Chapter 80: We're still good friends
Wu Yue blinked at the words: "You say Caoyuan's mother ate both bitter weed and dandelion, two kinds of wild vegetables, and made them into a dish ball?"
Caoyuan and Mu Jing looked at Wu Yue in puzzlement; although they didn't understand why she asked that, they still honestly nodded: "Because there was still some bitter weed left at home, already a bit wilted, so we made it into a dish ball together."
Wu Yue clapped her hands excitedly: "Then I know why your A Mu's stomach hurts."
The two young females looked at Wu Yue with faces full of surprise; that's something even the Shaman couldn't handle.
Wu Yue looked at the two of them: "It's best not to eat bitter weed and dandelion together; strong-bodied people are fine, but if someone is weaker, eating both wild vegetables at once will end up like Caoyuan's mother."
Caoyuan jumped up excitedly, spinning around on the ground, then anxiously grabbed Wu Yue's arm: "Yue, since you know the cause, is there any way to treat my mother's illness? She's in great pain."
As she spoke, tears began to fall.
Wu Yue sighed: "I don't know much either."
She had only heard this folk remedy while watching some rural programs, and didn't even know if it would work.
But at this moment Caoyuan clung to hope like a lifeline, pleading: "No matter whether it can be cured, please go try it?"
Qingcao beside her also nodded: "Yue, why don't we go take a look? Caoyuan is so pitiful."
Wu Yue rolled her eyes inwardly, speechless: "Caoyuan is pitiful, am I not pitiful too?"
She had previously been scolded by Mu Jing's A Mu!
But in the end, Wu Yue still brought the last bit of Sichuan pepper left in the package and followed Caoyuan to her mountain cave home.
The middle-aged female who had gone to Wu Yue's house earlier to shout angrily sat wearily leaning against the wall, holding the hand of the female lying in the grass nest.
The area around her eyes was still a bit red, indicating she had cried.
"A Mu, Yue has come."
Mu Jing stepped forward and whispered in the middle-aged female's ear.
The middle-aged female suddenly woke up, then looked at the few young females before her; her weary face full of guilt, she looked at Wu Yue: "Young females, today it's Grandma's fault—I went to your house to cause a fuss without clarifying things first."
She stepped forward a few steps, grabbed Wu Yue's hand: "Grandma apologizes to you, hoping this won't affect your relationship and that you can still be good friends."
Wu Yue took the elderly female's hand, helped her sit down in the grass nest to one side, and said softly: "I'm not angry with them; I came this time to check on Caoyuan's mother's condition."
Mu Jing's A Mu looked at her in surprise: "Do you know what's wrong with my younger sister?"
Wu Yue nodded: "Caoyuan's mother's constitution is inherently weaker than yours, and besides, bitter weed and dandelion should not be eaten together; someone with a weak body will develop symptoms like hers."
She pointed her thin, pointed chin toward Caoyuan's grandma's direction.
"I have a way to make her much more comfortable, but I need some salt; rest assured, I will return the salt afterward."
Mu Jing's A Mu heard this and was overjoyed, quickly ordering Mu Jing to go fetch the salt.
Shortly after, Mu Jing and several tall males entered, led by two sturdy middle-aged men.
Each carried a bulging bundle; Wu Yue knew they contained coarse salt.
"Please light a fire; I need to use it."
As her words fell, a strong young male stepped forward skillfully and lit the fire.
