Chapter 2253 - 2262: How to Prove It

"Get up, wash up, and head out in 15 minutes," James Black said. "I’ll use the restroom outside, leaving the one in the master bedroom for you. Don’t laze around. If you’re not up when I come back in ten minutes, I’ll carry you out in your pajamas."

"So cruel~" Jane Sampson complained, resignedly letting out a sigh as she scrambled out of bed.

Fifteen minutes later, James Black led Jane Sampson, who was dressed in sportswear, downstairs.

At not even 6 o’clock, the residential community was still relatively quiet. It wasn’t until they reached the runway that more people began to appear.

By chance, Jane Sampson spotted two familiar faces from afar.

Shirley Young was holding the hand of her bouncing daughter.

"Jane Sampson, seeing that a little lass is more diligent than you, don’t you feel ashamed?" James Black tapped the back of Jane Sampson’s hand.

"Not at all!" Jane Sampson shook her head vigorously. "Little kids naturally have more energy than adults. If you don’t believe me, I’ll prove it to you someday."

"How will you prove it? By giving me a daughter too?" James Black asked.

Jane Sampson stumbled slightly.

This guy, always sneaking in reminders about having a daughter.

"If there’s a chance, you can bring over Oliver Black’s little fellow, and you take care of him for a day," Jane Sampson teased James Black. "How about this weekend? Let’s bring the little fellow over and take care of him all day, from morning till night."

"Why should I take care of someone else’s child?" James Black chuckled. "I’ll only take care of my own kids. When will you give me one?"

"Get me in a good mood, and I’ll consider it," Jane Sampson said before running off, heading towards Shirley Young and the father-daughter duo.

"Senior Young!" Jane Sampson stopped in front of the little lass and playfully tugged on her pigtails. "Baby, you’re up early today too, so diligent!"

"Sister Jane~" The little lass was delighted to see Jane Sampson. "Sister Jane, when are you coming to visit our house?"

Before Jane Sampson could reply, the little lass added, "Sister Jane, if you don’t have time to visit our house, my daddy and mommy can come visit yours."

"Oh, so enthusiastic?" Jane Sampson was flattered and surprised.

"Last time you brought your homemade small cookies, and after she ate them, she’s been hoping you’d come visit again," Shirley Young revealed his daughter’s true intentions, and then corrected Jane Sampson’s way of addressing him, saying, "You should be calling me uncle now, not Senior Young."

Shirley Young said, "You probably forgot that I once told you, your mother and I are family, we’re half-siblings, so in terms of seniority, I’m your uncle."

Shirley Young still remembered his first impression of Jane Sampson, feeling that she was particularly easygoing and pleasant to interact with.

Back then, he never imagined she would turn out to be his niece.

"Your brother just told me about you returning to the Carter Family. Since we live in the same residential community, he said that our two families can look out for each other," Shirley Young recalled, finding it incredible, "It’s really surprising. Who would’ve thought you were actually a junior member of the family? Sometimes, when you think about it, fate is just so strange."

"Uncle." Jane Sampson naturally changed her form of address, realizing that since James Carter had informed Shirley Young of this, Shirley Young must be quite close to the Carter Family.

If Shirley Young hadn’t just reminded her, she truly would have forgotten their family connection.

Fate really is peculiar.

Relatives she never dared to even think about in her previous life lived in the same neighborhood, they were so close.

"I didn’t expect that after returning to the Carter Family, our first meeting would be here, and I didn’t bring the prepared meeting gift for you." Shirley Young shrugged, somewhat helplessly.
