Chapter 200: Firepower (Begging for Monthly Tickets!)

~6 min read 1,161 words

At Yuzhen Station, the Infinite Train rested silently; outside the platform, a convoy of dozens of vehicles had quietly entered a hidden grove, countless eyes fixed on the black heavy train.

Several agile marksmen had already infiltrated the platform's perimeter, hiding behind buildings, now fully surrounding the Infinite Train.

"Big Brother Rui, this train's armor is sealed so tight we can't even find a ventilation shaft—how do we get the bone worms inside?"

A thin man at the front whispered into his radio.

"There must be gaps—otherwise the people inside would suffocate. Find the seams; those bone worms can smell human scent and crawl right in." In the grove, Luo Rui stepped down from his vehicle, scanning the train through binoculars.

"Big Brother Rui, Guo Cheng's Third Team is already positioned along the outer tracks. Aren't we going to support Brother Ding?" came another fat man's voice.

"No."

Luo Rui's expression turned cold as he smiled. "Brother Ding likes playing the good guy. Let me handle this extermination job for him."

He gazed at the train, his eyes narrowing slightly.

At first, under Ding Qing's leadership, the Golden Steel Convoy had fled eastward with fierce determination and courage, repeatedly breaking through enemy encirclements in the dark, growing stronger with each battle; they shared hardships and fought the darkness together.

But perhaps after so long, many had grown numb to the endless escape, even Ding Qing himself began to doubt whether the team would survive until tomorrow.

Then they arrived at Yuzhen. Though the pseudo-humans had initially caused casualties, after a period of rest, they gradually noticed something unusual here.

No endless hordes of corpses, no eerie entities surging through the night—so long as they hid in a shelter and learned to identify pseudo-human infiltration, the team gained rare safety and respite.

But soon, eerie entities began invading the town. Just as everyone thought it was no longer safe, some original survivors revealed that if corpses were thrown into the deep pool of the chemical plant to feed the lantern flower, the eerie entities would stop appearing.

Discovering this pattern, the convoy treated it like a treasure. When corpses grew scarce, they began waiting for outsiders to die in town, then looted their supplies, dragged the bodies to the plant, and thus formed this symbiotic balance.

The Golden Steel Convoy and the original survivors both gained survival supplies and safety, while taking turns feeding the blood offering.

Later, as blood offerings dwindled, the convoy members' attitudes subtly shifted; those led by Luo Rui began actively luring survivors into town.

At first, he told Ding Qing and Duan Min that their goal was to help those caught by eerie entities in the night find refuge in town; by day, whether they chose to leave or search for treasures inside was their own decision—and if they died, it was their own fault.

Everyone knew it was just self-deception, but as most grew fearful of the night and became dependent on this shelter, everyone—including Ding Qing—seemed to tacitly accept it.

Until later, when Luo Rui began directly attacking survivors entering town, they finally realized they had become executioners of the night.

Thus, this attack on the Infinite Train was orchestrated by Luo Rui; his men, bloodied and blinded by violence, would stop at nothing to remain safe in Yuzhen.

"Everyone, prepare."

Luo Rui picked up his radio: "When Third Team blows the tracks, everyone opens fire at once. Observe their reaction first. If they try to flee, wait until they derail and flip before moving in. Second Team, hold the station entrance—prevent any counterattack from their Jinchengduiwu."

"Understood, Big Brother Rui."

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh~

In the grove, shadowy figures moved swiftly, a net of encirclement silently spreading; the Golden Steel Convoy's vehicles mounted heavy machine guns and rocket launchers. Having fought through countless battles, each member had evolved formidable individual combat strength and moved with flawless coordination.

On the "Infinite Train," Da Lou gripped the Roarer K23 electric rotary machine gun, watching the outside warily; in Car 2, Lou Shasha stared at the screen showing flickering figures in the grove, her brow knitting tightly.

"Lin Brother was right—these people really came to attack our train." "But what are they doing…?"

On the surveillance screen, the train's sentry system, integrated with radar, had infrared and thermal detection; Luo Rui's squads creeping about appeared as naked as if stripped bare to Shasha. She activated the target-lock function, letting the sentry system track their movements in advance.

"Shasha." Chen Sixuan's voice came through the comm: "Someone's approaching from the rear car."

Shasha nodded, giving Da Lou a glance; he immediately headed toward Car 11.

"I see their people circling to the front of the tracks—they're probably trying to destroy them." Chen Sixuan slowly shifted her rifle's aim toward the distance, finger resting on the trigger.

"Sister Chen!"

Shasha hurriedly said: "Don't shoot yet, or they'll spot you and it'll be trouble."

Chen Sixuan paused, then released her finger: "Alright, I nearly acted impulsively."

She thought for a moment and told Shasha and the others: "Let them blow it. They think destroying the tracks cuts off our escape, so they'll reveal themselves."

"Exactly." Shasha said: "They're also guarding against Sister Shu Qin returning. Let's keep them dangling here—we'll catch them off guard later."

!

Chen Sixuan softly hummed. She had to admit—Shasha was deceptively wise for her age; so young, yet so calm, even planning to fish while surrounded?

Seeing her teammate's composure, Chen Sixuan took a deep breath, stayed silent, and focused her gaze on the enemy's heavy weapons.

Boom! Boom!

Suddenly, deafening explosions erupted from both east and west ends of the platform; black smoke billowed, shaking even the platform's glass.

"Big Brother Rui, it's blown!"

Hidden behind cover, Luo Rui and his men watched the train closely; upon hearing the blasts, all raised their weapons, ready to fire at his command.

Luo Rui's eyes narrowed, his radio in hand, calm and composed, preparing to order the attack.

Minutes passed—the train remained silent. He lifted his binoculars toward the town—no vehicles emerged.

"What's going on? Didn't they call for backup?" the fat man said.

"Probably waiting to see what happens," Luo Rui sneered. "The path is gone. They can't run."

He picked up his radio: "Second Team, ambush inside the platform. When they return, open fire—leave no one alive."

"Understood."

A group began moving toward the rear of the platform buildings.

Meanwhile, Luo Rui returned to his vehicle, picked up a response beacon, and gave a signal to a subordinate; the man immediately understood, stood up, and fired a burst of bullets straight at the train.

Taptaptap!

Gunfire erupted, the scene instantly heating up.

Luo Rui pressed the beacon: "Listen up, everyone on the train—we've blown the tracks, your teammates won't come back. I'm giving you one minute to open the doors and surrender. Otherwise, we'll show you our firepower—train stays, people die!"
