Chapter 1224 - 1232 Go Find Your Empress
"Are the filming sessions going to be strenuous in the coming days? What scenes will be filmed?" James Black casually inquired about Jane Sampson’s work.
"It’s about the remaining scenes for the Honored Princess Consort Dawn in King Town. The scenes being filmed are about the times when she was most favored. The Emperor, to exhibit his grace toward the family of Honored Princess Consort Dawn, bestowed an imperial summer retreat upon her and even renamed the manor using her name."
Getting excited, Jane Sampson continued, "Do you know our filming base? It’s genuinely the former imperial summer resort, enormously huge. I heard that even if you walk for a week, you can’t cover the entire area. There are mountains, plains, hunting grounds, and lakes whose names I don’t even remember. There are all sorts of rare treasures. The locals say it’s cool here all year round, so before the Emperor moved to the Northland, he used to live there for a long time every year."
This manor was well-preserved; to avoid damage, it’s not open to tourists. This time, the film crew could only start filming a part of it on-site after getting coordination from the relevant departments.
"Just think about the imperial concubines in ancient times. Their days must have been so delightful, having such a huge place as their personal backyard garden. And our Emperor in the drama is truly generous to bestow such a vast summer retreat to Honored Princess Consort Dawn."
Hugging James Black’s arm, Jane burst into a series of reflections, "If I had lived back then, what would there be to vie for favor for? With all the delicacies and amusements, who would bother revolving around a man?"
At this, an idea suddenly struck Jane Sampson, and she turned her head to look at James Black, giggling, "Why don’t you also give me a summer retreat?"
"That’s a pretty thought indeed," James scoffed, "Not only can I not afford it, but even if I could, I wouldn’t."
"Stingy!" Jane Sampson pouted. He really wasn’t good at making conversation. Didn’t he know that what she said was impossible? Couldn’t he just say something to cheer her up?
"Even if I were an Emperor from the past, I wouldn’t," James added.
Jane Sampson glared at him.
"If I gave it to you, you wouldn’t vie for favor anymore. Am I supposed to compete with a mansion now?" James scoffed, covering Jane Sampson’s eyes with his hand, "It’s no use glaring at me."
Jane Sampson was furious.
"If you were the Emperor, I would be the Empress. What favor is there to vie for? You would be mine! Even if I don’t vie for favor, you’re still mine!" She kicked James Black’s foot angrily.
"Switching to ancient times, if I were the Emperor, you could, at most, be an Imperial Princess Consort," James chuckled softly, "You’re too naive. Could you really be the Empress? What if you ended up selling the entire palace?"
This man!
This man!
Couldn’t he hold a proper conversation anymore?
"What, are you still considering having other little demons?" Jane Sampson sprang up from James Black’s arms, straddled him with long strides, and glared at him fiercely, "Tell me, do you still feel it’s a shame not to have multiple wives and concubines? Are you dying of envy for the Emperor’s three palaces, six courtyards, and seventy-two concubines?"
Jane was sure, when it came to infuriating someone, James Black’s skills were definitely one up on hers.
She was truly furious!
Seeing that James was still smiling at her, Jane’s irritation grew. She pushed his shoulder, "Go away, just go away. You’re too annoying, I don’t want to deal with you anymore. Go find your Empress!"
