Chapter 613 - 621: Sister-in-law is Good

~4 min read 669 words

The director saw this and had the cinematographer take a few shots of Jane Sampson. Charlotte Miller, who was standing over there, spoke to the director, "Director, Jane Sampson sure is popular with the guard team members."

After seeing a few satisfying shots, the director let the personnel pack up for the day. He simply ignored what Charlotte Miller had said.

Having mingled in this circle for so long, what kind of people hadn’t he seen? He surely wasn’t oblivious to the underlying message in Charlotte Miller’s words.

There were too many people queuing up to take photos with Jane Sampson, so the working group didn’t wait for her; they all headed back to the dormitory after a hard day’s work.

Jane Sampson also didn’t ask Mair Williams and the others to wait for her, she waved at them to go ahead and let them return to the dormitory with the rest of the working group to rest.

Everyone had to take turns taking a bath after they got back, so it was alright for her to return a bit later.

Once all non-guard team members had left the auditorium, the team members started to flood her with enthusiasm.

Someone from back stage yelled out "Sister-in-law, hello!" Then, others followed suit, and soon, the whole auditorium echoed with the three words, "Sister-in-law, hello!"

With so many people back stage, Jane Sampson couldn’t tell who had shouted, so she could only smile and wave to everyone in the audience.

One of the bolder members whistled, "Sister-in-law! You’re so beautiful! Sister-in-law, we love you! We are your loyal fans for a lifetime!"

Peter Gingery scanned the crowd shouting from back stage and couldn’t help but feel nervous for them. Had that guy not noticed that Chief Black had been standing still with a dark face for a very long time?

Did he really think Chief Black’s face couldn’t get any darker, that it could go a shade deeper?

"Alright, my sister-in-law has had a long day and is tired. If you want a group photo, take it in groups of three to five; don’t do it one by one. There are so many people; you’d be queuing until tomorrow morning," Peter Gingery urged the people still in line, then he jumped off the stage, found an empty spot to sit, and started to unwrap the gift Jane Sampson had given him.

Once he opened it, Peter Gingery felt relieved. After seeing Liam Woody’s gift, he was glad he had decisively hidden Jane Sampson’s away.

Upon opening, he saw half a boiled egg white with no yolk inside, adorned with a milk-white leaf on top and a green crown, next to which, written in Jane’s fairly beautiful handwriting, was "Protein Prince."

Why was the crown green?

Couldn’t she find any yellow materials in the whole mountain village?

A green crown? Whoever wants it, take it!

As things continued to be busy until nearly 11 o’clock, James Black watched the woman on stage laughing as if she had just seen a hundred million, and his patience ran out.

He walked down to back stage, his face cold, and said to the woman who hadn’t glanced at him all evening, "It’s very late, come down."

"Just a bit longer, it’ll be just a while," Jane Sampson looked behind her where a few more team members were still waiting; indeed, it would be over shortly.

Jane Sampson was always gentle and considerate towards those she found adorable.

Her words reassured the team members standing behind her who had thought they wouldn’t get their photo because of Chief Black’s command.

Sister-in-law was really good to them.

Sister-in-law was truly gentle.

Yet, the sister-in-law had married the fierce and icy Chief; how pitiable.

When Jane Sampson said it would be just a while, it was exactly that. Two minutes later, she jumped down from the stage, imitating Peter Gingery’s earlier action.

For someone who could climb trees, the height of the stage was absolutely not an issue.
