Chapter 34: T-Rex

~5 min read 932 words

Roar! The Velociraptor let out a furious roar, warning the little Godzilla that the Brachiosaurus was its prey—no interference allowed.

It had taken the little Godzilla’s combat power seriously, and didn’t want to fight it now, so it sought a peaceful resolution—but unfortunately, the little Godzilla wasn’t a dinosaur and couldn’t understand the Velociraptor’s roar; it didn’t even acknowledge the creature.

Seeing the little Godzilla’s indifference, the Velociraptor grew enraged. As the dinosaur killer of Jurassic Park, it had its pride. If the opponent wanted battle, it would accept—it didn’t believe it could lose to a smaller, lesser Godzilla.

The Velociraptor charged forward, its sturdy head poised to ram. The little Godzilla, seeing this, didn’t dodge—it swung one claw straight at the charging Velociraptor.

The little Godzilla’s size now was vastly different from its earlier form. If its earlier claw strike couldn’t fully pierce the Velociraptor’s skull, this one could pierce it completely.

Aaaagh! The Velociraptor let out a dying shriek and collapsed with a thunderous crash, crimson blood splattering everywhere; the little Godzilla’s claw was drenched in red.

“Such sharp claws,” Ye Nan stepped forward and marveled. The Velociraptor’s scales were incredibly tough, its hide thick and resilient—but to the little Godzilla, it was like tofu, effortlessly pierced through.

Hearing Ye Nan’s praise, the little Godzilla immediately preened—but it still stood in place, staring hungrily at the Velociraptor’s corpse, then looked up at Ye Nan, its eyes filled with longing.

“Go on, go on—let me see how far you can grow,” Ye Nan murmured. His only rule for the little Godzilla was that it must not eat humans; everything else he didn’t mind. If he’d known dinosaur meat wasn’t poisonous, he’d have grilled some just to taste it.

The little Godzilla, hearing Ye Nan’s approval, lunged forward, opened its massive jaws, and tore off a chunk of meat with its sharp teeth, swallowing it greedily. In an instant, it devoured the entire Velociraptor—and its body swelled a full circle.

Though the little Godzilla’s growth wasn’t as dramatic as before—when eating one Velociraptor turned it from puppy-sized to calf-sized—it still expanded a full circle. This strange phenomenon left its inexperienced master, Ye Nan, astonished.

“Incredible—it can grow rapidly by devouring carnivorous dinosaurs. That big Godzilla must’ve feasted on plenty of fish underwater to reach its size,” Ye Nan marveled. The animal world was far stranger than the human one—humans couldn’t grow like this, not even today’s humans.

Burp! The little Godzilla swallowed the entire Velociraptor, let out a satisfied burp, and padded over to Ye Nan’s side. Now, it stood nearly as tall as Ye Nan, its wings fully fleshed out, strong and powerful.

Ye Nan touched the little Godzilla’s fleshy wings, thinking inwardly: “I wonder how strong it is—could it carry me? Could it fly me into the sky? Hmm, I’ll have to test it next time.”

The little Godzilla lay contentedly on the ground, ignoring Ye Nan. Some of the meal still lingered in its body, undigested—it needed sleep to process the food.

But as soon as it lay down, it sensed a threat. It sprang up instantly and roared fiercely toward a direction deep in the forest.

Ye Nan, lost in thoughts of flight, saw the little Godzilla roaring at something—he turned sharply to look.

What a colossal beast! Thirteen meters long, five meters tall, each step crushing the earth into deep footprints—it was a dragon-shaped tank. No, even a tank was like a baby beside it. Even modern skyscrapers couldn’t match its scale—it was only slightly smaller than the original Godzilla.

Roar! The little Godzilla issued repeated warning calls, urging Ye Nan to retreat—he would face this dinosaur alone.

Ye Nan immediately realized trouble had come. The little Godzilla was always arrogant; ordinary dinosaurs, like the Velociraptor, weren’t even worth its attention. But this new dinosaur had made it feel tension—for the first time ever.

“Damn it, what the hell is this monster? Such overwhelming pressure—it must be the T-Rex. Only the T-Rex could exert this kind of dread. Damn it, why did we run into it so soon?” Ye Nan muttered, stepping backward.

He’d already received the exact count of carnivorous dinosaurs from Dr. Hammond: only one T-Rex existed in the entire Jurassic Park. He’d planned to wait until the little Godzilla grew stronger before confronting it—but now, here it was. Clearly, the Velociraptor had drawn it here.

The T-Rex, also called Tyrannosaurus, wasn’t like the Velociraptor, which only bullied weaker dinosaurs. The T-Rex hunted the strong as well as the weak—no matter if it was an ordinary predator or a fierce one, it would kill it without caring if it got hurt.

“Can the little Godzilla defeat the T-Rex? This thing is the strongest of all dinosaurs,” Ye Nan worried.

If it were a full-grown Godzilla, Ye Nan wouldn’t have worried—though terrifying, the T-Rex was still just a child beside Godzilla’s colossal form. But this was the little Godzilla—the juvenile stage. He had no idea if it could win.

After all, the little Godzilla’s potential was even greater than its mother’s—but it was still young, still growing. If it failed to grow, it would die.

But Ye Nan could only stand there, helpless. His strength was too weak—he’d be crushed instantly if he stepped into the battlefield.

“Damn it—if I had superhuman strength, I wouldn’t be standing here helplessly watching the little Godzilla fight the T-Rex.”

Ye Nan had never craved power so desperately before—never felt such urgency to obtain it. He made a vow: once this was over, he would seize power—no matter the cost.
