Chapter 712 - 720: I Will Fight Back
"If you launch another personal attack against me, I’ll..." Jane Sampson frowned and looked dissatisfiedly at James Black.
"You’ll do what?" James Black asked with keen interest.
Jane gritted her teeth, "I’ll counterattack!"
Counterattack?
James let out a low chuckle, but in the end, he said nothing. Instead, he bent down, kissed her pouting lips, and then reached out to turn off the electric light.
As the light went out, Jane’s vision suddenly dimmed. She reached out and gently touched her lips that James had just kissed, softly giggling to herself. Then her whole body wrapped around James’s like an octopus, her face vigorously rubbing against his chest.
"What are you doing?" James was baffled by her sudden move, "Does your belly hurt?"
"No." Jane’s voice wafted faintly from his chest, "Activating counterattack mode, I’m gonna hug you tightly and overheat you!"
James stood there, stunned.
After a moment, he didn’t know whether to laugh or to be annoyed.
"You’re not that delicate," James murmured as he massaged the back of Jane’s head with his palm, "I’ll allow you to keep hugging me like this."
Jane lifted her head to glance at James, said nothing, hummed, and then lowered her head to close her eyes.
The one who intended to overheat James ended up, after falling asleep, working up a sweat herself first.
After falling asleep, Jane naturally withdrew her limbs after a while, even kicking off the quilt and directly laying her leg on top of James’.
The hem of her pajamas had been hoisted up, revealing her creamy little belly.
James had never before realized that Jane’s sleeping poses could vary so much. The person who used to curl up in one corner and sleep solidly until daybreak now sprawled in her sleep as wildly as she behaved during the daytime.
Give her an inch, and she’ll take a mile; she truly embodied this trait to the fullest, including her sleeping habits.
James reached out to feel Jane’s arm and forehead, and seeing that she indeed was overheating, he got up and lowered the air conditioning temperature a bit. After lying back down, the first thing he did was to cover her exposed belly again.
Not troubled by any sleeping disorders, Jane slept until daybreak. Although no alarm clock was set, her biological clock naturally woke her up around 6 o’clock in the morning.
When she opened her eyes, James was no longer in the bed. Next to her was his neatly folded pajamas and sleeping pants.
Jane sat dazed on the bed for a few minutes before she fully woke up. She then stepped barefoot onto the ground level and went downstairs.
Just as she reached the first floor, she saw James entering through the main gate with breakfast in hand. She stood in the doorway and glanced at what was in his hand, "You’re back from your morning run?"
"Hmm," James was changing into his slippers and upon hearing Jane’s question, he responded and stepped two paces inside. He glanced at Jane’s feet, then turned back to the doorway to get a pair of shoes for Jane, "Put these on."
Supporting herself with one hand on the shoulder of James, who was bending down to help her with the shoes, Jane yawned lazily with her mouth wide open and took a few beats longer to utter an "Oh" after finishing her yawn.
First, she extended her left foot, and after the shoe slipped on,
She switched to her right foot, and in a few seconds, it hit the ground.
The small head looked down, wiggled her big toe, and said in a muffled voice, "They’re too big."
James ignored Jane, holding the stuff and heading straight for the dining hall.
Jane stood there for a few seconds, looking blankly at the shoes on her feet which were obviously several sizes too big, thinking about the slippers on the third floor. In the end, she decided it was better to make do with what she had.
