Chapter 705 - 713: You Can Buy It

~4 min read 671 words

"More demands? What the hell?" Jane Sampson was very frustrated. Here was a man who wouldn’t even blink at spending 350,000 on lipstick for her, who had accompanied her to the shopping mall and hadn’t uttered a word of complaint as she splurged into seven figures in one afternoon, and now he was making demands over a mere purchase of something that cost around a thousand and might not even be necessary?

Where had her generous Chief Black gone?

Why had he suddenly become so miserly?

"You can buy it, but you can only wear it in front of me. If you dare wear it out, then prepare to be a full-time wife in the house for the rest of your life," James Black said.

Jane Sampson propped her chin on her hand and stared at James Black. After a few seconds, she blinked at him.

"So what if I go to the hot springs just with Nina Rice? Can I wear it then? Or if I go swimming just with Nina, can I wear it?"

"No," James Black said, closing his eyes and massaging his forehead. "I told you, you can wear it only in front of me."

"Then I don’t want it!" Jane Sampson huffed, pushing away the man whose hand was still around her waist, and picked up the mobile phone next to her in a huff and went upstairs.

She didn’t want to deal with him.

She really didn’t want to deal with him.

After all, don’t women, after buying something they find beautiful and are keen on, hope for someone with similar aesthetic taste to compliment them after they wear or use it?

Why would she buy something James Black found unattractive and wear it just for him?

Was this to irritate her or him?

After going upstairs, Jane Sampson dived straight into bed and checked her mobile phone, only to find that Mimi Wood from Forest had replied to her messages at some point.

She really had told her about all the good food and fun places around Sky-River District.

She went into detail about what breakfast specialties there were on which streets, and how to visit certain scenic spots at certain times to avoid crowds, and all of it.

Jane Sampson noted all these down in a memo on her phone, then happily thanked Mimi Wood from Forest.

Although she had no time to explore in the next two days, after the premiere was over, if James Black wasn’t in a hurry to return to Capital Province, she could enjoy herself in Smytheton for two days.

James Black didn’t stay downstairs for long, perhaps less than five minutes before he came following up.

Entering the bedroom, he saw Jane Sampson lying on the bed crossing her legs and shaking them, he walked over and sat down beside her.

"How do you play this game? What are the rules?" James Black asked as he passed her the mobile phone.

Jane Sampson was startled by James Black, and the phone almost slid out of her hand.

If James Black had not quickly caught it, the phone would have hit her face.

"Sit up, don’t play with your mobile phone lying down like that," James Black said, directly pulling up Jane Sampson, who was covering her face with her hand.

"If you didn’t scare me, would I have dropped my phone?" Jane Sampson muttered with pursed lips, turning her head to see James Black’s expression darken. She quickly quieted down and sat up straight.

When James Black saw that Jane Sampson had stopped talking back, he handed her the phone. His gaze swept over her mobile phone screen and saw a message from Peter Gingery.

It was a link.

And on the link, Jane Sampson’s name was very visible, easy to spot at first glance.

So before Jane Sampson could reach for her phone, James Black took it back and clicked on the link that Peter Gingery had sent.

It indeed contained information related to Jane Sampson.
