Chapter 639 - 647: Face the Consequences (Seeking Votes)
But after making the call, Jane Sampson began to worry again.
Did she really make James Black so angry?
Could he be so upset that he wouldn’t be able to sleep all night?
Could he be so mad that he’d lie in bed thinking about how to cleanup his act?
What did he say when he hung up just now?
A 10,000-word self-criticism wouldn’t save her?
Jane Sampson’s face scrunched up, writing one thousand words was already killing her; ten thousand words would probably take her ten lives.
Did she really go too far this time?
Is it too late to call and explain now?
Would James believe she really didn’t eat the lollipop lying on the sofa if she waited until she got home and brought it back?
Jane Sampson wrinkled her nose, feeling sure in her heart that by then, James definitely wouldn’t believe her.
Thinking about the 10,000-word self-criticism, Jane Sampson started to chicken out.
Maybe she should call and explain?
But if she called back so frantically to explain right after he hung up, wouldn’t that seem like she had no backbone?
Should she wait longer?
Jane Sampson hugged her mobile phone and rolled twice on the bed, then picked up her phone again to check.
"How has only one minute passed?" Jane Sampson sighed and sat up again, thought for a moment, then opened WhatsApp and searched for James Black in her friends list.
She hesitated for a few seconds, then sent an emoticon over.
[Calling for attention]
After almost a minute of waiting without a reply from James Black, Jane Sampson sent a barrage of emoticons, flooding James Black’s screen.
Five minutes went by, and there was still no sign that James would reply.
It was then that Jane Sampson was truly dumbfounded.
How angry must he be? She harassed him so much, and he hadn’t said a peep.
Jane Sampson, not giving up, continued to send him emoticons.
[Adorable to death]
The next second, a WhatsApp notification popped up – "The user is no longer in your contact list..."
"..." Jane Sampson swallowed, it was done for, James Black had blocked her.
Done for, it seemed she really crossed the line.
Done for, absolutely doomed.
Done, how would she coax such a difficult daddy Black?
Ah! Why is this guy so intolerant of teasing!
Jane Sampson scratched her ear and wailed, surely he was even angrier than the last time.
This time, Jane Sampson did not dare wait to speak until she was home; she immediately took out her mobile phone and called James Black.
Hearing the phone was connecting, Jane Sampson breathed a sigh of relief, thankfully he hadn’t blocked her number.
And thankfully, James also answered the call.
But his voice was chillingly cold.
"Speak up! If you dare say nothing’s wrong, you bear the consequences!"
Jane Sampson blinked, her heart skipping a beat.
As expected, she had angered him into becoming a nuclear bomb-like daddy Black.
"If you don’t talk, I’ll hang up," James Black stated with a stern voice.
"No, no, no! Please don’t~" Jane Sampson hurriedly spoke up, "Why did you block me on WhatsApp? I have things to say to you. Add me back, I want to video chat with you."
"Declined," James Black huffed.
"Don’t decline, please~" Jane Sampson’s voice was soft and coquettish, "I just want to see you."
"To see if you’ve made me mad to death?" James Black retorted.
Jane Sampson choked on James’s response; so, it was her own doing, and she had to weep and save it, right?
"No, I didn’t mean to make you mad to death." Jane’s voice was even softer, truly cooing with each word, "It’s been several hours since I saw you, I just wanted to see you."
"Huh," James Black gave a cold laugh, his tone revealing no particular change, but a few seconds later, he finally grunted affirmatively.
