Chapter 45

In the field of technology, there is no age, no borders; as long as you have solid enough skills, you are… king!

Translation: In the field of technology, there is no age, no borders; as long as you have solid enough skill, you are… king!

We need to keep "king" as "king". Could be "king". Good.

Or to put it another way, in the programmer's world, the hierarchy is this obvious.

You either know it or you don't—that's the programmer's world!

Translation: You either can or you can't; that's the programmer's world!

So… in just one day, Lu Yu earned the admiration of all his classmates in the computer lab.

Translation: So… in just one day, Lu Yu made all the classmates in the Computer Lab admire him immensely.

Of course, this is only the first step; for now, they only recognize Lu Yu's technical ability.

Translation: Of course, this is only the first step; what they acknowledge now is merely Lu Yu's skill.

In the future, they will realize… Lu Yu is a bottomless sea worth their continual study.

Translation: Later, they will realize… Lu Yu is an endless sea worth their continual study.

By then, they will naturally be inseparable from Lu Yu.

Translation: By then, they will naturally be unable to part from Lu Yu.

The meal was lively, although no alcohol was served—after all, Lu Yu is still a child and cannot drink.

Lu Yu has indeed become the team's favorite.

Translation: Lu Yu… has truly become the team's pet.

"……"

Translation: … (ellipsis). Should we output just "……"? Probably keep as "……". We'll output "【11】 ……"

Meanwhile, let's turn the clock back a little.

Translation: Meanwhile, time went back a little.

In the computer lab, Professor Chen finally lifted his gaze from the computer screen.

Translation: In the Computer Lab, Professor Chen finally withdrew his gaze from the computer screen.

He couldn't help but close his eyes and take a deep breath.

Translation: He couldn't help closing his eyes, then took a deep breath.

"Old Chen, what on earth happened?" Old Li couldn't help but ask.

Translation: "\"Old Chen, what exactly happened? \" Lao Li couldn't help asking."

"They've all finished the task, including Lu Yu!" Saying this, Professor Chen suddenly became excited.

Translation: "\"They all finished the task, including Lu Yu! \" Upon saying this, Professor Chen suddenly became excited."

"Lu Yu also completed the task! Do you know what that means?"

Translation: "\"Lu Yu also finished the task! Do you know what that means? \""

"Lu Yu finished the task that had been troubling us for days!"

Translation: "\"Lu Yu finished the task that had troubled us for several days! \""

"Lu Yu led my students and completed in just one day a task I had originally given them three days to finish!"

Translation: "\"Lu Yu led my students and completed in one day a task I had originally given them three days to finish! \""

"Do you know what this means? It shows that Lu Yu's ability in some area is already on par with mine!"

Translation: "\"Do you know what this signifies? It means Lu Yu's level in some area is already not inferior to mine! \""

"He's even more perceptive, being younger and having a more open mind!"

Translation: "\"Moreover, he is more perceptive, being young and having a more open mind! \""

"With Lu Yu, my research project is sure to be conquered!"

Translation: "\"With Lu Yu, my project can definitely be overcome! \""

Professor Chen was truly excited, he spoke at length in one breath, and his face flushed.

Translation: Professor Chen was truly excited; he spoke a lot in one breath, his face turning flushed.

Old Li naturally understood what Professor Chen meant, he…

Translation: Lao Li naturally understood what Professor Chen meant, he…

He never imagined that Lu Yu's level could be this high!

Translation: He never imagined Lu Yu's level could be this high!

Old Li knew Lu Yu was a genius, and also knew that Lu Yu would surely achieve even greater accomplishments later.

Translation: Lao Li knows Lu Yu is a genius and also knows that Lu Yu will certainly achieve higher achievements later,

But that's for the future!

Translation: but that's for the future!

Who could have imagined that Lu Yu would give him such a big surprise now?

Translation: Who could have thought Lu Yu would give him such a big surprise now?

Did he find a treasure?

Translation: Did we pick up a treasure?

No! How could Lu Yu possibly be a treasure?

Translation: No! How could Lu Yu possibly be a treasure?

Lu Yu is… hope, the hope of Magic City University of Science and Technology!

Translation: Lu Yu is… hope, the hope of Mo Du University of Science and Technology!

"Old Li, no matter what you do, you must keep Lu Yu in my lab."

Translation: "\"Old Li, no matter what method you use, you must keep Lu Yu in my Computer Lab. \""

"Now… I'm going back!"

Translation: "\"Now… I'm going back! \""

Professor Chen suddenly said this, his eyes… filled with an intimidating light.

Translation: Professor Chen suddenly said this, his eyes… filled with an awe-inspiring light.

His face showed an unimaginable fervor.

Translation: His face bore an unimaginable fervor.

"What… what are you going to do?" Old Li asked anxiously.

Translation: "\"You… what are you going to do? \" Lao Li asked anxiously."

Professor Chen suddenly laughed and said, "I'm going home, I'm going to start the second phase of my research, I'm going to bring out the problems that have been troubling me, and I'm going to delve deeply into this project!"

Translation: Professor Chen suddenly laughed, saying: "I'm going home, I will start the second phase of my research, I will bring out those problems that have troubled me, I will begin the truly in-depth aspects of this project!"

Having said that, Professor Chen didn't wait for Old Li's reaction, turned and strode off, looking… like a twenty‑year‑old youngster.

Translation: Having said that, Professor Chen didn't wait for Lao Li's reaction, turned and strode off, looking… like a twenty-year-old youngster.

Old Li hadn't seen Professor Chen in this state for a long time.

Translation: Lao Li hadn't seen Professor Chen in this state for a long time.

The last time was… several years ago?

Translation: The last time was… several years ago?

Back then, Professor Chen was full of vigor and had achieved brilliant accomplishments internationally.

Now…

Translation: Now…

Thinking this, Old Li's expression also became excited; he felt his blood boiling and his whole body trembling.

Translation: Thinking this, Lao Li's expression also became excited; he felt his blood burning, his whole body trembling.

Magic City University of Science and Technology, will it finally welcome its glory?

Translation: Will Mo Du University of Science and Technology finally welcome its brilliance?

Lu Yu!

Translation: Lu Yu!

It all comes down to Lu Yu.

Translation: Everything is still because of Lu Yu.

"……"

Translation: …

The next day, Lu Yu didn't go to the computer lab.

Translation: The next day, Lu Yu did not go to the Computer Lab.

The task Professor Chen assigned yesterday gave them two days to complete it.

Translation: The task Professor Chen assigned yesterday gave them two days to complete.

Moreover, today Lu Yu also has to accompany Chen Qiao to attend Mr. Qin's press conference.

Translation: Moreover, today Lu Yu also has to go with Chen Qiao to attend Mr. Qin's press conference.

After lunch, Chen Qiao arrived as promised.

Translation: After lunch, Chen Qiao arrived as promised.

"Little Yu, this press conference by Mr. Qin is huge; he… is good at hype, and now not only gamers know who Mr. Qin is."

Translation: "\"Little Yu, this press conference of Mr. Qin is on a large scale; he… is good at hype, and now not only gamers know Mr. Qin. \""

"Even… the internet is flooded with information about Mr. Qin!"

Translation: "\"Even… the internet is flooded with information about Mr. Qin! \""

"According to this trend, any game Mr. Qin produces that meets the standard is already enough to dominate the domestic gaming market."

Translation: "\"Following this trend, any game Mr. Qin makes that reaches an acceptable standard is already enough to dominate the domestic game market. \""

Chen Qiao had just sat down when he couldn't help but get down to business, his expression showing a bit of urgency.

Translation: Chen Qiao had just sat down when he couldn't help getting down to business, his expression showing a bit of anxiety.

Lu Yu was unaware of this; the present internet world cannot be compared to the future, and the 'silly' netizens haven't yet formed.

Translation: Lu Yu was unaware of this; the current internet world cannot be compared to the future, and the silly netizens have not yet formed.

Lu Yu also didn't pay much attention to the internet world.

Translation: Lu Yu thus didn't pay much attention to the internet world.

He opened his computer, and without even having to search, he saw the relevant news about Mr. Qin.

Translation: He opened the computer, and without even having to search, he saw the relevant news about Mr. Qin.

Mr. Qin even used pop‑up windows to send messages!

Translation: Mr. Qin actually used pop-up windows to send messages!

Mr. Qin actually also used the pop‑up message‑sending method!

Then, Lu Yu saw such headlines.

"Domestic games' number one person?"

"Mr. Qin will lead domestic games to new heights!"

"The Game King returns to domestic, creating the nation's top online game!"

These headlines are all shocking, and the news content also extracted some interviews with Mr. Qin.

Mr. Qin's words are confident and overbearing, as if he already is the number one person in domestic games.

Lu Yu, however, couldn't help but frown.

This Mr. Qin is indeed good at marketing.

He seized the importance that compatriots place on the two words 'domestic'.

Just riding the hype of 'domestic number one game' is enough to attract a large number of players.

But...

Lu Yu can be certain that most of Mr. Qin's team are not compatriots!

Even, all technical personnel, including designers, programmers, and operators, are foreigners.

Even Mr. Qin himself is no longer a Huaxia person!

So...

Lu Yu did not make further comments on this.

He and Chen Qiao chatted a bit more at home, then went together with Chen Qiao to the press conference venue.

The press conference was held in a hotel.

Mr. Qin is wealthy and generous, actually booking an entire floor.

He even upgraded the catering, typical Western party style.

When Lu Yu and Chen Qiao arrived at the venue, there were already many people present.

"That is Mr. Huang, a domestic investment mogul; his vision is precise, almost for every ten investments, five are profitable."

"That is Mr. Li, the boss of a game company."

"That is Mr. Li..."

Chen Qiao began to introduce some acquaintances to Lu Yu, also considered bringing Lu Yu into this world.

But... Lu Yu is not interested in this, and he does not plan to have much contact with many people in the future.

After all, his status here is still that of a child.

Moreover, he doesn't think that, in the face of absolute strength, so-called connections have much significance.

Such matters can also be left for Chen Qiao to handle.

Lu Yu will only be a behind-the-scenes planner, staying as low-key as possible.

However... it seems things always turn out contrary to expectations?
