Chapter 973 - 981: Don’t Go Far
Mona Calm couldn’t help but take another look at Coco Edwards, thinking to herself that Jane Sampson’s assistant this time was much better than the previous one. The film crew had set up the resting area close to the peak of the mountain, nested within a dense forest, so that later in the afternoon the sun wouldn’t be too strong.
Everyone was given mosquito repellent, and several tents were available, provided for the leading actors and some of the more senior teachers to rest.
Jane Sampson had fewer scenes in the mountain village than Hibiscus Wood and Edward Chip, even fewer than Amber Edwards.
James Chip said it would be approximately two hours until Jane’s turn. Jane looked around and said she might as well explore the nearby mountain to avoid falling asleep in the tent.
Of course, the main reason was she didn’t want to sit in the tent and grow weary of staring at Amber Edwards.
"Okay, just don’t go too far and keep an eye on the time. You must be back here in one and a half hours," James Chip nodded.
"Don’t worry, I’ll keep track of the time," replied Jane Sampson, then she cheerfully entered the tent and called out to Coco Edwards, "Coco, do you want to come and explore around with me?"
"What’s there to see in the mountains?" Coco Edwards sat on a chair, playing with her mobile phone.
"Autumn is the season for the richest harvest of wild fruits. Don’t you want to see what kind of wild fruits the mountain has?" Jane Sampson asked with a grin. Sure enough, Coco quickly put away her mobile phone.
"That sounds like fun. Hang on, let me get ready and grab some bags so we can pick any wild fruits we see." Coco immediately emptied the bags of snacks from her purse, then turned to Jane and asked, "Should we invite Mona along?"
Jane Sampson nodded, "You go ahead and get ready; I’ll go ask her."
Upon hearing that Jane Sampson still had the energy to go searching for wild fruits nearby, many in the film crew were in awe of her.
"Sister Jane, my legs are sore from the climb; I’d rather stay here and rest," Mona Calm shook her head, "You really have a lot of energy."
"That’s because I went to sleep early last night." Jane Sampson had laid down to sleep just before nine o’clock last night and slept straight through.
"Then Coco and I will go by ourselves. If you get hungry or thirsty, just go inside my tent and help yourself," Jane Sampson didn’t insist, and once Coco was ready, they casually picked a direction and started walking.
"Just now, when Amber heard you calling me to pick wild fruits, she muttered under her breath calling us ’country bumpkins’ and said that any fruit she wanted could be bought with money," Coco couldn’t help but rolled her eyes, "Money, money, money, what does she know? Picking wild fruits in the mountains is fun and also an affectionate sentiment."
"She has her own mouth and we can’t control what she loves to say," Jane Sampson’s attention was all on the plants beside the path.
It was evident that this mountain was rarely visited as the wild fruits along the way showed no signs of having been picked.
The two chatted and picked fruits, and before they knew it, they had been walking the randomly chosen path for half an hour. Standing there, they could no longer hear the noise from the film crew, let alone see anyone from the team.
"The director said we have to be back at the film crew in an hour and a half, we should head back soon to make time for some makeup touch-ups," Jane Sampson carried the bag full of wild fruits with a delighted expression, "Coco, we had a full harvest today."
