Chapter 37: Lu Yu's Thoughts on the Future

Does this world have geniuses?

Of course there are!

Professor Chen himself is a genius, and not an ordinary one; otherwise he wouldn't have the ability to organize this current project, let alone have published several papers internationally.

Precisely because he himself is an extraordinary genius, Professor Chen all the more knows the importance of hard work.

If one's demand of oneself is merely to be a bit better than ordinary people, Professor Chen has nothing to say.

Because a genius's starting point is already a bit better than that of ordinary people.

But if one aims to dominate the world, even risking one's life does not guarantee success.

Now let's look at the present, look at Lu Yu!

What attitude is this!

From yesterday to today, it's already been two days!

Lu Yu should also roughly know what topic they are researching by now, right?

But Lu Yu…… actually never came over to ask him a single question!

Now he even left early.

What kind of attitude is this?

Can someone like this persist in research?

And Chen Yang……

Chen Yang originally was a student willing to work hard and able to persevere, but now……

He's only been with Lu Yu for two days, and already changed like this?

Professor Chen is very angry!

He even took out his phone, preparing to call Lao Li, to tell Lu Yu not to come tomorrow.

But just then, he saw his own computer, saw the task list on the page.

Chen Yang has already submitted the task!

So…… did Chen Yang complete today's task?

……

Fifteen minutes later, Professor Chen fell into deep contemplation.

His brows were tightly furrowed.

He had finished reading Chen Yang's code.

Not a single mistake!

As yesterday, the code is concise, excellent!

That is a very high evaluation.

But how did Chen Yang manage to do that?

He…… shouldn't have this level!

So…… could this be related to Lu Yu?

Professor Chen decided not to call Lao Li.

Wait until tomorrow; tomorrow he will definitely ask Lu Yu himself.

He wants to know the truth of the matter!

……

When Lu Yu returned home, he discovered Chen Qiao actually waiting downstairs of his building.

"Little Yu, you're back?" Seeing Lu Yu, Chen Qiao hurried over.

"Uncle Chen, do you have some urgent matter? Did you specially wait here for me? Why didn't you call me?" Lu Yu's face involuntarily showed doubt.

Chen Qiao opened his mouth, but then sighed, looking as if he wanted to speak but stopped himself.

"Why not go to my place first?" Lu Yu said.

"Ah…… okay." Chen Qiao agreed, following Lu Yu.

By the time they arrived at Lu Yu's doorstep, Chen Qiao finally realized…… damn, his ability to handle matters is actually worse than Lu Yu's, worse than a seven-year-old child!

He now…… can hardly treat Lu Yu as a little child anymore, otherwise he wouldn't have come to look for Lu Yu at this moment.

……

Lu Yu had He Sui pour Chen Qiao a cup of boiling water.

After Chen Qiao took two sips, Lu Yu then spoke: "Uncle Chen, can you now tell me what exactly happened?"

Chen Qiao took a deep breath, then said: "Mr. Qin is returning to China."

Mr. Qin?

Lu Yu raised his eyebrows slightly, asking: "Uncle Chen, who is this Mr. Qin you're talking about?"

"Mr. Qin…… probably not many people in the country know him now, because he basically operates overseas."

"But if one has done deep research into overseas games, there's no way to get around this person……"

"The currently most famous large-scale online game overseas…… actually…… can be said to be a product of Mr. Qin's own hand."

"Every game he has taken over has become a big seller; he has never failed."

"Thus…… he is deeply favored by investors."

"Put it this way: for any game Mr. Qin wants to make, investment has no limit!"

"Little Yu, do you understand what I mean?"

"Now Mr. Qin is returning to China; he wants to make games domestically!"

Chen Qiao said this last, his voice becoming extremely solemn.

Chen Qiao is an entrepreneur.

What does an entrepreneur most need to guarantee?

Ultimately, it's still about profit.

If Qin Mr. takes all the game market share, Grand…… will have nothing left but to go bankrupt.

Chen Qiao indeed has the ambition to revive domestic games, but the premise remains…… that the person who revives must be himself.

Now Mr. Qin's appearance makes him feel a huge crisis.

Lu Yu understood all of this in an instant.

"So, Uncle Chen…… what are your plans?" Since Mr. Qin is such a formidable person, what can Chen Qiao do to stop him from returning to China?

So, we need to come up with a way to deal with Mr. Qin.

Chen Qiao sighed again, then shook his head, saying: "I…… I also don't know what to do."

"Large-scale online games are the upcoming trend, like Plants vs. Zombies can be a brief hit, but…… because of the game's simplicity, it is destined not to last."

Chen Qiao's understanding is actually quite clear; he has his own unique insight into the trend of games.

Lu Yu, however, didn't say much at this moment.

He naturally knows better than Chen Qiao and Mr. Qin what the upcoming trend is.

Lu Yu even knows all the games that will be popular in the future.

But…… precisely because there are too many, he hasn't yet decided which game to make.

Moreover…… just as Lu Yu previously thought, he actually still lacks the foundation to develop large-scale online games.

For example, manpower, for example, financial resources.

As for the latter, Chen Qiao can probably figure it out; an investment of several hundred million yuan, gritting his teeth, Chen Qiao can also make up his mind to do it.

But the former……

It's not that Lu Yu has high standards, but that the current level of domestic programmers is indeed still somewhat lacking.

Grand's programmers are actually already quite good, but……

Sigh…… thus saying, technology is the primary productive force!

However, regarding this point, Lu Yu actually now has some ideas and thoughts.

Professor Chen's research team!

Lu Yu is dissatisfied with Chen Yang's performance, feeling he is not flexible or smart enough, but……

This also depends on who you compare him with!

Even such a Chen Yang can actually be considered a top-tier programmer in the country!

Thinking about it, it's actually not strange, after all Professor Chen's project is meant to face the world.

So…… if Lu Yu can bring this team out……

Just thinking about it is enough to excite people!

But things naturally couldn't be that simple.

The project Professor Chen is working on is not for himself, nor for profit, so……

Even if Lu Yu is anxious, he can only wait until the project ends before bringing the team out.

That is also why Lu Yu hasn't clearly told Chen Qiao that he can help him.

Chen Qiao apparently also never thought Lu Yu would have any good ideas, so…… he continues to feel dejected.

In the coming days, Chen Qiao will probably continue to feel each day like a year.

After all…… Mr. Qin, who represents the final judgment, has already returned to China!

Grand…… or rather he Chen Qiao, probably……

Will probably collapse, right?
