Chapter 2189 - 2197: Over Ten Years Younger
"That definitely won’t be a problem," Grandpa Carter wasn’t worried at all, "The previous event invited only a few trusted ones, besides the close relatives of the Carter Family, there are some close connections; once informed beforehand, no one will leak it."
"Since that’s the case, I have no objections," Jane Sampson smiled at Old Sir Carter and said, "I’ll definitely dress beautifully that day to not embarrass you all."
"Even if you didn’t dress up, you’re still beautiful," James Carter sincerely complimented Jane Sampson, "Just like Grandma when she was young."
"Brother is really good at complimenting people, flattering both me and Grandma, making us both very happy," Jane Sampson playfully winked at James Carter.
"By the way, I discussed with your uncle-in-law, it’s a rare occasion for us all to gather like this. How about everyone goes out and have some fun tomorrow? The mountains and waters of the southland are the most beautiful. I’ve been wanting to go for a long time," Brooke Black asked James Carter, "Do you think there’s a scenic place around here that’s not too tiring? As you get older, it’s hard to do anything too strenuous."
"Auntie, as you mentioned, there is a place. It’s about a one and a half hour drive from home to Wind Cloud Mountain. Driving will take you to a natural meadow. Those who can’t walk much can enjoy the mountains and waters, and those who are up for it can check out the waterfall wonder," James Carter thought for a moment and added, "I once went there for filming after returning to the country. The waterfall there is considered a marvel of the southland. Tomorrow, we’ll avoid the weekend, and since the weather’s been good recently, there shouldn’t be too many people."
James Carter specifically added that he had been once since returning, just to assure everyone that if they wanted to go, they needn’t worry about his leg.
The mountain road there, he could still walk.
"Then let’s go there," Elder Black decided.
"The meadow is at the mountain peak and it’s a bit cold. Today we should prepare thicker coats. It’s still very hot in the city district, but up there on the mountain, in two months, you’ll be able to see the snowy view," James Carter reminded a few seniors to remember to take thicker coats up, "It’s also best to bring umbrellas; the waterfall has strong water which they can shield. There’s also a small mountain stream, everything is quite wet."
Jane Sampson sat next, listening to everyone planning to go out, and it even got her lazy bones moving.
In a lifetime, getting a large group to travel to a place together like this is truly a rare occasion.
"I was smart to bring your camera, Jane. Tomorrow, you can take lots of photos for all of us," Brooke Black boasted privately, "Do some editing and make Auntie look ten years younger."
"Even without editing, you look young; who says you’re old?" Father Gingery teased his wife, "Anyone dares to call you old, I’ll deal with them."
"You, always calling me wife, how can I not be old?" Brooke Black retorted, and Father Gingery wanted to laugh but could only suppress it.
The lunch was made by the Carter Family’s aunt and seemed meticulously selected to cater to everyone’s tastes in the Black Family.
It was evident from the care put into it.
Jane Sampson followed behind Mother Carter to the room the Carter Family prepared for her. As soon as it was opened, what she saw were those photos on the wall.
The largest one, placed prominently among those photos, was her and James Black’s wedding photo.
And surrounding this wedding photo were some photos of her from childhood to now.
