Chapter 125: The Paranoid Little Junior Sister
"Who is this Tan person?"
Zheng Xuan asked, unconvinced.
He Yulin actually didn't know much about Tan Zhizhi; the two had only met at the Runxing Electronics Factory, and she only knew that she was Yang Tianxing's high school classmate and her name.
After the quarantine ended and before summer vacation began, He Yulin had once asked Yang Tianxing how he intended to handle the situation with the two girls.
At the time, Yang Tianxing looked at He Yulin and only said that Tan Zhizhi had transferred to the Yanta campus; he offered no other stance.
Consequently, He Yulin assumed that Yang Tianxing had ultimately chosen Liu Jiaoyue.
Of course, Yang Tianxing had never said such a thing, so it was none of his business if others interpreted it that way.
He Yulin had even praised him at the time, saying, "Yang Tianxing, I'll give you credit for having a conscience; you've ruined Liu Jiaoyue to this extent, and once you leave, her life will immediately lose its direction."
While He Yulin and Zheng Xuan were talking, Liu Jiaoyue walked into 101 with her head down, carrying a bundle of zip ties; she was using them to bind express parcels.
After Liu Jiaoyue appeared, He Yulin stopped mentioning the word "Tan," a bit worried about triggering Liu Jiaoyue's memories.
Zheng Xuan continued to ask: "Why did you stop talking?"
He Yulin thought to herself that the little junior sister was truly young and impetuous; she might be better looking than her, but that didn't mean no one could handle her. So, she suddenly called out from behind: "Jiaoyue, look at the weather outside, it seems like it's going to change; is it going to rain?"
Liu Jiaoyue, "unaware of the ruse," indeed looked outside.
In that instant, Zheng Xuan saw Liu Jiaoyue's appearance clearly: hair with a natural wave draped over her back, and when she turned her head, it revealed an ivory-white, smooth neck; her bright and dazzling face was as gentle as water, and she pursed her moist lips, looking at the weather earnestly.
It often rained suddenly in Chang'an in August; after Liu Jiaoyue discovered the weather was indeed somewhat overcast, she hurried outside 101 to move some express packages back in.
She didn't ask others for help, accustomed to solving problems silently on her own, but when Fu Yiming and the others saw her, they also put down what they were doing and went out to help.
Just after moving them back, a light drizzle began to fall outside; Liu Jiaoyue had broken into a sweat, her cheeks were flushed, and the strands of hair that had fallen down brushed softly against her face.
However, she just brushed them aside casually and continued to squat on the ground binding the express packages, her long eyelashes fluttering slightly, her peach-blossom eyes, glistening with moisture, focused and concentrated.
Sometimes she needed to cut the rope, and when she couldn't find scissors for a moment, she simply bit it through with a "snap" using her neat, white, fine teeth, then went back to her other work as if nothing had happened.
Liu Jiaoyue was only wearing a very ordinary white short-sleeved shirt and casual trousers; without any adornment, and doing things very close to daily life, it was enough to stun the young Zheng Xuan.
"Now do you know why everyone didn't react when you said you wanted to challenge the place?"
He Yulin said softly from the side: "Setting aside her features and personality, you can't even compare to her figure."
Zheng Xuan glanced at Liu Jiaoyue, then looked down at herself, her expression indeed becoming somewhat dejected.
She turned around, ready to head out, but was blocked by the rain.
Zheng Xuan stood under the eaves of 101, thinking she should buy some papaya to eat when she got back; just as she was about to brave the rain to dash back to the dormitory, someone nearby called out to her first: "Borrow my umbrella."
It was actually Liu Jiaoyue, who had noticed Zheng Xuan didn't have an umbrella and had found one inside 101.
Zheng Xuan was momentarily surprised, looking at Liu Jiaoyue's clear and transparent eyes, and asked: "Do you know me?"
Liu Jiaoyue shook her head.
"Then why are you lending me an umbrella?"
Liu Jiaoyue felt a bit embarrassed from being stared at, turned her head slightly, and said softly: "It's raining outside."
Zheng Xuan was stunned, then suddenly pushed away the folding umbrella Liu Jiaoyue was holding out: "I'm happy to get wet, I just won't borrow your umbrella!"
With a turn, Zheng Xuan dashed into the rain, "patter, patter" stepping into the muddy puddles, while Liu Jiaoyue watched from behind, dazed.
"Jiaoyue, don't be so kind in the future; people might not necessarily appreciate it."
He Yulin walked over and said.
Liu Jiaoyue didn't speak, just squatted back down to busy herself with packing the express parcels.
Past 7 o'clock in the evening, the rain finally stopped, and Yang Tianxing returned from the passenger station, looking at the piles of express packages: "Business is good today."
Fu Yiming said with a smile: "The nearby schools are already entirely our market; how could business not be good?"
Yang Tianxing nodded: "In a couple of days, I plan to find a big boss to discuss investment, to see if I can apply for some support from her."
Fu Yiming said "Mm," as everyone knew Yang Tianxing had very broad connections.
And look, the new student union president of the college, Gu Bo'an, had also come to the startup base to chat.
"Tianxing, you should still be the one to speak at this year's freshman assembly."
"It's not very appropriate for me to go up there, Mr. President."
Yang Tianxing looked troubled: "Last semester, I got 15 points in advanced math; this semester I improved a bit to 20 points. Last semester I only passed two courses, and this semester I only passed one, and that was entirely because the substitute teacher for Organizational Behavior gave me some face."
"If I go to the freshman assembly to speak with these grades, word will get out and people will think our Finance College has no one else."
The freshman assembly was the speech before military training, where various college leaders would take the stage in turn to speak, and there had to be one or two student representatives. The most famous person in the Finance College now was Yang Tianxing; after all, he had even made it into the *Chang'an Evening News* because of his "calm and composed performance during the quarantine."
"Who told you to have such a loud reputation."
Gu Bo'an was also a bit helpless: "This title, that title—taking them out is at least enough to bluff people."
"What do you mean 'this title, that title'? Those are just empty names."
Yang Tianxing waved his hand and said: "Vice President of the Humanities Student Union, Youth League Committee cadre, School Merit Student, Top Ten University Students of Chang'an District, Outstanding University Student of Chang'an City, Student Entrepreneurship Model of Qinhan Province."
"Look at these honors; do I take them to heart?"
Yang Tianxing said.
Gu Bo'an blinked, thinking that he said them so fluently for someone who doesn't take them to heart; this act of showing off was truly profound.
"The college student union is very short-handed right now; Tianxing, come here and help me out?"
Gu Bo'an suddenly changed the subject.
"What positions do you have over there? Are you taking over the vice presidency you left behind?"
Yang Tianxing said with a grin.
"The rule of the college student union is that seniors are presidents and juniors are vice presidents; even if you have the ability, your seniority isn't enough yet."
Gu Bo'an shook his head and said: "This is different from your department student union. You should serve as vice president in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department for a year first, then come to the college to take over as vice president in your junior year."
Yang Tianxing curled his lips: "Then what position is there for me in the college now?"
"Minister of the External Liaison Department; you'll have to settle for this position for now."
Yang Tianxing thought for a moment: "Fine, I have to give you, the Chairman, some face."
"Then, regarding the speech at the freshman assembly..."
"No problem, but find a student cadre in the office who can write a draft; I don't have the time and I'm too lazy to write it."
"Small matter, I'll get it to you when the time comes."
After Gu Bo'an resolved this matter and left, Yang Tianxing said to He Yulin: "I promised to arrange for you to join the Student Union to get some credentials; do you want to join the department level or the school level now?"
He Yulin was very embarrassed: "That doesn't seem right, it feels like pulling strings."
Yang Tianxing waved his hand: "It doesn't matter, if you join the school level you can just be a staff member, if you join the department level you can be a vice minister; in any case, Brother will handle it for you."
"I feel too bad about it."
He Yulin said embarrassedly: "Then can I join both?"
