Chapter 749 - 757: Approved
"I’m going to brush my teeth, and when I’m ready, I’ll call you," Jane Sampson said with her mouth, but her arms remained wrapped around James Black’s waist without letting go. She rubbed her head against his chin like a little kitten begging for affection and then changed her mind, saying, "A little longer hug before I go would be better."
James Black chuckled in a low voice, indulging her as she continued to hold onto his waist. He gathered a bit more strength in his arms, hugging her tightly.
"Getting affectionate first thing in the morning?" he asked, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead.
"Is that not allowed?" Jane Sampson looked up at James Black very earnestly and asked, "If it’s not allowed, then I won’t do it."
"Granted," James Black laughed softly and then rested his head on top of Jane Sampson’s.
Neither of them spoke, and Jane Sampson continued to hug James Black’s waist for nearly ten minutes. When she had hugged enough, she retracted her hands and hopped off the bed, bouncing all the way to the bathroom like a rabbit.
James Black didn’t wait for Jane Sampson to come out, he got off the bed himself, then walked to the doorway of the bathroom, leaning there and watching Jane Sampson as she hummed a tune while brushing her teeth in front of the mirror.
Jane Sampson caught a glimpse of him in the mirror and gave him a very sweet and curved-eyed smile, a clear indication of her very good mood.
After helping James Black wash up, Jane Sampson went with him to the first floor. There were still plenty of vegetables Coco Edwards had bought last night, so Jane Sampson did not intend to go out to buy breakfast but made some porridge herself.
While waiting for the porridge to cook, Jane Sampson and James Black went for a turn in the courtyard. They had only been walking for a short while when they suddenly heard the doorbell ring in the courtyard.
"I’ll check who it is. It’s so early; it might be Coco Edwards bringing us breakfast. I told her yesterday there was no need, but she might have forgotten," Jane Sampson said to James Black, and then trotted out.
When she reached the doorway, it wasn’t Coco Edwards but Rock Bell.
"Sister Tin!" Jade River greeted with utmost joy as she opened the door, "Why are you here so early?"
"I took the earliest class," Rock Bell said, "I heard James Black had an accident, and Coco Edwards said you were crying a mess. I couldn’t be at ease without coming to see how things are myself."
Rock Bell came carrying an X brand’s wanderer bag, a design-heavy bag that she had stuffed full of stuff, turning it into something like a vegetable basket.
Jane Sampson couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for the bag in Rock Bell’s hand.
"Sister Tin, you probably haven’t had breakfast since you came so early, right? It just so happens I’m cooking porridge. Let’s eat together," Jane Sampson invited Rock Bell inside and then patted the bag in her hand, "Sister Tin, you really waste precious things. People who can’t even buy those would be heartbroken if they saw it."
"Didn’t you say it yourself? It’s just a bag. If bags aren’t for carrying stuff, what are they for?" Rock Bell knocked on Jane Sampson’s forehead, "You, who uses H brand bags to carry street food snacks, have no right to tease me."
After saying that, Rock Bell looked over at James Black a few steps away and, seeing that both of his hands were bandaged but he appeared spirited and healthy, she said, "Judging by your looks with Jane, there seems to be no big problem."
"Indeed, there’s nothing serious. I had a minor surgery and just need some time to recover," James Black approached Rock Bell, "Thanks for taking the trouble to come all this way."
