Chapter 635 - 643: Candy Shop

~3 min read 566 words

The three of them sat in the resting room for a while, chatting casually. Since Jane Sampson didn’t get along with Mandy Forest and wasn’t familiar with Lotus, she naturally ended up talking to Coco Edwards or flipping through magazines on the tabletop.

Initially, I thought Mandy Forest and Lotus would talk since one is a Movie Queen and the other a supermodel; both are top-tier artists who would somewhat interact with each other.

Unexpectedly, when Mandy Forest saw Lotus, she didn’t even try to approach her for a conversation, not even a simple greeting.

Jane could tell that Mandy Forest’s relationship with Lotus was even worse than her own with Mandy.

It’s really rare in this circle to so blatantly perceive bad relationships; even Jane and Mandy at least maintained surface-level greetings.

Jane hadn’t been paying much attention to entertainment news earlier, so she naturally wasn’t aware of the issues between Mandy Forest and Lotus. She took out her mobile phone and messaged Coco Edwards on WhatsApp, curious to gossip about Mandy and Lotus.

However, Coco was equally unaware.

It wasn’t until around three o’clock that the receptionist took Jane and the others out of the guest room to start touring JK Company. They spent the most time in the company’s product exhibition room, which displayed the history of JK Company. Of course, many of the older items, such as the clothing, were already reproductions, with the originals preserved in the collection room at the Headquarters of JK Company in Country F.

As a woman, no one would be unfamiliar with the JK brand, but without visiting JK’s Company personally, one could never fully grasp the company’s cultural heritage and connotations.

That afternoon, Jane had a fruitful experience and understood the purpose of JK’s scheduled observation that afternoon. As a spokesperson, it was natural that she should understand the product, company culture, and development history she represented, and genuinely accept the brand, not just for earning the endorsement fee.

The evening dinner, labeled as such, was actually just a meal with a few senior managers and general managers from JK. Considering the anticipation for tomorrow’s work schedule, there was no one urging to drink wine during the meal, and everyone was discussing work-related matters, talking about the significance of the upcoming Press Conference and how tight the schedule was.

The dinner ended around 8 o’clock. Since the dining location was right in the city center of City S, Jane wasn’t in a rush to head back to the hotel to rest. Instead, she put on her mask and hat and began exploring the area with Coco Edwards in tow.

Jane’s film remuneration and salary had been deposited into her card earlier, so her wallet was no longer as lean as it was at first. City S is among the top-tier metropolitan cities, and you could find one or two specialty counters for various international brands in the city.

Jane dragged Coco Edwards past the city center’s largest market, then directly detoured to a tourist attraction she had previously found on her phone and headed straight for one of the shops.

Coco stood astonished at the shop entrance, watching Jane’s excited demeanor, "You’ve been practically sprinting here just to find this shop?"

Coco thought she might be following a phony artist as she gazed at the candy shop that exuded a sweet aroma, "A candy shop!"
