Chapter 1057 - 1065: There is None
"Then bring back some vegetables," Jane Sampson sat up in bed and reminded James Black, "whatever you want for lunch and dinner, just buy the ingredients. We might not have enough time at noon, we can eat something simple, but I’ll cook something delicious for you in the evening. Oh, and don’t forget the eggs, also flour, tonight I’m making you a bowl of longevity noodles!"
Jane hopped off the bed and leaned toward James, "The longevity noodles I make are really tasty!"
"Make a list of whatever you need and send it to me on WhatsApp," James rubbed Jane’s head. Hearing her talk about making longevity noodles, he felt especially pleased.
Talking like this, they both left the bedroom. Jane rested her head on her hands, lazing atop the dinner table, watching James busily work, enjoying the care he gave her.
Many people said that James Black’s patience wasn’t that great, but with Jane, she felt he was the most patient man she’d ever met.
Even Peter Gingery probably wouldn’t let her laze around while he took care of everything by himself.
After eating breakfast, James grabbed the car key and walked out the door.
With nothing to do, Jane cuddled with her mobile phone on the sofa, getting busy playing games. She had just played a few rounds, but time had flown unexpectedly fast.
When James came in carrying a bunch of stuff, Jane almost had the illusion that he had just stepped out the door.
She sat there and rubbed her eyes, looking toward the doorway twice, paused, and then lowered her head to finish the round she was playing.
James walked in, glanced at Jane’s sitting posture, and his eyebrows slightly knit.
She was sitting like this when he left, and she was still in the same posture when he returned. Had she not moved at all since he had left?
Although James was rushing because he was mindful of the people back at the dormitory, from the time he left until now, more than an hour and ten minutes had passed.
"Stand up and move around after you finish this round," James reminded Jane before he put one of the bags on the tea table and carried another into the kitchen.
Jane leisurely responded with an "Okay," and by the time she spoke, James had already come out of the kitchen and gone back to the bedroom.
After finishing the round she was on, Jane told Peter Gingery she was quitting the game, and reluctantly set her phone on the ground.
The phone was burning hot from over an hour of gaming.
"James, what did you buy?" Jane finally got curious to see what James had left in the bag on the tea table.
Opening it, she was very surprised to find an Alps lollipop and a pack of cream biscuits inside!
Jane looked at the words on the bag and realized that James had gone to the supermarket.
She had thought he might go to the market.
Just as Jane was about to ask James, who was in the bedroom, if he bought the snacks for her, she suddenly remembered something, and the words were immediately pushed back down.
She quickly got off the sofa, grabbed the whole bag from the tea table, and frantically rummaged through the bag, turning everything upside down.
Eh, there was nothing?
This didn’t seem like James Black’s usual style.
Jane thought for a moment and then followed him into the bedroom. At the doorway, she tentatively called out to James, and when he didn’t reply, she stepped inside.
James was in the restroom.
Jane’s gaze flickered toward the restroom a few times, then she quickly dashed inside, with no other superfluous movements, directly pulling open the bedhead cabinet.
