Chapter 1238 - 1246: Hold Again When Home
"Do you miss me so much because you couldn’t wait to see me, that you came to pick me up?" Jane Sampson’s eyes, brimming with water, stared at James Black, and those two words were written all over them.
Happy.
"Seeing you like this, did you miss me that much?" James didn’t answer, but instead asked a question.
The moment she saw him, and was this happy, she must have really missed him recently.
"Yes, I did miss you," Jane Sampson admitted this time without any pretense, holding onto James and not letting go. "You have no idea how shocked I was when I saw the back of your head just now."
"Not bad, remembering even the back of my head so clearly that a single glance is all it takes to recognize me," James complimented Jane, quite pleased.
"That’s not the point, okay?" Jane shook her head, "the point is after recognizing it was you, do you know how shocked I was further? Gosh, if it wasn’t because you were driving, I would have thrown myself into your arms right then."
After Jane finished, she huffed, "You still put on an act, poking your shoulder twice, and you didn’t even turn your head once."
James laughed softly.
On a whim, he had left the Black Family home, aiming to surprise her.
He had wondered how long it would take the silly goose to notice, but it was sooner than he expected.
Her level of happiness was even more than he had originally thought.
At this moment, James’ heart was softening, Jane’s happiness genuinely engraved into his heart and reflected in his eyes.
Soft and tenderly nestled in his arms, she effortlessly teased him, lively as could be.
"Sit back, I’m driving," James said to Jane after letting her linger in his arms for a few minutes; when she didn’t seem to want to move, he finally spoke up to nudge her.
Jane hummed a response but still didn’t move.
"Good girl, listen, we’ll hug more when we get home," James coaxed softly.
"Hehe," Jane finally moved, but not before giving him a quick kiss on his lips, laughing as she climbed into the passenger seat.
This person wasn’t short, with long limbs, but her movements were incredibly swift.
In just a short while, she was sitting properly in the passenger seat, not even needing James to remind her to buckle up.
If it weren’t for her silly smiling face looking at him and the disheveled hair from being in his arms, no one would think she had just scrambled up and down like a wild monkey.
Ha, still claims she’s not the Monkey King of Sampton.
Suddenly, James unbuckled his seatbelt, leaned over, pressed down, and kissed her.
Even though his mind was set on heading home first, with her right next to him and having pushed her to the edge, he still couldn’t restrain the urge to kiss her passionately.
And he did just that.
The kiss was as lingering as his missing her was intense.
The kiss was as sweet as his longing was deep.
Jane Sampson’s hands clutched James Black’s shoulders, unabashedly reciprocating the overwhelming kiss, both seemingly wanting to give their all to each other, to merge each other into themselves.
If it weren’t for the inappropriate time and place, James might not have been able to control himself.
After the kiss ended, James got out of the car, smoked a cigarette, and let the cold wind help suppress those tender feelings. Jane, unusually, didn’t frown at his smoking, instead propping her chin on her hands, her eyes smiling tenderly at him.
Her lips, just kissed, looked enticingly red.
"Ah, that was almost..." Jane suddenly sighed out just as James got back into the car.
