Chapter 634 - 642: The Past Moment

"Hmm, okay, I should definitely pay a visit to my brother-in-law, Daniel Taylor." Jane Sampson smiled and nodded, then patted Coco Edwards on the shoulder, "I’m awarding you the badge of a great assistant!"

The scope of Coco’s work was to help her with her daily tasks, but it didn’t obligate her to offer advice on personal matters. This kind of thing wasn’t a duty; if mentioned, it was a favor.

Jane remembered Coco’s kindness.

Coco was amused by Jane’s gesture of awarding a badge, having heard earlier from colleagues at the company that Jane was easy to get along with. But to actually experience it was another thing—she turned out to be even more approachable than expected.

Jane returned to the hotel for an afternoon nap without arranging for a makeup artist. She did her makeup herself and then left the hotel with Coco to head for JK Company.

When she arrived, she was neither too early nor too late, Mandy Forest had arrived before her, and Lotus had not yet come.

Although Jane had previously worked with Mandy Forest in the same film crew, they didn’t really click and weren’t very familiar with each other. Upon entering the reception room and seeing that Mandy and her assistant were there, Jane gave Mandy a slight smile and found a seat far enough from Mandy to sit with Coco.

The person in charge of receiving them had known earlier about the collaboration between Jane and Mandy, but observing their less-than-close interaction, he realized they were not on good terms. As Mandy was the early bird and already had been attended to, he summoned an assistant to take care of Mandy and moved towards Jane.

"Miss Sampson, your skin looks even better than in the photos," said the in-charge, sitting beside Jane with a smile, "Did you do your makeup yourself today? It’s very fresh and beautiful. If I’m not mistaken, the lipstick you’re using today is the special one custom-made by JK, right?"

Jane nodded, "Yes, I found it really nice to use, so I carry it with me all the time and have been accustomed to using this one recently."

"Your lip shape is very pretty, and you suit lipstick perfectly. And with your fair and beautiful appearance, you can easily pull off any color of lipstick," said the in-charge, smiling fondly at Jane. "Our product manager and the advertising department folks were so thrilled when they found out that the company had finally appointed you as the spokesperson for cosmetics."

"Keep praising me, by all means, and I hope you’ll sing praises until my tail wags up to heaven above." No matter how vain Jane Sampson was in front of James Black, claiming natural beauty that could kill, she still felt a little shy when strangers and acquaintances showered her with compliments.

However, her kind of shyness came across as charming and didn’t make others feel they had to tread lightly or speak gingerly with her.

The person in charge laughed heartily at Jane’s response, and while they were talking, Lotus arrived with two assistants.

Lotus was a supermodel in charge of the clothing line. In the domestic scene, there were only two or three supermodels who maintained an international stage presence year after year, and Lotus was among the crème de la crème.

Upon entering, Lotus didn’t greet anyone and simply took a seat. Her assistant immediately pulled out her makeup bag to touch up her makeup while another assistant handed her a kettle.

"I’ll be right back," said the in-charge to Jane, smiling before standing up and walking over to Lotus.

Although Lotus came across as a proud woman upon her entrance, she was quite courteous towards the JK personnel assigned to attend to her.
