Chapter 935 - 943: Not Necessarily
Netizen: "Mom asked me why I was crying while holding my mobile phone, and I told her that I just squeezed off ten pounds at the specialty counter today, and I have to go back tomorrow to squeeze off another ten pounds. I feel sorry for myself."
Jane Sampson casually liked the post from this fan who had been ’squeezed thin’.
After exiting Twitter, Jane Sampson logged onto WhatsAPP, thought for a moment, and then made a WhatsAPP call to James Black.
Not knowing whether James Black was in the bedroom or the living room, in any case, Jane Sampson pressed her ear to the house entrance but couldn’t hear any noise from outside; however, he answered the WhatsAPP call very quickly.
"I guess you’re in the bedroom right now," Jane Sampson said to James Black, giggling.
Sitting in the living room, James Black laughed softly but hummed in affirmation.
"I bet you’ve definitely seen the Moments I posted on WhatsAPP." The fact that he picked up her WhatsAPP call meant the alarm had been lifted.
Jane Sampson heard James Black hum in response again and felt reassured, "I bet now if I go out, you definitely won’t snatch my phone away."
"Not necessarily," James Black replied with three words, and then hung up the WhatsAPP call.
Jane Sampson held her mobile phone hesitantly for a few seconds before finally opening the study’s main gate. She poked her head out and looked in the direction of the bedroom. Seeing no movement there, she breathed a sigh of relief, and then strutted out confidently.
"Jane Sampson."
Just as Jane Sampson was beaming with pride, a voice calling her name suddenly came from the sofa. Jane Sampson almost jumped in shock, instinctively turning to run back.
But before she could complete her escape, she let out another "Yi!" and turned around; his voice was very calm, not angry at all.
The danger alarm was completely lifted.
Jane Sampson hopped towards James Black with a bounce in her step, "James Black, you trickster, lying to me that you were in the bedroom when you were clearly in the living room, how cunning!"
James Black had tricked her, but he found it quite amusing to watch her poke her head out from the study door to scout for information. The surprise in her reaction when he suddenly called out her name intrigued him.
James Black had initially wanted to snatch her phone only because he was worried she would share his full-face photo to Moments.
Later, after seeing the new post she published on Moments, James Black felt he had worried too much. In terms of protecting his privacy, Jane Sampson was quite considerate; the photo she posted only showed the lip print on his face and none of his facial features, so James Black no longer had a reason to take away her phone.
"Come here," James Black said, lifting the person standing behind the sofa into the air and directly placing her on his lap as he crossed the sofa.
Jane Sampson, by now immune to James Black’s frequent lifting, found it rather amusing and wrapped her arms around his neck, giggling. Once she was comfortably seated, she remembered she had something to mention to James Black.
"Sister Tin notified me on WhatsAPP just now that I need to go to the company tomorrow morning. She has already secured the endorsement with Kane Forest’s company for me. She said these few days we need to liaise with the advertisement agency, and to finish shooting the advertisement before I enter the film crew," Jane Sampson said, reaching out to touch James Black’s chin, murmuring, "You need to shave."
After her mumble, she quickly continued, "The film crew’s casting is moving fast. Sister Tin said they’ve already sent out notices, and I should be able to join the crew very soon. I heard the costumes are already being rushed."
