Chapter 10: Sharing the Fallen Heart Flame
Yunluo Li, August 20, 9995.
Ten days remain until the new semester begins.
Aikesi sat in the dormitory courtyard, gazing at the Fire Spirit Bead in his hand.
"Fallen Heart Flame, Fire Spirit Bead," he murmured to himself.
These past few days, he had been pondering a question: should he tell those brothers?
Strictly speaking, he was not the type who liked to show off; with secrets, the fewer who knew, the better. But the characteristics of the Fallen Heart Flame were very special—it could accelerate cultivation, not only for himself but for others as well.
The flame produced by the Fallen Heart Flame, if controlled properly, could create an environment where the Fire Element was extremely dense. Fire-type Mages cultivating in such an environment would achieve twice the result with half the effort. Although the effect was slightly weaker for other elements, the increased elemental activity still offered some help.
"Yelu is Water, Qiaozhi is Wind, Leinuo is also Wind, and Linlei is Earth-Wind dual-element," Aikesi calculated. "Except for me, there isn't a single Fire element among them."
But it would still be of some use.
Moreover, he trusted these brothers. First published on Tiantian Kan Xiaoshuo, extremely smooth, ttkk. tw, read anytime, providing you with error-free chapters and non-disordered chapter reading experiences.
After nine years of living together, he knew them too well.
Yelu appeared carefree, but his mind was clear; he asked what needed asking and never probed deeply into what shouldn't be asked. Qiaozhi was steady and acted with propriety. Leinuo talked a lot but understood the rules. Linlei needed no mention; he himself possessed a secret of immense magnitude and understood the word "privacy" better than anyone.
"Alright, it's settled then."
He stood up and called into the room, "Everyone come out, I have something to say."
A short while later, four people emerged from the room and sat down in the courtyard.
"What business is so formal?" Yelu leaned lazily against his chair. "Don't tell me you're asking to borrow money?"
"Borrow what money? Your family is richer than mine," Aikesi rolled his eyes at him. "Let's talk serious business."
He paused, organizing his thoughts: "During this trip to the Magical Beast Mountain Range, I made a bit of a discovery."
The group looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
"Deep in the mountain range, I discovered a special kind of flame Strength Profound Mystery that can be integrated into the body." He raised his right hand, and a wisp of milky-white flame appeared in his palm. "This thing is called the Fallen Heart Flame; it can accelerate cultivation."
The flame danced in his palm, and the temperature around them instantly rose a few degrees.
Leinuo's eyes lit up: "Accelerate cultivation? How exactly?"
"Fire-type Mages cultivating beside me can increase their speed by over fifty percent," Aikesi said. "The effect is slightly weaker for other elements, but there is still a twenty to thirty percent increase."
Yelu whistled: "That impressive?"
Qiaozhi pondered for a moment: "A treasure of this nature, you're telling us about it?"
Aikesi smiled: "What else? Use it secretly on my own?"
"That's not what I mean," Qiaozhi shook his head. "A treasure of this level, anyone else would absolutely hide it and keep it secret; no one would speak of it."
Aikesi retracted the flame and leaned back in his chair: "You are brothers; why hide it? Besides, this thing doesn't disappear after use; let's all use it together."
Everyone fell silent.
After a while, Linlei spoke: "What needs to be done?"
Aikesi nodded inwardly.
"Very simple." He stood up. "From now on, we five will cultivate together for two hours every day. I will activate the Fallen Heart Flame to increase the concentration of Fire Elements around us. You meditate when you need to meditate, cultivate when you need to cultivate. The effect is certain; how much depends on yourselves."
"That simple?" Leinuo asked.
"That simple."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Yelu slapped his thigh. "Let's start now!"
Aikesi raised his hand to stop him: "Eat first; only when full do we have the strength to cultivate."
The five of them laughed and walked toward the dining hall.
Afternoon, Hou Shan.
Aikesi selected an open spot, and the five of them each found a place to sit.
"Ready?" Aikesi asked.
The group nodded.
Aikesi sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and began to activate the Fallen Heart Flame.
Milky-white flame slowly overflowed from his body, forming a faint halo of fire around him. The flame did not spread too far, just covering a range of five meters in all directions.
All five people were within this range.
"Starting now," Aikesi said.
The others closed their eyes and entered a meditative state.
Aikesi himself was also cultivating. With the Fallen Heart Flame operating at full power, the concentration of Fire Elements around him surged. He could clearly perceive that the Magic in his Middle Dantian was growing at twice its normal speed.
The Fire Spirit Bead also glowed faintly, cooperating with the Fallen Heart Flame to make the effect even more pronounced.
Two hours later.
Aikesi opened his eyes and retracted the flame.
The others gradually woke up as well.
"How was it?" he asked.
Leinuo was the first to jump up: "Too fast! I feel this two hours was more effective than six hours of normal cultivation!"
Qiaozhi nodded: "Indeed very obvious. The activity of the Wind Element has increased significantly."
Yelu rubbed his chin: "I am Water element, but I feel it was also good, probably about fifty percent faster."
Linlei said nothing, merely nodding toward Aikesi.
Aikesi understood that look: Effective, thanks.
"Continue tomorrow," Aikesi said. "During this period before the semester starts, cultivate as much as possible."
For the next ten days, the five of them went to Hou Shan every afternoon, cultivating for two hours without fail.
Aikesi discovered that as he continued to activate the Fallen Heart Flame, his control over the flame became increasingly precise. At first, it was somewhat strenuous, but later he could activate the flame while cultivating himself, neither interfering with the other.
On the eighth day, he broke through.
Level 5 Mage.
He opened his eyes, and the surrounding flames automatically receded.
"Broke through?" Linlei asked.
"Mm." Aikesi nodded, "Level 5."
Yelu gave a thumbs-up: "Impressive."
Reynolds looked envious: "When will I also reach Level 5..."
"Cultivate well, it will be very fast." Qiaozhi said.
Aikesi stood up and stretched his body. After reaching Level 5, his Magic was nearly double as thick as at Level 4, and his perception of the elements was also more acute.
"I'll treat tonight." he said.
"Absolutely!" Yelu laughed loudly.
That evening, Huadeli Hotel.
The five of them drank until midnight; in the end, it was still Aikesi and Qiaozhi who helped the others back.
Waking up the next day, Aikesi's head throbbed painfully; he vowed never to drink so much again.
The day before school started, the five of them cultivated together for the last time.
After finishing, Reynolds asked: "Third Brother, can we do this after school starts?"
"Of course." Aikesi said, "As long as I am here, two hours every day."
"Great!" Reynolds jumped up happily.
Yelu patted Aikesi's shoulder: "Third Brother, thanks."
"Stop talking nonsense." Aikesi waved his hand, "Go back and pack your things; school starts tomorrow."
Back in the dormitory, Aikesi lay on the bed, recalling the experiences of these ten days.
【Ding—Detected host sharing the Fallen Heart Flame cultivation with multiple people for the first time.】
【Hidden condition triggered? Sign in?】
Aikesi silently thought in his heart: Sign in.
【Sign in successful.】
【Reward obtained: Azeroth Arcane Brilliance (Permanent) — Spiritual power perception greatly increased, sensitivity to elemental fluctuations increased.】
A cool breath surged into his mind, instantly spreading out.
In that instant, everything around him became incredibly clear. He could perceive Reynolds' breathing in the next room, could perceive the slight trembling of leaves in the courtyard, and could even perceive the faint elemental fluctuations coming from Hou Shan in the distance.
"Good thing." he nodded inwardly.
