Chapter 33: Hunting Dinosaurs
By the lake, two massive brachiosaurs had half their bodies submerged in the water; beneath them, a tiny brachiosaur nestled close beside them.
What this family of three did not know was that, as they washed, a pair of evil eyes were fixed relentlessly upon them.
“Brachiosaurs? The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park really have no vigilance.” Ye Nan smiled. After all, Jurassic Park was not the real Jurassic; carnivorous dinosaurs were not numerous, and these carefree creatures had lost their natural wariness.
If it were Little Godzilla, a surprise strike might kill them quickly—but Ye Nan’s target was not them.
“Don’t rush. Let’s wait a little longer.” Ye Nan gently patted Little Godzilla’s head and whispered, “Your target is those damned carnivorous dinosaurs.”
Yesterday, Hammond had agreed to Ye Nan’s conditions, but demanded Ye Nan first put up a hundred million U.S. dollars as a bounty to hire mercenaries to hunt dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. Ye Nan refused without hesitation, telling Hammond he could clear all the dinosaurs on the island himself.
Ye Nan’s original purpose in coming to Jurassic Park was the carnivorous dinosaurs here—by hunting them, he could make Little Godzilla stronger. Of course, Dr. Ma Xiu had also explicitly instructed him to retrieve dinosaur DNA.
But now things were different. He had become one of Jurassic Park’s shareholders; he would never harm his own interests. Now he could save a hundred million U.S. dollars while letting Little Godzilla hunt dinosaurs openly—he was eager and thrilled.
After being patted by Ye Nan, Little Godzilla immediately lowered his head, suppressing his craving—but he still growled a few times, expressing his dissatisfaction.
“You lazy Godzilla, all you think about is eating. These dinosaurs are your master’s money tree—if you eat them, where will your master get money to invest in the research institute? If I run out of cash, I’ll sell you off.” Ye Nan glared at Little Godzilla, threatening him.
He knew Little Godzilla understood him—not because the creature was humanlike, but because between them existed a special psychic link, allowing Ye Nan to sense Little Godzilla’s emotions, and Little Godzilla to understand his words.
This connection was strange, unique to him and Little Godzilla alone—even Dr. Ma Xiu could not decipher it, and could only classify it as a supernatural phenomenon.
Hearing Ye Nan threaten to sell him, Little Godzilla fell silent. He lay on the ground, gazing at his master with a pitiful expression—but when he realized his master was ignoring him, he slinked off to the side and started drawing circles in the dirt.
In the lake, the juvenile brachiosaur nuzzled its parent’s neck, occasionally licking it, a scene of warmth; behind them, a small velociraptor tiptoed forward silently.
Velociraptors were extremely cunning dinosaurs; when hunting, they preferred stealth, striking unexpectedly—by the time you noticed them, they’d already clamped onto your throat.
But no matter how clever the prey, it was still prey. This velociraptor could never have imagined that behind it, another hunter lurked quietly, waiting for the prey to bite.
Seeing the velociraptor appear, Little Godzilla instantly perked up, growling softly as he waited for Ye Nan’s command—once given, he would strike.
“Wait. Wait a little longer.” Ye Nan whispered, signaling Little Godzilla to hold back. Now was not yet the best moment. He wanted to wait and see if the three brachiosaurs could attract other carnivores. If they did, he’d gladly reap the benefits—after all, Jurassic Park was an island, not small by any measure.
Hearing Ye Nan’s words, Little Godzilla calmed down, remaining hidden in the grass—but his eyes locked onto the velociraptor, filled with cruel intensity.
Ye Nan waited until the velociraptor was nearly upon the brachiosaurs, yet no other carnivores approached—he gave the order.
“Little Godzilla, attack.”
At once, Little Godzilla lunged forward, his cruel eyes fixed on the velociraptor, saliva dripping unconsciously from his jaws—as if he’d spotted an unparalleled delicacy.
The velociraptor, about to sneak up stealthily, was startled by the sudden noise—but when it saw the monstrous creature, no bigger than a calf, its eyes filled with fury. It was enraged that Little Godzilla had interrupted its hunt, granting the brachiosaurs a chance to escape.
The brachiosaurs, hearing the commotion, clumsily turned their heads to see what was happening. But the moment they looked, panic seized them: behind them, a vicious velociraptor was closing in.
Roaring, the brachiosaur immediately fled with its mate and offspring, their heavy bodies shaking the earth with every step.
The prey slipped from its grasp. The velociraptor glared at Little Godzilla—but after a moment’s thought, it decided to pursue the brachiosaurs first. As for Little Godzilla, it was too small. It would deal with this insolent interrupter after finishing its meal.
The velociraptor leapt suddenly, lunging at the brachiosaurs. With their clumsy bodies, they stood no chance against the swift predator.
But here, there was not only the brachiosaur—but also Little Godzilla, who had interrupted the velociraptor’s hunt. Seeing the velociraptor ignore him, Little Godzilla erupted in rage. He leapt after it, slamming hard into its belly.
The velociraptor’s body was covered in scales, but its belly was its only vulnerable spot. Struck by Little Godzilla’s impact, it felt as if hit by a speeding train—its entire body was slammed from the air to the ground, leaving a deep crater.
The velociraptor felt dizzy, nauseous, and reeling. Little Godzilla’s blow had inflicted severe pain—even its thick hide could not withstand it. Now it had to take this small creature that dared interrupt its hunt seriously.
ps: I’m tragic. This morning, while urinating, I suddenly felt pain in my urethra, instinctively contracted it—and got a kidney stone stuck inside. Now I’m drinking water nonstop, hoping the next stream will flush it out. Also, fellow stone sufferers: endure the pain. Don’t be as tragic as me.
