Chapter 894 - 902: Outsiders are Outsiders

~3 min read 597 words

"Look at this, Dad," Julie Sampton called out to Father Sampton, "didn’t I tell you before? Jane Sampson has bamboozled Bright so much that he doesn’t even know his own name anymore."

Jane Sampson didn’t utter a word in her own defense, and her relationship with the family was becoming increasingly untenable. Meanwhile, Julie was more and more overtly buttering up their parents.

Before, Julie wouldn’t speak so bluntly in front of her.

Now, she could directly speak about her like this to her face.

It was evident that, when Jane was unaware, Julie must have spoken ill of her so much that it led Mother Sampton to go from initial intervention to becoming accustomed and now to agreement.

And Father Sampton didn’t utter a word in defense of his foster daughter either.

Clearly, in the heart of Father Sampton, she, Jane Sampson, truly wasn’t a daughter who satisfied him.

"Julie, there’s no need for you to be speaking in such a sarcastic tone," Bright declared. "You are the most heartless, darkest-hearted person I have ever met in this world, without equal."

"Bright! How can you speak to your sister like that?" Mother Sampton chastised in a low voice. "Julie is your own sister!"

Father Sampton looked sharply at Jane Sampton but ultimately said nothing to her, turning instead to Bright and said, "If you’re not going back to school, the moment you step out of this door today, you are no longer my son! From now on, I won’t give you a cent!"

Bright just shrugged. "Here are the car keys, and here’s the wallet. You just smashed the mobile phone yourself."

Bright tossed the stuff onto the tabletop and then took Jane’s hand, saying, "Sis, let’s go!"

Jane Sampson was dragged out of the house by Bright, and it wasn’t until they reached the courtyard that she unlocked the car and called out to him to get in, asking, "To school? Or somewhere else? I can take you there."

"I’ve already moved out of the dorm at school. Let’s head straight to the training base," Bright replied. "You drive, I’ll guide."

Jane nodded silently, started the car, and first dropped Bright off at his base.

Bright’s training base was located within a residential community, where all team members basically lived in this villa, which served as both their training ground and their dormitory.

"Sis, this is our base’s phone number, note it down. If you need anything, call this number to reach me." Bright found some paper and pen inside Jane’s car and quickly scribbled down a series of numbers.

Then, without waiting for Jane to speak, he hopped out of the car quickly, waved his hand without turning back, and went inside.

Jane Sampson watched Bright’s retreating figure and sighed helplessly.

In truth, Bright’s temperament was somewhat like that of Father Sampton, equally stubborn.

After starting the car, Jane didn’t immediately return to the guard team but went to a nearby shopping mall to buy quite a lot of stuff. Then she circled back to Bright’s residential community and made a call to him upon reaching the doorway.

Bright had been chatting with his new colleagues at the base and rushed out as soon as he got the call from Jane.

"Sis, why are you back again?" Bright asked from outside the car, tapping on the window of Jane’s car.

Jane turned off the engine and got out of the car. "Bought you some things."

Since she had been shopping and had her mask on, Jane’s voice was naturally much softer when she spoke.
