Chapter 55: Grand's Internal Problems

Another task full of oppression!

The Computer Lab students originally thought they couldn't even finish Professor Chen's task, but now they actually have to finish Lu Yu's task as well!

In an instant, they felt as if a huge mountain was pressing down on their heads, and their thoughts became chaotic!

Thus, the students in the Computer Lab… who originally had smooth progress, suddenly felt they couldn't do anything.

The students whose progress was already not smooth are now flustered, feeling as if ten million things await them ahead, worried and anxious, and thus they become even less able to do anything!

Lu Yu didn't speak again, just silently watching the students.

From yesterday until now, Lu Yu has been doing only one thing.

It is not to improve their level.

Their current strength is actually enough to participate in a competition, even to win the championship.

After all, they are all Professor Chen's students and have been following him for quite a while.

But their mental fortitude is simply not up to par.

They have hardly ever participated in competitions, and rarely even interact with others—more reclusive than your typical shut-in.

Lu Yu's aim is to constantly put them under high pressure so they can adapt to this atmosphere.

……

Chen Yang felt enormous pressure.

He is the student with the weakest foundation and least talent in the entire Computer Lab.

He originally had some basic progress.

Yes!

Chen Yang has put in enough effort, but when faced with a truly difficult problem, effort… is actually far from enough.

Talent, comprehension ability, and a flash of inspiration are the triggers that allow accumulation to burst forth.

Obviously, Chen Yang is lacking just that final bit.

Based on his analysis this morning, he knows that even if he pulls an all-nighter tonight, he won't be able to complete the task Professor Chen assigned, let alone take on Lu Yu's task.

He isn't afraid of hardship or failure, because these… he has long been accustomed to.

But… the only thing he cannot give up is Lu Yu.

Although he has only been in contact with Lu Yu for a few days, Chen Yang knows this is his only chance.

Whether he can break through himself and reach a higher place depends on whether he can follow behind Lu Yu.

So…

He took a deep breath, then another deep breath, and then approached Lu Yu's side.

"Lu Teacher, can you teach me?" Chen Yang looked at Lu Yu with a sincere expression and said.

Yes!

Chen Yang is now seeking instruction from Lu Yu!

"Okay." Lu Yu lightly nodded, then had Chen Yang come before him and began teaching him.

Then…

Everyone in the Computer Lab was stunned again.

They didn't even know what they were thinking at that moment.

Or perhaps they had no thoughts at all?

Because they had never even considered asking Lu Yu for guidance, let alone expecting Lu Yu to accept such a request.

They felt… as if their world had just opened a new door?

……

At six o'clock, everyone in the Computer Lab left Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University together with Lu Yu.

They all completed the task assigned by Professor Chen, of course… under Lu Yu's guidance.

Lu Yu actually has some thoughts about this.

Or rather, this was originally part of his plan.

But he didn't expect that Chen Yang could so quickly set aside his pride and ask him for advice.

Don't think this is just a small matter, but for an individual it is a tremendous change.

A small change could possibly alter an entire person's life.

……

Time passes.

Lu Yu constantly travels between Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University and Grand.

Of course, he always brings the Computer Lab students with him.

It seems like just a blink and a week has passed.

That day, the Deputy Director of the Technical Department, Wang Xin, came to Chen Qiao's office.

"Director Chen, I have something I must report to you."

"I know you value Lu Yu highly; I… personally actually admire him as well—despite his young age, he has achieved so much."

"I also admire Lu Yu's group of students; their skills… are indeed higher than ours in the Technical Department."

"But…"

Wang Xin said up to this point, paused for a moment, and his gaze toward Chen Qiao was filled with helplessness.

"What happened? Just say it directly." Chen Qiao frowned slightly.

"Director Chen, you also know that our Technical Department has recently been developing a new game, which is also a plan we had formulated long ago."

"Actually, our progress is not bad; the game now has a rough outline, but…"

Now Director Chen, you have tilted all the company's resources toward Lu Yu; we... our progress here has suffered a huge impact, almost... almost there's no way to continue.

Wang Xin almost burst into tears; at least on the surface he was like that.

Chen Qiao fell silent.

In order to set up a computer lab for Lu Yu as quickly as possible, Chen Qiao had the technical department make many sacrifices.

Equipment is the most important part.

The machines the technical department is using now are far worse than before!

"Keep researching; the progress... it's fine if it's slow." After a while, Chen Qiao said that.

"But, Director Chen... a week has already passed, and Lu Yu's side hasn't produced anything."

"We certainly aren't doubting Lu Yu's ability, but... there are some people in the technical department who still have some opinions."

Wang Xin said that.

His meaning is actually simple: Lu Yu has taken up the best resources, yet hasn't produced any results!

Who could accept that!

"Who said that? You can have him come find me!" Chen Qiao's expression also turned stern.

Wang Xing stared, not expecting Chen Qiao to so strongly support Lu Yu.

He hesitated for a while, still said nothing, and directly left Chen Qiao's office.

……

Technical Department

"How is Section Chief Wang? What did Director Chen say?"

"Did you get Director Chen to give us some more equipment?"

"Did you tell Director Chen that we need to increase our budget a bit?"

Wang Xin had just returned to the technical department when a crowd immediately surrounded him, firing question after question.

Wang Xin shook his head helplessly, then sighed.

Everyone was stunned, then fell silent.

"Director Chen values Lu Yu highly, so... he will still tilt resources toward Lu Yu."

"Lu Yu and his classmates' skills are indeed high. So... they..."

"Although they haven't produced any results yet, and haven't even explained to us what they're doing, but..."

"Director Chen believes in them; we also need to learn... to believe in them."

Wang Xin's words were weak and lacking force; although they were affirming Chen Qiao, it was obvious he was still expressing dissatisfaction.
