Chapter 706 - 714: Earth Gas
Upon clicking the link, the first thing that pops up are photos of Charlotte Miller. The level of detail suggests that these first two photos of hers must have required considerable time and effort to be Photoshopped, which is even apparent to James Black.
James didn’t rush to scroll down. After finishing looking at Charlotte’s two photos, he then read the texts below.
After a quick scan, James understood the situation.
The gist of the message was roughly like this: At first, it mentioned how Charlotte Miller and Jane Sampson coincidentally met at a hotel in Smytheton due to work, then it went on to praise how good Charlotte’s ensemble looked, how fashionable it was, and how well it complemented her demeanor, stating that Charlotte became several degrees more beautiful, even her skin maintenance seemed flawless.
It then compared Jane, who is roughly the same age as Charlotte, saying she looked overshadowed by Charlotte’s goddess-like aura. It mentioned Jane’s clothes were sponsored by JK, and the unidentified jewelry she was wearing was also sponsored by some brand, making her appear unsophisticated and looking several years older than her actual age.
The article continued, claiming that for an artist like Jane, being sponsored by JK for event clothing was a mistake on JK’s part.
Then, it added today’s photos of Jane at the hotel, including a side profile that looked like it was taken covertly, and a picture of her waiting with Charlotte at the elevator doorway, even Jane’s assistant Coco Edwards was caught in the frame.
Every photo that had Jane in it showed no trace of photoshopping, whereas in the group photo with Charlotte, Charlotte herself was touched up.
Lastly, the article commented that Charlotte’s demeanor was like that of a goddess and that most artists would turn into ugly ducklings standing next to her, so artists need to be selective about whom they take photos with.
After reading, James quickly exited the content page, then replied to Peter Gingery using Jane’s WhatsApp with a single sentence.
Are your eyes smeared with crap?
Peter on the other side, upon seeing the tone of this message, inexplicably felt that it didn’t sound like Jane’s style.
He tentatively sent back a message.
Brother? — Little Protein Prince.
James glanced at it and sent back a nonchalant "Hmm" in reply, then returned Jane’s mobile phone to her while saying, "You don’t need to look at such reports, anyone with eyes can tell you’re more attractive than Charlotte Miller."
Jane, utterly confused, asked, "What report?"
She took her mobile phone and glanced at it, noticing the cryptic exchange between Peter and James. Scrolling up, she found the link Peter had sent.
Jane clicked on it and skimmed through rapidly. Just one minute later, she was nearly livid enough to throw the mobile phone!
"Who wrote this article? Did their brain get squashed by a door?" Jane exploded with anger. "If the author likes Charlotte so much, just say it, instead of trashing me to make her look better. What an idiot!"
"You look beautiful," James picked up the mobile phone that Jane had tossed aside and placed it on the bedhead cabinet, "What’s there to be angry about? Not everyone’s blind."
James didn’t know how others might perceive Charlotte’s beauty.
But in his opinion, even judging by just the photos in the report, Jane was the more beautiful one, by several degrees.
"This author is not just blind; they are simply clueless," Jane fumed as she took off the diamond necklace that was still around her neck, "What did they say up there—that what I’m wearing is sponsored by some no-name brand?"
