Chapter 379: I Will Definitely Rescue You

~3 min read 595 words

At this moment, the sea breeze grew fiercer, making the sails snap and crackle. The waves became turbulent, constantly battering the ship's sides as if enraged by this sudden turn of events. In the sky, dark clouds gradually gathered, obscuring the moonlight, and the entire world seemed to plunge into darkness.

Li An gazed at the dark sea, his inner fury burning even more intensely. He recalled every little moment spent with Guo Yao; those sweet instants, those gentle smiles, now pierced his heart like sharp blades.

"Guo Yao, wait for me. I will definitely rescue you," Li An murmured silently in his heart.

He took a deep breath, striving to calm himself. He knew this was not the time for impulsiveness; he needed to think clearly and find Guo Yao's whereabouts.

"Luffy, Zoro, Nami, thank you for being willing to help me." Li An turned his head, looking at the Straw Hat Pirates, his eyes filled with gratitude.

"What are you saying? We are partners!" Luffy patted Li An's shoulder, a determined smile appearing on his face.

"That's right. We will definitely help you rescue Guo Yao." Zoro nodded as well, his eyes filled with trust.

Nami stepped forward and handed Li An a map: "This is a map of this sea area. Let's first see where to start looking."

Li An took the map and studied it carefully. His fingers moved slowly across the map, a hint of contemplation revealing itself in his eyes.

"Judging from the enemy's movements, they likely went in this direction." Li An pointed to a spot on the map and said.

"Then let's set off immediately!" Luffy said, unable to wait.

Thus, the Straw Hat Pirates' ship quickly adjusted its course, sailing toward the direction Li An had indicated. The ship cut through the surging waves on the vast sea; the sea wind howled, as if cheering them on.

As the ship moved forward, the surrounding environment grew increasingly gloomy. The sky was thick with dark clouds, as if they were about to press down at any moment. A thick layer of fog covered the sea surface, making it impossible to see the road ahead. Waves battered the ship's sides, emitting dull and terrifying sounds, as if roars from hell.

Suddenly, a dilapidated ship appeared ahead. The hull was covered with moss and barnacles, appearing to have been abandoned for a long time. There was not a single light on the ship, only a dead silence.

"Be careful; there may be an ambush ahead." Li An said alertly.

Everyone tightened their grip on their weapons and cautiously approached the abandoned ship. As they drew near, a stench of decay rushed toward them, making people unable to help but retch.

"What is this smell?" Nami covered her nose and said, frowning.

"It seems to be the smell of corpses." A hint of alertness revealed itself in Zoro's eyes, and his hand gripped the sword hilt tightly.

Just then, a gloomy laugh came from the ship. A figure slowly emerged from the darkness; it was one of Blackbeard Teach's subordinates.

"You have finally arrived. We have been waiting for you for a long time." His voice was hoarse and gloomy, as if coming from a grave.

Li An's eyes instantly turned fierce: "Hand over Guo Yao!"

"If you want the person, come and take her with your own skills!" The enemy said, suddenly pulling out a rocket launcher from behind and firing a shell toward the Straw Hat Pirates' ship.

"Duck quickly!" Li An shouted loudly.
