Chapter 31: Black Charcoal, What Have You Done Again?
As Zheng Tan moved toward the source of the sound, he could see traces of dragging and struggling along the way, plus a broken phone and a very ladylike small shoulder bag.
The air also carried a strong irritating smell; Zheng Tan sniffed, followed the scent downward and scanned the area, spotting a keychain in the grass with a small tube—apparently pepper spray.
The girl seemed well prepared, but Zheng Tan heard no screams—so the guy must not have been hit?
It seems either she missed her target, or… the guy is likely a habitual offender, already on guard.
Moving through the trees is much faster; Zheng Tan doesn't need to detour or avoid uneven ground.
The man stopped under a big tree; this spot is already some distance from the path, so even if he made a sound, no one would hear.
Click!
Zheng Tan heard the sound and looked over; a flash of metallic reflection flitted by.
Holy crap! This pervert actually carries such kinky handcuffs—what a sick taste! Zheng Tan cursed inwardly.
He handcuffed the girl's wrists, then pulled a small roll of wide tape from his pocket, its end tipped with a paper tab for easy tearing.
He removed his hand over her mouth; before she could speak, the tape sealed her lips, leaving her only able to emit a weak sound from her nose.
Zheng Tan saw the man wearing gloves and a cap that exposed only his eyes and mouth, like a bank robber.
Indeed, he's a prepared habitual offender.
Zheng Tan silently leapt onto that big tree, climbed up and read.
