Chapter 56: Competition begins!

Human emotions are the most easily affected.

Just like now, because of Wang Xin's performance, all the colleagues in the Technical Department have lost interest, even… they no longer want to work.

They feel… abandoned by Chen Qiao.

Feeling the atmosphere in the office, Wang Xin couldn't help shaking his head and sighing again.

Then… he left the Technical Department and returned to his own office.

As soon as the door closed, the dejection and sorrow on Wang Xin's face vanished instantly.

He… his face was full of a smug smile.

He took out his phone and then edited a message.

"The morale in Grand's Technical Department is in turmoil; the technical staff have no heart for work."

"Lu Yu is leading a bunch of students from Magic Capital Electronic Science and Technology University, purely just… causing trouble."

"Chen Qiao made a wrong decision; he actually went so far as to believe a seven-year-old child."

"So, Grand is finished!"

"Mr. Qin, you can speed things up on your end."

After editing the message, Wang Xin found the three characters "Mr. Qin" in his contacts and then tapped the send key.

…

Inside a certain club.

Clubs are actually few in this era.

So, those who can get into clubs in this era are not ordinary.

Rare things are valuable, right?

At this moment, in a room, Mr. Qin took a deep puff of a cigar, then exhaled a large mouthful of smoke, his eyes shining brightly.

The corner of his mouth twitched slightly, obviously he was in a good mood.

"Chen Qiao is nothing special, and Grand is nothing special."

"Leave the domestic gaming market entirely to me."

He glanced again at the phone on the table, and the smile on his face grew a bit wider.

…

This session of the International Network Security Competition is being held in Mo Du.

The competition will officially begin this afternoon.

The opening match is between Mo Du University, as the host, and England.

As for this, Professor Chen doesn't care at all.

Or rather… he chooses to turn a blind eye.

Originally, this competition should have been led by him with Magic Capital Electronic Science and Technology University participating.

But… past experiences have made Professor Chen lose all confidence in this competition.

So, he simply didn't come today.

Moreover… he actually didn't register the Computer Lab students either.

This time, the ones representing Magic Capital Electronic Science and Technology University should be some ordinary students, with Lao Li leading the team.

Thinking of this, Professor Chen couldn't help shaking his head, not letting himself continue thinking.

At this moment, he had already arrived at the Computer Lab.

He had been sitting in his office researching, but when he noticed it was already three o'clock, he unconsciously stood up and went to the Computer Lab.

This place… contains the essence of his life's work.

He will also prove himself here again.

Of course… he is not alone; he still has a group of adorable students.

Based on their performance over the past few days, his students should now, under Lu Yu's leadership, be about to finish the task, right?

Then…

Professor Chen arrived at the Computer Lab.

The Computer Lab was empty, not a single student, only the sound of equipment running.

Professor Chen stared for a moment, then…

He could only helplessly shake his head and sigh, then find a seat and sit down.

He unconsciously opened the computer and typed a few familiar words on it.

International Network Security Tournament!

He still cares about this competition after all.

But… he can only care about it silently.

After all, none of this has anything to do with him anymore.

A boundless sense of loss thus occupied Professor Chen's whole body, making him look… as if he had instantly aged ten or more years.

His entire vitality also drained away in an instant.

…

Inside a certain venue in Mo Du.

This space, the size of two basketball courts, was divided into three areas.

The left front and right front are respectively the battle zones.

Further back are the spectator seats.

Right, there is also a huge screen straight ahead.

This screen will broadcast the match situation of both teams in real time.

Yes, this is the scene of the International Network Security Competition!

At this moment, the five students from Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University have already taken their seats.

The British Student Representatives opposite are also ready!

There are many spectators in the audience.

These so-called spectators are actually all college students, and they are electronics majors.

After all, this competition is too specialized; laypeople simply don't understand.

Around the venue there are also some reporters, most of whom are from abroad.

In fact, a reporter is facing the camera, speaking in a foreign language: 'Ladies and gentlemen, this is the scene of the International Network Security Competition.'

"The match is about to start."

"We can see the British Representatives full of confidence; it looks like they are determined to win this match."

"Now look at the Huaxia side's student representatives… they have blank expressions—what does that mean?"

"Right, you've probably heard that Huaxia's overall electronic technology level is inferior to that of Britain."

"In the previous few matches, Huaxia basically didn't place."

"So… have they given up?"

"That's right; if there's no hope, it's better to just give up."

"Now… the match has begun!"

……

Lu Yu did not go on stage.

This is only the first match.

The competition will last three days; if we keep winning, there will be eight matches.

Lu Yu naturally did his homework beforehand and learned about the British Representatives.

To be honest, Lu Yu isn't quite sure how advanced the British electronic technology is.

But these student representatives… are actually the weakest among all the competitors!

The reason Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University used to lose even to the British Representatives was simply their own poor mental fortitude.

Of course, all that is in the past now!

Now……

Lu Yu believes that after several days of his special training, the students in the Computer Lab have surely changed!

They will astonish everyone!

……

Silence, the venue fell into absolute silence.

As of now, the match has been underway for five minutes!

The five British Representatives' fingers flew across the keyboard, clacking away.

Their offensive had already formed, breaking through the first firewall of Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University.

This isn't really anything; five minutes is neither long nor short.

But… what are the students of Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University doing!

They just sit there silently, motionless!

What the heck!

Hasn't the match already started!

The reporter ahead also turned all his attention to the students of Mo Du Electronic Science and Technology University.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is truly an unbelievable scene."

"The Huaxia students have all just frozen in place!"

"I don't know what the reason is, but…"

"Their attitude toward the match really makes me a little unhappy."

"If they don't want to compete, why did they enter?"

"Huaxia, the Huaxia students, are truly disappointing."
