Chapter 601 - 609: Didn’t Unscrew

"I’m not going," Jane Sampson responded without a second thought.

"Are you sure you won’t go? I saw him holding something in his hand, looks like food," tempted Helen Watson. "It looks like yogurt."

Jane’s eyelids twitched.

She had only mentioned yogurt to James Black yesterday, so the only possibility downstairs was James Black.

So, should she go down for the sake of yogurt?

"Oh, how annoying," Jane muttered as she slowly got up, and then, with a languid air, she left the room.

However, once Helen Watson and the others couldn’t see her, Jane sped up, practically flying down the stairs two at a time, murmuring, "Yogurt! Yogurt! My lovely yogurt!"

But as she almost reached the entrance to the staircase, she slowed down, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and then strolled out, adopting James Black’s scowling expression as she stood before him.

"What do you want~" Jane said with a tone full of impatience, yet her gaze, fixed on the transparent white bottle in his hand, betrayed her craving for the yogurt inside.

She really wanted it, really wanted it.

This is what Jane’s eyes were saying, and what James Black saw in them.

James chuckled to himself, she really couldn’t pretend.

Still, it was good that she had come down and even initiated conversation by asking what he wanted, which was much better than his initial expectation of her remaining silent.

"Didn’t you say last night that you wanted cranberry yogurt?" James handed her the bottle. "I made it at noon for you, then put it in the refrigerator to cool down all afternoon. I figured you might not come to see me today, so I brought it over to you."

Jane’s eyes flickered, and her hand twitched.

Should she take it? Or should she take it? Or should she take it?

Take it.

Jane quickly snatched the bottle from James’s hand, then instinctively hid it behind her back, "Don’t think that by giving me some yogurt, I’ll let you off the hook."

"I put the red berries that John River and his group picked in your refrigerator," James said, not bringing up last night’s events as he hadn’t come to apologize.

Jane made an acknowledging sound and glanced up at James before slowly bringing the bottle from behind her to the front to hold it, twisting it a bit attempting to open it and have a taste.

However, somewhat awkwardly, she twisted and twisted, but couldn’t get it open.

Undeterred, Jane gritted her teeth and tried twisting again. Still, it wouldn’t budge.

Hearing the suppressed laughter of the man nearby, Jane exploded in frustration and embarrassment. "Take your broken stuff back! You’re deliberately not letting me have it! I don’t want it anymore! I don’t want it!"

After shoving the stuff back at James, Jane was furiously ruffled, even his bottle seemed to be conspiring against her!

This time James couldn’t hold back his laughter, easily twisting open the bottle. Fearing Jane might run away, he quickly handed the now-open yogurt back to her, "There you go."

Jane hesitated for two seconds before taking it back, eyeing James’s face as she tilted her head and took a couple of sips.

The yogurt must have been store-bought, but he had added red berries and red berry juice, so the yogurt was tinged a bit red, much prettier than its original color.

Jane drank half the bottle in one go, barely stopping herself from exclaiming how delicious it was.

"Should I go back up?" Jane said, holding onto the remaining half bottle of yogurt tentatively, her body tilting slightly as if she was preparing to head back upstairs.
