Chapter 2190 - 2198: Not Too Late
These photos are all taken from the Black Family by the Carter Family.
"All these milestones, your dad and I should have been there for every single one, but we couldn’t be present for any. Your full moon, your full year, your first steps, your dad and I didn’t witness any of it."
Mother Carter held back her tears, "Since we recognized you, your dad and I often talked about how we didn’t know what you looked like back then. Sometimes, even while sleeping, I dream of holding your hand, teaching you to walk, and dream of your dad standing there with an apple, guiding the food-loving you step by step towards him."
"If you hadn’t left your dad and me, you would have grown up, gotten married. It should have been your dad and me holding your hand, sending you off into the wedding car, and witnessing you putting on the wedding dress for James Black, marrying him."
Mother Carter weeped uncontrollably, "But, so many important moments in your life, your dad and I couldn’t participate in even one. Jane, the time we found you was too late, but when thinking about it, we feel fortunate, thankfully it’s not too late."
Mother Carter reached out and hugged Jane Sampson, "Thankfully, your dad and I aren’t all gray-haired yet, we still have the strength to hold our daughter this tightly, still have the chance to make up for what we’ve missed."
"Jane, your dad and I are truly grateful to the Black Family, truly appreciative of how they’ve taken such good care of you for us. Although you weren’t by our side, you’ve finally grown up, started a family. You’ve still grown into the most proud version in your mother’s heart."
"Mom~" Jane Sampson suppressed her cries, hugging her mother tightly.
"Not too late, not late at all." Jane Sampson, with tears streaming down her face, "As long as I come back, and you’re all here, then it’s not late."
"I am very lucky, and very happy."
She put everything on the line, took that step forward.
Yet, instead of losing anything, she gained so much more.
In this world, there’s no one happier than her.
The photos of Jane Sampson in the Black Family, the Carter Family kept a complete copy, then carefully preserved each one.
From this moment on, she started to gradually integrate into this family, this very family that belongs to her.
This night, the Black Family stayed at a hotel near the Carter Family, while Jane Sampson and James Black were together in the room the Carter Family had meticulously prepared for her.
The room had a bath room and a cloakroom; inside the cloakroom were lots of beautiful clothes, with the tags still attached. They were purchased by Mother Carter and Granny Carter during their shopping trips when they saw something they thought would suit Jane Sampson.
James Black stood in the room, looking at the photos on the wall, reached out and rubbed Jane Sampson’s head who was next to him, and smiled, "Really skinny from childhood."
Jane Sampson thought James Black was about to praise her for being beautiful from childhood.
Instead, she was suddenly criticized, Jane Sampson angrily kicked James Black in the calf, "You annoying ghost! My bed doesn’t share with you, tonight you sleep on the floor."
James Black glanced at Jane Sampson, bypassed her, and directly removed the quilt and lay inside.
Jane Sampson was so angry she stomped her feet, but couldn’t do anything about him.
Heavy as a cow, couldn’t drag him away.
"Stop fooling around, hurry up and come to rest, we have to get up early tomorrow morning, don’t forget we’re going to play. If you keep fooling around, and can’t wake up tomorrow, see what you’ll do." James Black reminded Jane Sampson, urging her to come up.
