun roared deafeningly, pouring a torrent of bullets onto the side armor of the Infinite Train, instantly sparking everywhere.

Some women in the living carriages immediately flattened themselves to the ground in terror.

After a round of suppression fire, engine roars erupted as several vehicles burst forth from both sides of the platform; hidden figures hurled smoke grenades and incendiary bombs toward the train.

Hōng hōng hōng!

In an instant, smoke obscured vision; incendiary bombs exploded along the tracks and train sides, slowly burning.

Inside the train, Shasha in Car 2, seeing the enemy finally move, clenched her teeth hard, grabbed the communicator: "Sister Shuqin, we're moving—watch for flanking, don't let them retreat back into the city."

"Understood." Shuqin's voice came through the communicator.

At that moment, Shasha rubbed her hands together, exhaled sharply, and pressed a button.

Dā dā dā!

Smoke billowed across the platform; gunfire erupted from all sides, surrounding the train—some hid behind vehicles, others behind platform buildings, some in the woods, all firing in unison. Their goal wasn't to pierce the train's steel plates, but to provide layered cover for their comrades closing in.

Fatty, leading a few men, carried several glass jars filled with disgusting white parasites, constantly shifting position through the smoke as they advanced toward the train.

"Brothers, suppress their fire—let Fatty and his team push forward!" Luo Rui shouted into his radio, when suddenly an informant inside the city reported:

"Brother Rui, the group inside the city looks like they're preparing to retreat back."

"Perfect! I'll net them all! Ding Qing won't dare do it—I will. Two psychics? As long as they're not bulletproof, my 12. mm vehicle-mounted heavy machine gun will teach them humility!"

"Brother Rui, there's movement on the train!"

Just as Luo Rui's bloodlust surged, one of his subordinates suddenly shouted to him.

He immediately looked up—just then, a hydraulic mechanical sound rang out, and the roof of the rear car of the train suddenly opened.

Then, a massive weapon slowly rose into everyone's line of sight.

Dā dā dā… dā dā…

Instantly, the covering fire paused. Many stared at the rising device, their expressions freezing.

Some looked confused, others bewildered, some frowned, a few squinted closely, muttering:

"W-what the hell is that?"

Luo Rui stared at the device, his heart suddenly sank—his earlier surge of adrenaline felt instantly doused by a bucket of ice water.

"Da Liu." He pulled over a bespectacled man beside him, pointed at the rising device, eyes wide: "Why wasn't this in the intel?"

"I—I don't know! Is that some kind of cannon?"

Ū~

In an instant, the silence was broken by the whirring of the CIWS's base motor; its electro-optical targeting and phased-array radar swept rapidly, and the fire-control radar powered on.

Luo Rui stood dumbfounded, mouth agape: "I'll fuck your grandpa…" The next instant, he grabbed his radio:

"Run!"

Dū wū!!!!!!!!!

The 1130 CIWS activated instantly—eleven 30mm barrels spun at high speed, spewing destruction; its high-speed radar system locked onto every target and swept across them!

Within seconds, the enemies who had rushed forward using cars as cover were instantly shredded into blood mist, their vehicles disintegrating like toys.

Many had already begun fleeing in terror before Luo Rui even issued his retreat order—the CIWS's target acquisition speed operated in milliseconds; those hiding in platform buildings had nowhere to escape—not even load-bearing walls could withstand its fire.

Meanwhile, the automatic door of Car 5 opened; Lou Da stood at the threshold with a Gatling gun, its motorized barrels spinning as he aimed at the panicked enemies, unleashing a stream of metal.

The cockpit door opened too; Shasha, clutching the Leiyu A1 grenade launcher, revealed her petite figure and fired three rapid grenade volleys—Dōng dōng dōng!

Hōng hōng hōng!

Explosions ripped through the air—screams, shouts, shattered walls and vehicles flying everywhere!

Trees fell in rows; Luo Rui and his men hiding deep in the woods scrambled onto their vehicles. One man frantically lifted a rocket launcher, disengaged the safety, and trembled as he aimed it at the CIWS about to sweep toward them.

Pēn!

The next instant, the crack of a heavy sniper rifle shattered the air—the man and his vehicle exploded on the spot, flesh and bone splattering across Luo Rui's windshield. His eyes wide with terror, he didn't even have time to activate the wipers, stomping the accelerator to flee.

At last, he understood why the train hadn't fled immediately, why so few remained aboard.

This train was a heavy firepower fortress!!

!

Dōng~

The off-road vehicle reversed and collided with the one behind it; Luo Rui erupted in curses: "Get the hell out of my way, all of you!!!"

On a distant rooftop, Chen Sixuan, having scored a hit, swiftly adjusted her aim toward Luo Rui's cockpit.

She calmed her breath; the devastating power of her anti-materiel rifle gave her an odd sense of safety and satisfaction. Watching enemies' bodies obliterated, her emotions grew steadily colder, her gaze more composed.

Then she pulled the trigger.

Pēn!

A meticulously planned ambush had turned, in mere seconds, into a one-sided massacre.

"Brother Rui! Brother Rui!"

Guo Cheng, leading the team assigned to sabotage the tracks, saw the carnage on the distant platform and turned pale. He frantically called over the radio—but no response came from Luo Rui, Fatty, Team One, or Team Two.

"Go, let's get out of here!"

Guo Cheng sensed disaster—he immediately led his nearby team on motorcycles along a back road toward the town. Without Luo Rui, their only anchor was Ding Jun.

Five or six motorcycles sped along a hidden path toward the chemical plant—but they all braked abruptly.

For ahead, an armored vehicle blocked the road; standing with his back to them on its roof was a handsome young man, his bangs stirred by the breeze.

"Who are you!" Guo Cheng shouted in terror, fumbling for his gun.

The next instant, a black Remington M96 appeared behind his head.

Pēn!

Dā dā dā!

Shuqin and her team suddenly emerged, slaughtering the fleeing group within seconds.

Lu Xingchen quickly turned around, frowning: "Hey, Shuqin, I hadn't even spoken yet—you could've at least let them identify themselves."

Shuqin holstered her gun, gave him a weary look, and sighed: "Stop fooling around. Let's hurry to support Team Leader Lin."
