Chapter 459: You Want to Beat Me Too?
Li An had long been prepared; he swiftly raised his wand and blocked Draco's attack. The two wands collided in midair, releasing a dazzling burst of light, and the surrounding air seemed to warp under the immense force.
"Hmph, you think you can beat me with that?" Li An said disdainfully, launching a counterattack at the same time. His spell shot toward Draco like a bolt of lightning, so fast that Draco could barely dodge in time.
Draco hastily dodged sideways, but the spell still grazed his arm. He let out a pained scream and staggered back several steps.
"Damn it, how… how can you be this strong?" Draco stared at Li An in terror, his eyes filled with disbelief.
"Because I won't be shackled by my family's glory and orders," Li An said coldly. "I have my own beliefs and goals, and that is the source of my strength."
With that, Li An launched another attack. His spells rained down on Draco like a barrage of cannonballs, whistling through the air. Draco scrambled to defend himself, but was still driven back step by step under Li An's assault.
"No… impossible! How could I lose to you, you filthy half-blood—" Draco roared madly, his eyes brimming with despair and fury.
Under Li An's ferocious assault, Draco finally could not hold on any longer. His body heavily burdened, he crashed to the ground, and the wand in his hand clattered to one side.
"You lose." Li An walked up to Draco, looking down at him from above. "Now, will you tell me where the clues about the lost spellbook are?"
Draco glared fiercely at Li An and said through gritted teeth, "Don't even think about it! I won't tell you!"
Li An let out a cold laugh: "Looks like you still haven't faced reality. But it doesn't matter—I'll find it myself."
With that, Li An no longer paid Draco any mind, turned around, and continued searching the archive room for clues.
After some careful rummaging, Li An finally found a tattered ledger in a hidden corner. He opened it; inside were records of the pure-blood families' dark magic dealings over the years, along with hints pointing to where the lost spellbook was hidden.
"This is it!" Li An cried out excitedly, a victorious gleam shining in his eyes.
Seeing Li An find the ledger, Draco's heart filled with unwillingness and rage. He struggled to get up from the ground, trying to snatch it back: "Give the ledger back to me!"
Li An easily dodged Draco's attack, looked at his sorry state, and mocked: ". Save it—you're no longer fit to be my opponent."
"According to the records in the ledger, that lost spellbook should be hidden somewhere in this ancient castle." Li An frowned, his gaze fixed firmly on the distant castle shrouded in darkness, then turned to Harry and Hermione beside him and said.
Harry nodded slightly, his hand unconsciously brushing the wand at his waist, a hint of tension and anticipation in his eyes: "No matter what dangers lie ahead, we have to stop the pure-blood family's plot."
Hermione pushed her glasses up on the bridge of her nose, a gleam of wisdom in her eyes: "Exactly, but we have to be careful—this castle must be full of unknown dangers."
The three slowly approached the castle, and the surrounding air seemed to grow cold and grave. The castle walls were covered in eerie vines, swaying in the wind with a rustling sound, as if whispering ancient curses. The great door was shut tight, covered in mysterious runes that emanated a faint dark magic aura..
