Chapter 1139 - 1147: Discharged from the Hospital

~4 min read 733 words

Sometimes James Chip’s temperament really couldn’t be called good, because of the conflicts that arose between the film crew and the people inside the village, James Chip, even now, wasn’t prepared to give in half a step. Those that instigated the villagers, those aggressive villagers, he wasn’t planning to let go of a single one.

Moreover, because of these conflicts between the villagers and the film crew, James Chip directly abandoned the cooperation with the tourism zone.

Yesterday, when James Chip was telling Jane Sampson about these things, his entire face had a cold expression.

He said that the reason he chose to film here was not only because of the beautiful scenery but also because, when he personally came to inspect the area, he felt that the local folkways were simple and the people were living in poverty, so he wanted to help them.

Later, the harsh reality told James Chip that the poverty was real, but the simplicity was just an act for him to see, because the villagers knew he would bring benefits to the village, knew that city dwellers liked simple farmers, so they purposely put on a show for him.

James Chip then brought the whole film crew here, and after signing a cooperation contract with the tourism zone, indeed, it brought benefits to the villagers. Once James Chip’s work was broadcast, it would advertise for the tourism zone. If the tourism zone became popular, it could stimulate the entire village town’s tourism industry.

Unfortunately, these villagers were never satisfied and ungrateful.

So, with his fiery temperament, James Chip terminated the cooperation with that tourism zone and would no longer advertise for it. He retracted everything he was about to give to the village town in this way.

"Terminating the contract is better. I feel like in my life, I’ll never want to step into that place again, I already have a shadow," Coco Edwards expressed the sentiment of many.

That nightmarish place should be where no one, for the rest of their lives, would want to set foot in again.

Up until now, Coco Edwards could still envision those pair after pair of fierce and malevolent eyes, those pair after pair of demon’s hands, flipping the car over, whenever she closed her eyes.

"You rest up well. I’ll be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. After I head to King Town, Harry Little Money will stay behind to take care of you. If there’s anything, you tell Harry. After you get a bit better, we can have video chats and phone calls every day. Whenever I can, I’ll come from King Town to the hospital to see you and keep you company," Jane Sampson gently tucked the quilt around Coco Edwards, "You’ve been with me for half a year, you’ve worked hard. These days, you can treat it as taking a vacation for yourself, rest well, and once you can be discharged from the hospital, rest more at home."

"Alright, a paid vacation, no reason to refuse." Coco Edwards laughed outright, "It’s just the right time for me to take a breather; otherwise, eating dog food every day, I’d go crazy sooner or later, so this is a blessing in disguise for me."

Speaking of dog food, Coco Edwards lowered her voice and asked quietly, "How come your man hasn’t arrived yet?"

"He said he expects to leave tomorrow morning," Jane Sampson replied.

Coco Edwards hummed, "That’s right, his occupation limits him, he can’t just come whenever. I understand."

After talking with Coco Edwards in the ward for more than an hour, Jane Sampson left Harry Little Money in Coco Edwards’ ward and walked out, because her new assistant had arrived and since she was unharmed, she had lunch with her and James Carter, who had work piling up, and then he left.

For the entire afternoon, Jane Sampson, accompanied by Lucy Brisk, went around visiting the injured colleagues in their wards, offering condolences to all of them.

Before boarding the airplane, James Black called Jane Sampson, who was in the middle of receiving the doctor’s final confirmation to see if she could be discharged this morning.

Upon hearing that Jane was going to handle her discharge and then head to King Town with other people from the film crew, James Black, just twenty minutes before his boarding, forcibly changed his flight to one going to King Town.
