Chapter 105: Mockery and Torment: The Assistant Plan
"Willing to remove the side effects?"
"Willing."
"Aaah!"
"Willing to remove the side effects?"
"No."
"Aaaah!"
"Willing to remove..."
"..."
After countless tortures, when Louis asked again if they were willing to remove the side effects,
he received only silence.
"Not speaking? Not speaking means you’re unwilling. Continue."
Another scream rang out, yet the demon still said nothing.
Seeing this, Louis shook his head, looking disappointed. "Not good enough. As expected, demons are just dishonest."
The clown demon’s claws trembled. It was furious, it was enraged—but now it had neither the will nor the strength to speak. Fine, whatever...
He packed the box and returned it to the rock wall.
Louis turned around, his expression already calm again. He had never believed for a moment that the demon truly wished to remove the side effects—he was merely torturing it for sport.
Louis had no qualms about assuming the worst of demons.
No matter what the demon said or did, Louis trusted nothing. He always started with a torture package to break its spirit first; later, when needed, he could outwit it—deceive, threaten, or bribe as necessary.
"Jason, Jason, when will my base be fixed again~?" Louis hummed his own made-up tune as he walked out of the cave.
He returned home.
Yulunca was preparing transfer documents, gathering all the required paperwork.
Transferring schools in America required an enormous, tedious amount of paperwork; she had already spent several days running errands for it.
In truth, she didn’t want to do this at all. Wasn’t it better to rule her old high school as the queen, surrounded by followers?
But under Louis’s tyranny, Yulunca had little choice. She knew why he was doing this—and thinking of it, she glared bitterly at the fox-like man laughing beside her.
Just then, seeing Louis return, both quickly returned to normal.
Looking at the two, Louis’s assistant plan resurfaced in his mind.
He was extremely busy, and he could foresee even greater busyness ahead. Training an assistant was now inevitable.
Louis sat on the sofa. Emma immediately brought him a glass of water. Yulunca automatically switched the TV to Louis’s favorite program.
Louis drank water while letting his mind go blank.
Emma had merely submitted to him; she still lacked empathy for others. Someone without empathy could commit any cruelty.
As for Yulunca, she had many hidden agendas—but she was the most stable of the two, because she deeply loved her mother, Jenny. Now that David and Jenny were happily together, Yulunca was the one least willing to let their family fall apart. Add her intelligence, her skill at expanding networks, winning people over, and forming cliques—and honestly, she was more useful than Emma.
Of course, neither of them compared to lovely Mary. At least Mary didn’t have all these hidden schemes. Too bad, Mary still needed to finish her studies, tackling advanced math problems—she wouldn’t be back for at least two years...
Wait.
If both had flaws but could still obey him, what if he combined them...
Louis’s eyes lit up.
They disliked each other, so they would naturally check each other’s power. Their intelligence levels were similar, so neither would dominate the other. Together, they’d achieve perfect balance!
Then perhaps he could even teach them part of the Qi Gong technique—not just to train assistants, but also to prepare for future Yin-Yang cultivation...
Come on, after being with him this long, both were beautiful. He had possessive instincts—he naturally had thoughts.
"Do you want to learn magic?"
Louis suddenly said.
The two, sitting quietly on either side, froze, their expressions differing.
Emma was overjoyed. Yulunca first looked confused, then tense.
But after the initial reaction, Emma calmed down. Yulunca’s breathing quickened.
Seeing this, Louis understood.
As expected, each had strengths and weaknesses. Emma had grown significantly over the past two years—she was no longer inferior to Yulunca. Her initial outburst of joy was simply because she’d longed for this so intensely.
Yulunca, however, seemed full of doubts.
In truth, both had lived with Louis long enough to know exactly what he meant by "magic." But he had never shown any intention to teach it—why now, so suddenly?
As for Yulunca’s reaction, she knew clearly: in Louis’s eyes, her status was lower than Emma’s. And given what she’d learned over the years, magic was always rare. Now Louis suddenly wanted to teach them both—she feared something was amiss...
After all, one always asks why first.
Louis didn’t know their exact thoughts, but he could guess them fairly well.
"I will teach you magic. But under one condition: you must not reveal it to anyone else. Otherwise, you will suffer my curse."
Louis issued his warning first.
Emma and Yulunca both nodded.
No matter what, this was magic. Having lived with Louis so long, both were deeply curious and yearned for this power.
As for the curse, they believed in it—they’d seen him practice voodoo with the doll. But so what? It wasn’t as if they could ever escape his control anyway.
So they saw no downside—only benefits.
"Good. First, I’ll teach you the basics of Qi Gong. Master this, and learning other magic techniques will be much easier."
Louis began one-on-one instruction in Qi Gong.
This was difficult—it involved meridians, acupoints, yin-yang, and the five elements. Neither had any foundation; Louis had to guide them hand-over-hand.
He physically pointed out acupoints on their bodies, using internal Qi to show them the flow.
Emma handled it fine. But Yulunca, being older, understood the implications of male-female contact. She grew shy. After the session, her face was flushed crimson, her body slick with sweat, strands of hair clinging damply to her cheeks.
"Remember? I don’t want to teach you again and again."
Yulunca startled, snapping back to attention. "I—I remember."
"Good. Practice on your own. I’ll study the basic techniques first—figure out how to explain them so you can understand."
Teaching was different from learning. Louis now appreciated the value of the inheritance text.
Though he followed the Left Path, he still had a lineage.
This inheritance spared him from learning slowly like them—he didn’t need to study even basic concepts from scratch.
The meridian pathways, acupoint locations—all were already embedded in the magic and Qi Gong texts. No extra study needed. Less error, less time wasted.
In short, except for a few areas where the orthodox paths surpassed him, his Left Path wasn’t inferior at all.
